+KingHoneyBadger pcsx2 is pretty much the same as a regular ps2, without backwards compatibility, but can play any region game as long as you have a BIOS file for that region. however, PCSX2 does require a particularly powerful pc, as emulation is pretty costly on pc performance. i used to run kh2fm with the default settings on a Pentium 4 about a year ago, and performance was pretty bad.
***** What settings are you actually changing. You apply settings once, and you're done. most of the time you don't need to change shit other than if yoy're running more than 2 cores and then you'd have to change the affinity to 2
A quote I liked from Xemnas is gone. Xemnas: Riku, are you not jealous of Sora? Also, the drive time loading and Xemnas reaction command being bad screwed me plenty of times on Critical mode.
I managed to accidentally coax it out of him in 2.5 JP just once but have been unsuccessful in getting him to taunt either of them during that fight since.
Imma Xehanort Weird, because I've gotten both of them on my very first fight against him which really made me happy because on my KH2 copy HE NEVER SAYS THEM! I think ive heard the riku one twice on my original copy and i have done that fight i don't know how many times...
Imma Xehanort I also remember in the third part of the Xemnas fight (when you fight him in the head of the Nobody Dragon) that after you do the skyscraper RC the second time, he doesn't give an angry yell. I liked hearing that 'cause it really made me feel like I was pressuring him and giving him a real fight. I still loved playing 2.5 HD English the whole way through, but I can't deny that everything mentioned by Bizkit has bothered me at one point or another.
Regarding the point of Square not patching their HD re-releases - actually they did just patched Type-0 HD, removing its heavy blur and fixing the camera a bit. It was a small patch, but they made it, because people complained. I wonder where should we share this video for Square to notice it though.
+Serj Angelo The heavy blur isn't removed; it's optional. Additionally, it doesn't affect the game's performance. Type-0 didn't suffer from performance issues, but the rest of the HD remasters do, and Square Enix doesn't want to fix that because it's much more work than fixing camera controls and motion blur. Let's not forget that Type-0 is a PS4 game, a console with a ton of support as of now. The PS3 will be discontinuing soon, so it's pointless to patch games on PS3.
Kh2/Fm Saix DM: "All shall be lost to YOU!!!" Sephiroth (Second Phase): "Know your place" Saix(basic attack): "DUH, DUH, BE GONE!" Phil:" Get Up on the Hydras' Back!" Xaldin: *Teleports* "Sora!" Dante Zeigler Are the Saix ones for DF or normal fight? Cos I could hear him fine in my copy in all the data fights but I don't recall the story fight...
The one I really miss is during armour Xemnas 2 fight in final bosses. After doing the building RC and breaking the shield, then doing snowflake skip, Xemnas usually lets out one of those long drawn out roars as you dodge and glide towards him. Completely gone from 2.5 unless he was taunting Riku or Sora just before the RC, in which case it does play for some reason.
I thought I was crazy when I fought Xemnas on my 2.5 critical run. I remembered just spamming triangle when I was a kid. And when I was younger, I could barely beat the game in standard (I sucked) so it blew my mind that the final boss was so much harder than before.
I KNEW the final Xemnas fight wasn't that hard in the original!! Thought I was going crazy when I couldn't chain the reaction commands together during my 2.5 playthrough. I didn't notice the load times to be honest, but I can understand the frustration.
xNINJAxLUMPIAx Don't tell me !!! I can't beat his data Battle at LV1 because of that, my god in the original KH2 this was one of my favorite Boss Battle but they completely fucked up here.
I had the same experience, I was playing on Proud Mode and was fairly high leveled. I died many times that I got the timing down for the Reaction Commands but they didn't always appear
Escasnored That's exactly how I felt. I thought my memory was failing about not taking a single hit when I would replay that Final Xemnas fight on PS2 when I first played 2.5 (it had been a good 3 years at least that I hadn't played KH2 due to a broken PS2). Then I found out it was a common bug in the port that people experienced. It's absolutely ridiculous that they actually considered that mess ready for full release.
