Your base originally has 2 walls, if you build another wall on either side a flag will be added at the end of it, go up to it and pay 4 gold to advance your army.
You see that banner near your most advanced wall? If you put 4 gold in it you will send a knight and his archers to atack. You can make 2 knights per island but you can have more if you send them on the boat when you leave.