+MikachuTuhonen agreed. an excellent game such as KH2FM doesn't deserve such a terrible port :/ although, during my playthrough, it never crashed once for me, so maybe i was lucky x) one glitch i did pull off was somehow getting the battle music and the out of battle music to play simultaneously. it was during the mushroom heartless minigame in Christmas Town.
xnomura95x why? What is the point of fixing a version if they're going to release a new one. If they can, they'll try and sell the fixes on the newest system. Square has no interest investing time and money into what they obvious consider "pointless fixes" because they obviously don't understand these things.
@Grade > why? What is the point of fixing a version if they're going to release a new one. Well, if they don't give a fuck about their customers, then I guess there really *is* no point.
Anyway though, when I fought Sephiroth I was thinking "that flash step sounds like it has a lot less hits than I remember?" But I was right the audio isn't too big of a deal but having some of those more consistent ones back would be nice like man hearing it hit that many times sounds a lot scarier than a few slower ones
Also don't forget the annoying part of these games not being available digitally because of Hikaru Utada's dumb contract that forbids her songs from being distributed digitally.
That is probably why 2.5 won't be on PS4 as it seems like every PS4 game is available for download. Which begs the question: will we not hear the theme song in KH3?
That's something to consider when releasing games for the PS4. Shuhei Yoshida of SCE confirmed all PS4 games be available for digital download and will enforce such a policy like they do with the Vita, so that will become an obstacle for Square Enix to publish Kingdom Hearts III or even Kingdom Hearts 2.8 for that very platform because Utada is against her content being digitally distributed.
+joeshadowman Bullshit. It's obvious that this port was rushed. Look at other remastered games for the PS3 like the Ratchet and Clank collection, Jak and Daxter collection, Tomb Raider collection and more.
Kingdom080500 Look, I'm not saying that it isn't the fault of Square, I was just explaining why it didn't work. And it's a well know fact that the PS3's operating system sucks. Square didn't know how to use it, but the games you mention are made by in house developers. They've been working with the PS3 the most. They would know how to fix the bugs. Square didn't bother to care, so it ended up like that.
One of my big complaints is to the music at the final Xemnas battle starting too late killing the mood. In the original game, right after he says "yours" the song starts. In the 2.5 version however; it starts 3 seconds after he says "yours" which completely kills the mood.
+TrollForce I totally agree with you. I think there were a few other moments where the music didn't start on cue and it definitely affected the mood of the scene. These are tiny details, but they can influence the overall feeling of the game.
I think you mean the data fight when you skip the cutscene of him spawning in. Three seconds after saying "Anger and hate..are supreme." the music starts.
+Kingdom080500 Nah, the song timing is actually about 2 seconds off in the cutscene. If you look up the cutscene right before final Xemnas, and compare between 2.5 and 2, the difference is definitely there. Again, these are very small, seemingly insignificant details, but to someone who played that fight literally hundreds of times as a kid and knew all of the lines and cues, it immediately stands out.
I'm glad someone pointed this out. My god that was the biggest mood killer. As soon as he said "yours" on PS2, the beat dropped and shiz got real. Now it's so delayed and unimpactful.
hacked console and HDD(pal ps3 slim, ntsc game) compared to disc: 1) Area load times are much shorter but still ~1-2 seconds longer than ps2 2) Missing sound bits are still missing 3) Final xemnas RC fails to appear ~1-3 times during full attack 4) Drive forms load much faster than normally but pause buffer is recommended 5) Pre fight freeze only happened on cerberus (10 playthroughs) and it's barely noticable (few frames) 6) Xemnas 1 crash still exists 7) No random deaths/damage (so far) 8) BBS command styles load instantly(up to 0.25 seconds load) 9) BBS areas load much faster
matra11ramaks Sweet, thanks for all the info and testing! It's sad to know that some of the issues in this video could still persist on PS4 even with data install. Let's hope they see this video even more then. Your post confirms that Final Xemnas & missing sound effects are NOT tied to load times being too long.
Bizkit047 Final Xemnas bug could still be from load times, because while it still fails the RC it isn't as often as "regular" game . Unfortunately i don't have SSD to check if it would still be the case
matra11ramaks Unless I misread, you said it fails to appear 1-3 times during full attack, that's roughly the same as normal, or did you mean something else?
After 6 years KH 1.5 and 2.5 Remix is released on Epic Games for Windows PC and they really delivered. -Mechanics are much better, drive works basically instantaneously as it should. -Game runs very well as it has never crashed through my playthroughs. Load times are much quicker, no final Xemnas glitch ever. -Sound effects are flawless in my experience of approx. 600+ hours played -Thank the lord there are soft resets without save points required. Glad I got back into the Kingdom Hearts franchise literally months after it released on Epic Games
Thanks for your comment. I was wondering how many of these coaches are fixed nowadays. I’m glad that you newcomers didn’t have to deal with any of this. Every year goes by and it gets easier and easier to get into Kingdom Hearts. So SE are doing something right.
***** The problem with KH2 is that the save system is made up of a single save file. Lose that and EVERY SINGLE ONE of your saves made in KH2 is lost. In BBS, you can create a save file and multiple backup files, so if you accidentally delete/corrupt say, a save of Aqua's story, you can just use a backup save.
Hello, I am from the future. In the PC version, from my experience, the load times are instant for drives and summons, and pretty much instant after death. I haven't tested every crash, but Experiment doesn't crash occasionally for me anymore.
I THOUGHT I WAS THE OLNY ONE WHO NOTICED SOUND EFFECTS! Thank YOU! Also when maleficent is next to the cornerstone of light in Disney castle talking to queen mini and the gang there is no evil music. But there was in original KHFM. :(
Why did I watch this? When it comes to glitches in game I never have them happen to me till I hear about them. Did not know about crashes now I bet the next time I play the game I will continuously get them. P.S. good vid like always
Not sure if anyone else noted this, but I had an experience where you can create lag pauses by activating a Drive form while enemies load up. During a practice playthrough in CoR in the last Nobody mob fight, i used a drive into Final to finish off a Dragoon to start the next wave, but since both the drive and the enemies were loading at the same time, it created a lag pause. Most likely ENG 2.5 problem, since JP 2.5 lacks the lag pauses. This could explain why Riku summit fight also lag pauses when loading a Drive, since Rapid Thrusters are being loaded in at the same time.
You can dodge Larxene's (AS) Desperation Move by simply popping Valor Form, I shit you not. Pop it right as she starts, and it takes so long that she burns through the whole move before your form loads. Kind of awesome actually. Makes it dodgeable before you get Dodge Roll or a Quick Run with invincibility frames.
bluroguevyse08 If you used that same form earlier in the fight, you'd die instantly cuz it keeps it in memory. Also, that idea only works in English 2.5. In JP 2.5 you'd get hit that way, since forms load slightly faster there. Also, using drive load times on purpose as a way to dodge things is a bad idea due to sometimes the load times for them are variable and can be faster or slower than you expect, which can randomly put you in terrible situations
I don't import, so I had to wait until English came out (I'm American) (also, it was amazing to finally play this game after watching you play it all these years). As far as Larxene AS, it was reliable. In my extensive and recent experience with English 2.5, sometimes the form you used earlier still takes the same amount of time to load in the exact same fight (which surprised the shit out of me the first time it happened). I have no idea what factors determine this. Perhaps using another form and then using the first one again, but it would need to be tested. In this case, I don't remember if it consistently loaded slow or not, but since I had two forms (Valor and Wisdom), I could Valor the first time and then Wisdom the 2nd (first healing Doland if need be ;). So as long as you kill her in 2 DMs or less, it won't matter and you never need to test it at all. Anyway, when Larxene AS appeared in my Lvl1 CM playthrough, I didn't want to wait until Twilight Town to fight her (returning to TT gets you Limit form, which allows sufficient form leveling to gain Invincibility Frame growth abilities, as I'm sure you know), so the only option for dodging her DM at this point in the game was this strategy I came up with. I could still easily dodge it via [Dodge Roll --> Quick Run] on repeat when I fought her Data later (yeah, you can Glide, but it feels kind of cheap and I'm sure I don't need to justify 'restricted Org fights' to you; restricting can be very satisfying and fun). Side note: Pulling off the Genie Final --> Reflega, Vicinity Break, Explosion strat against Larxene is incredibly satisfying. Whoever came up with that is goddamn genius. Saw it in your WR vid and was incredulous. Thanks for posting sick vids, dude.
Man, the Xemnas stuff especially just makes me wonder what idiot playtested this port. How do you not see that the SINGLE Drive Form you're allowed to use during Xemnas 1 doesn't work, along with what's supposed to happen during *the very first attack* of Final Xemnas!
This was the sole reason why I play the original PS2 release of KH2, it runs better and it plays to it's full intended potential. But at least I get to see Xigbar's cool sniper gun in the 2.5 release, but that'd mean playing the whole broken game again.
i have this problem where kingdom hearts 2 final mix wont load my save i can load other games and my other KH2 FM saves but whenever i try to load this one save it just sends me back to the game selection menu
0:09 - 0:16 WAIT WHAT !? Ohhh yes ! I hope square enix makes a 3rd remake of KH2. And in my opinion of 2.5 theres nothing much wrong with it besides one thing. They shouldn't replaced roxas' voice from his original tovm ventus'. Sure roxas is the nobody of sora and has the appearance of ventus since ventus is apart of sora's heart but you cant ruin a classic in KH2. Also, i have no idea why square enix removed some of the best sound effects such as the absent soulliette battle cries and quotes in the 2.5 remix. In the original KH2 the story bosses (the orgisation members) all died with quotes at the. Saix: "if i had a heart" Xigbar: "I lost ? Me ?!" Xemnas: "Curses ... keyblade" Luxord: "You played the game quiet well" Whereas, all the absent souliette boss dont have battle quotes during the battle of once defeated. Other than sound effects. Drive loads times and the xemnas glitch wasnt a problem since ive watched ***** data org battle guide and it helps a lot.
Yeah thats the one im reffering to for roxas, the 2.5 remix doesnt have the orginal voice of roxas, they replaced it with ventus'. As for the absent silhouette the orginal japnese version the voices and battle quotes were removed aswell.
***** ohh i completely forgot about 358/2 days but yeah i guess that makes sense. Overally my opinion is that roxas' old battle cries were a lot more i would say more like roxas and better. But in terms of kingdom hearts logic: yeah roxas has the appearance of ventus since ventus a piece of soras heart but roxas is his own person; he deserves his old battle cry back, dont know why square changed it :/
I didn't even realize that slow loading time caused the final Xemnas fight throw to be broken as hell. I kept getting killed by that and I had no idea why because I was using the reaction commands properly. That's insane.
It's not confirmed that load times were the cause of the Xemnas Fight being glitched, but it's a valid theory since everything else in the game loads slower then before.
Hey Biz this is Darkrai48 from the streams just wanted to say great video and I 100% agree they should fix these problems. Even though I have 100% the Jiminy Journal on english 2.5 I do really get bugged by its problems so I hope Square will fix them so I can truly enjoy my favorite game. Thanks for the video cant wait to see more videos and streams.
In regards to the sound issue, I wouldn't say it's minor. It can effect gameplay on a personal level. When you hear a specific sound you can read the next move if you don't catch it with your eye. At least that's how it is for me. Not really something that needs to be fixed but should be added. Control mapping or the option to use the japanese controls in the english version.
The only issue I have is that when I'm in the middle of the game, the screen beeps and then it says loading trophy data or something like that, and then it takes me right back to select a game.
It's tough when you have the exact same team that's working on KH3 have to work on these HD remasters on the side. They really just should have gotten a new team altogether to work on them.
That is a completely dumb idea, especially when they realized how KH1 and 2 are such good games while making these ports, which helped out greatly in KH3's development.
After seeing the video, i realised that the sound effects are missing, thank you for that :) And I also have to say, it somehow was better on the PS2, because like you said, the loading times are much longer than that, and I notice an input delay on big TVs(On the PS3 Version). I didn´t try that with the PS2, but now I have to say, it´s not as good as I thought. Thanks Bizkit :D
My KH2FM keeps crashing and takes me back to the game select screen. It happens when I try to fight Terra or when I load a save file or go to a different room BBS works fine.
+TheVenXIII The same thing happens to me when farming for drive orbs in the cavern of rememberence during screen transitions, and only there. Oddly enough, this only happened in my critical run and not on standard difficulty.
It occasionally did this during my 2FM playthrough, but it got insanely bad by TWNTW. Tried to leave the place...crash. Tried to fight Lexaeus...crash. BEAT Lexaeus after a long fight...CRASH. After beating the game and eventually wanting to do Data Org, it just crashed to the select screen every time now.
Wow man, having reached the end of my playthrough of the PS4 port, I'm so glad to not have come across these issues. Loading in particular seems to be in a really good state and I was impressed by that even without knowing it was shitty in PS3. I'm frankly glad I skipped this title for PS3.
Most of them were fixed with day 1 English patch (JP version had to wait to get the fixes.) Sound issue still persists, and PS4 version introduces 60fps bugs, though they fixed some of those now too.
Question about the 2.5 collection, since I've never had a PSP or PS3 before. How well does Birth By Sleep fare in comparison? Does it crash a lot or suffer from a number of bugs? Otherwise, I'm fine with English patches of Final Mix 1 and 2, and the standard RE: Chain of Memories games for PS2. If Birth By Sleep HD is bugged, I don't really have a reason to want the collection on PS3.
I have a quick question. When I was playing KH2.5, I somehow managed to bypass a cutscene twice in the first visit to Tron's world in the I/O Tower. First time it happened, I crashed the game trying to go back to Hollow Bastion. Second time, I didn't crash (and the game wouldn't let me go back to Hollow Bastion) and attempting to leave the area let cutscene played. Could that be attributed to load times or something else?
Lisa Lee I think what you did was what Sonicshadowsilver2 tested in the past, it's a crash that I believe happens in all KH2's, you're not supposed to skip those cutscenes, so if you do it confuses the game.
Bizkit047 I see. Thank you for explaining. It was my first time encountering it, and I didn't see anything on it when I looked if anyone else experienced it.
Bizkit047 Yeah, examining the computer when you Quick Run past the cutscene trigger in the 1st visit of Space Paranoids before Hostile Program crashes in all versions.
I noticed some sounds not playing but I have not experienced a single crash or freezing before a battle before in KH2FM in English. Im currently playing the game in Japanese now so idk whats up.
unrelated kinda, but i hate how in re:com on ps4, there's this weird lag after fights where sora just. stands there for a good 5 seconds before the game realizes that the fight's over. ooooof. square, please. it's not every fight either just totally random?
Bizkit im not sure what your stance is on giving opinions on games that are yet to come out but squareenix E3 played a few hours ago and there was a decent amount of gameplay for KH3 in it. Obviously you can't give the final judgement now but from what there is (you can already find the E3 gameplay on youtube if you missed it) what do you think of the game so far? And are you going to be trying to come up with strats along with other guys with the intent to speed run it later like the first 2 games. Also what would you like to see in KH3 even just as a personal preference not necessarily as a speedrunner and what do you think would definitely be a bad decision to add in the new game?
Im really glad other people are running into problems and its not just me im literally stuck and can't continue in the game because it freezes during a cutscene every time so I doubt i will even be able to finish the game which is sad because this game was on of my favorites when i was younger.
I thought I was the only one who ran into that crash at Xemnas 1, but geez this game isn't really optimized for PS3. If only Square allowed for a data install option, I would be a lot happier hearing all of the sound effects correctly played and faster load times
Are there still lags if you play it on a PS4? I’m actually asking because I may have the set up where I can play Kingdom hearts 2.5 on a PS4 soon. Thanks
No, because the PS4 forces all disc games to install data to the HDD. This means that load times for these Kingdom Hearts games (which originally ran on consoles no stronger than the PS2) are incredibly short.
Wondered about the Xemnas issue thought it was me being shit on critical lmao. Had a couple lags here and there yeah the load times are atrocious. Great vid biz
Question: I was fighting Data Larxene on level 1, and whenever the initial lightning bolt hit me (wasn't paying attention), Sora died instantly. However, when he died, the camera was staying the same, and Sora's body was in the death animation while the fight still goes on. Then after about 10 seconds, the game over screen pops in. Was that in the original? Also, if you get some Data Org enemies to 1 HP where a finisher is the only thing that finishes the fight (Larxene and Zexion come to mind), they just...stop. They literally just walk around and maybe attack once, then do nothing. Was that in the original as well? Thanks for pointing out these problems! Too many people defend these bugs/glitches..
Asher Edmondson The lag death glitch didn't exist in original 2FM, only a 2.5 thing. As for your second thing, that's normal, some bosses change their AI at 1 HP, bosses like Storm Rider/Dark Thorn do it too.
So if I read into this correct, this is a game I should install to the PS3 itself rather than run right off the disc? Or is that an option if I've got the physical version? Regardless, I'm pretty lucky in avoiding bugs, so hopefully none of this happens to me.
Ah, this was a thing I watched wasn't it? Well, I guess I should mention that some of the more minor things may have just not happened for me, though annoyingly the load times and Final Xemnas glitch are still there. Then again, I don't use Limit much, so that probably accounts for a lot of it (since most of the crashes seem to involve that particular Drive Form somehow).
Hey bizkitz great video, other thing that i realize is that at least in english version there are some frame drops in some sections like in the last page of pooh world there is a huge frame drop.
They should add an option that allows you to restart a boss battle over again after you lose, instead of reloading the last checkpoint, which in 2.5 is atrocious, making you run back to the where the boss is, trigger another load screen, skip the cutscene, trigger ANOTHER load screen... Only to have you fail in five seconds flat. The amount of time it takes to begin the boss battle was longer than that of my attempts to beat terra. Ugh. BBS has this option too..
The PS2 was a bit of an oddball architecture, particularly in the way data had to be fetched. In many cases, optimizations were so fine tuned that physical position of the data on the disc were crucial. Translating such optimizations to the PS3 is undoubtedly a formidable task, though that does not in any way excuse the new, sometimes very blatant game-breaking bugs that have been introduced.
The only one of these that I noticed when I played through the game was the final Xemnas fight.. It took me forever to beat his data battle because of the stupid reaction command not showing up and constantly needing to rely on Riku's limit break! Also, did they remove a line or something in Axel's death scene? Because I swear there was a tad bit more to that scene in the original than in 2.5.
The only thing I really noticed was the drive form load, but after this I realized that there's so much more wrong. I though I was just bad at Xemnas which is why I kept dying haha. Hopefully these things are fixed if they decide to make a PS4 port!
This video covered the 2.5 problems well, but let's also hope that, if SE ever winds up making plans for a PS4 set in the future(even if they currently aren't at this time as Nomura stated not long ago), that 1.5's issues are also rectified. It doesn't have as many that were prevalent in 2.5, and they occur much more rarely, but many people have experienced either freezing during certain segments(usually right before the ending FMV), or this atrocious sound bug where your speakers make a ton of those grating, booming noise. At first, people had assumed it was just a faulty batch of discs. However, that was proven wrong when people noted these same errors occurred in original Japanese copies during some streams, as well as the fact many international copies shared the same problem across multiple regions. Even if these problems are relatively minor compared to the more common ones of 2.5 due to how rare they occur(with a good deal of fanboys dismissing the fact just because it never happened to them), it's still a thing that must be fixed if they're ever to do another re-release.
no wonder when i was fighting final xemnas i couldn't use react commands to dodge his throw arm move, it kept using riku's reaction command every time. i had to disable his commands in order to dodge SOME of xemnas moves but not all. i remember in ps2 original kh2 i could have riku's moves enabled and still dodge ALL reaction commands coming from xemnas's attacks.
Were these bugs and problems ever patched? I've run into a few, but the one that really screws me up, is the fact you cannot really use the "reversal" command against Xemnas.
I don't know if this is a bug or glitch, but in the Data Final Xemnas Fight when Xemnas traps Sora and we have to use Riku to stop Sora being defeated by Xemnas, the lifebar of Sora runs off very fast,in a way that it's almost imposible to get throught that part
I’m guessing they really did fix all these issues with the PS4 port, yeah my game on 2.5 chugged a couple of times but never crashed, never lagged, everything worked fine, load times were on par with ps2 version.
I found an issue with Timeless River's sounds that it would make a nasty Audio sound if Sora did a move or did something to make a lot of noise, similar to headphones that can't handle certain sounds.
Has anyone tested the Xemnas 1 crash for probability? I want to do some speed runs but I don't want want to have the game crash that far in. I don't own the PS2 Final Mix either, so 2.5 is my only option.
+RushStudios101 If you do the speedrun strat correctly, it can never crash. If you fail it at the end with the Limit Form strat, then you will 100% crash it though...so it just depends how good you are at it I guess
Thanks for the Drive form pause buffer trick. From what I know on the PS2 the data on the DVDs was actually organized so that it would reduce loading times, and the drive itself was functioning differently then a PS3 drive. A Data Install would be great, at least partial (character and weapon models, animations etc.) but we won't get it on a PS3. PS4 requires games to be installed to the hard drive though.
Hmm, interesting video. I can definitely agree with the long loads on the drive forms but I actually have never run into any lag/load times on battles like you showed. Never had any freezes either, and as far as I can tell the sound effects seemed fine (though it might be hard to catch that). Regardless, that issue with Xemnas (especially when fighting data version) makes it very frustrating...
This one time when i was fighting data Roxas, he hit me with that spiral leap attack and my screen turned competitively white. I thought my game froze but the fight was still going on. I could here Roxas still making his grunts and Sora getting hit but the screen was still white. I finally died and it went to the normal game over screen. It was pretty weird
Bizkit047 Actually, it was an issue present in the original KH2FM as well. If you use Firaga or Blizzaga on Hooded Roxas, there are split frames where it can still come out during the keyblade duel. And, if you hit Hooded Roxas on exactly frame 1 of the keyblade duel with this, you will knock him out of the duel, and the screen will stay white because the flash is attached to his A.I, which you just interrupted by hitting. Alternatively, if your spell hits him on any other frame, you will knock him out of the duel and Sora will still be able to steal his keyblades, or the duel will drop with Sora going through the normal animation and eventually being vulnerable to whatever attack Roxas throws out next.
its seriously fucked up that the european, and english versions of 2.5 habe even mor3e issues than the japanese one. I've been willing to overlook the bad load times on 2.5 cause Blu Ray is significantly slower than DVD was. (Doesnt excuse there not being a Sata Install Feature, BBS had it, most early PS3 Games had it) but these Bugs and Glitches sadly ruin a great Game for me on PS3. Sadly im such a KH Nerd i'd even buy the PS4 releases when they dont fix anything. Just cause i love these Games so much.
Wow. As someone who didn't own a PS3 but was anticipating a KH2.5 PS4 port, I'll have to keep this video in mind before purchasing it and see if they fix this crap. Hard to say if they will or not, because while they just patched Type-0, FFX HD for the PS4 still suffers from RNG issues and a music glitch that didn't even exist in the PS3 version. We should definitely find a way to express these concerns.
PlainOlJoe I agree, if we're vocal about it, it seems they may listen, which is what I hope this video accomplishes. When you port something and make it worse than previous versions...that's poor porting.
I just bought this game and I have noticed that for some odd reason I don't have voice acting in the engine rendered cutscenes at all. It really doesn't make the game unplayable but it annoys the crap out of me.
Seems like they didn't fix the sound effects in the PS4 version. I was wondering why there was some missing quotes and why things didn't play like they did before. However, they did fix the load times; they work very excellent, even faster than the PS2 version(of course), and the glitches are gone, but there are some minimal ones.
Dude gave me an idea how to beat Xemnas Data battle on Critical now. I didn't even think about the Reflect spam when he throws you up for massive damage.
So it wasnt just me then...i always thought the lag pauses were something unique to my game or that my PS3 was being dumb because I had never seen or heard anyone else talk about them in 2.5 HD well I guess im not entirely wrong in the sense that it is unique to my game, it just happens to be unique to all the overseas versions apparently...at least I know im not crazy then whenever i see it consistently good to know, thanks for the informative video
