Well you never know how heroic the knights are until you've experienced it first hand. Just walking out the cave you know you recruited the right knights
For anyone wondering why the Forge doesn't have a bomb option, it's because they moved it to the main Castle keep on the tower which is closest to the cave> I spent an hour googling why it was bugged and just figured it out.
On mobile, Knights and their archers can live through the explosion if they tanked the horde offscreen and will appear alongside the exit. The Vagrants that appear with you should be the same amount of casualties you got from the cliff subjugation. (I've yet to confirm whether if it's the same on PC)
welp now its 2022 and the tanks on legs(as i like to call the knights) actually DO escape with you out of the cave with 0 coins on them though which suggests they escaped last second with a quite a beating still cool knights tho
I beat the 2nd island's cliff portal by initiating attack twice on the left side, 2 set of swordsman and their archers. Made sure I grabbed overflowing gold pouch and dropped it at the portal to act as shield. Ran out of coins and the first sword unit died and withdrawn from the attack. The last swordman defended decently for a solid minute and eventually, myself surprised as well, the cliff collapsed.
Holy Jeebus this game makes me really terrified and grossed out. I mean.. LOOK AT THAT THING 2:45 What the hell?! Anyway.. Good video! At least now I know what to expect in that cave. *Ugh..* ._.
I have a question for you: I am on the fifth island, on the left side I have 2 greed portals active plus the dock/sea-side portal active, but on the right side I only have the cliff-side portal active. If I attack and defeat the cave, what will happen to the left-side portals?
If you defeat the cave then it permanently deactivates the rest of the portals, so no more greed will spawn. I'm not sure if the dock side portal would despawn so you could build a lighthouse or if you'd have to send troops to destroy it, either way, no more greed should spawn
Do you know how to get to challenge islands on the ps4 version of the game? It seems like everyone else has an option in the pause menu but that doesn't show up for me.
Hey nice video! I do have some questions though: Do you have to get the stone mine on the second island an then return to the 1st island to destroy the cave? Because otherwise is there a way to get knights on the 1st island without ever being on the 2nd island? Or is there a way to destroy it without knights?
It is pretty clear. You need stone resource for castle to recruit knights, you need iron resource to make bombs. To destroy the cave you need to have knights and their squads to launch an attack to the portal and bomb to finish it off completely. So, you have to turn back to old islands
Question: How do you mass up the amount of archers and knights you have on one particular island? I struggle to do such a thing because I want to be able to focus all my forces on one half of the Island.
Make sure the boat is full when changing islands, then just recruit villagers regularly, or get the bakery hermit so you don't have to go out to camps to recruit

I recently destroyed the cliff portal on the 3rd island but lost my crown while escaping but after i returned there, the greedlings are still spawning there. Do i have to destroy all the cliff portals again?
Unfortunately there's no real way to predict the side it comes from. The earliest indication is the noise that plays when the wave spawns, and if you've got headphones/surround sound then the side the noise comes from will indicate where the attack comes from
Any advice on how to do this in dead lands? You don't have the griffin in dead lands so I was wondering what mount and what monarch would be best for the cave assault.
I've got a separate video on dead lands that talks about mount/monarch combinations a little, but it's mostly down to your personal preference (not helpful, i know). I prefer Zangetsu in the late game, because the quicker archer attacks are useful for clearing portals/the cave quickly, but Miriam and Gebel both have good uses too. Best mount is quite tricky, haven't played in a while, but either the gamigin or beetle will be good for escaping the portal, and none of the mounts in dead lands have really useful abilities, so their mobility is probably the most important thing. (Although I do like the golem and lizard for defense, they're both slow and not great for the cave)
@@possplays thanks for the reply. I did manage to beat dead lands and I would definitely recommend zangetsu, for destroying portals and defending the Kingdom. However I think gebel, is great for the cave assault because of his bat form. The speed on his bat form is insane. Again thanks for the reply, while a bit late. I do appreciate it.
Hello great video I would like to ask a couple of questions so I'm currently on 4th island and I have max lighthouse ready tu go to island 5 if I need to (wasn't there yet) so my questions are: - what's the best island to start destroying cliff portals? go from 1 or it doesn't matter? - can I get a night wave attack during cave raid (when I'm still in the cave) ? - how far should I build the walls? almost to the cliff?
depends if you're looking to take out all portals on both sides or just the cliff side portals (which is easier). If it's just cliff portals then check out my campaign speedrunning video, which covers the island order and some other tips, otherwise I think it'll generally be the same island order. 4th, 5th, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, but it doesn't really matter, it's just handy to deal with 4th and 5th first so that you don't have to deal with them when the counter blood-moons are their hardest. Time freezes when you're in the cave, so you won't have a night wave spawn. You generally won't have to expand the walls to the cliff as your knights can cover a lot of distance in 1 day, and can usually handle a night wave without help (unless you have crown stealers/breeders/floaters regularly spawning). If you want to play it really safe, I'd expand past the 1st or 2nd portal on the fourth island, and 2nd or 3rd on the fifth. That should give you very little chance of encountering a night wave on the way to the cliff portal Hope that answers everything, but feel free to ask anything else

I have crown stealers and other greed spawning although I have so much archers and like 50 fire barrels so greed barely touches the wall, don't know what to do with money honestly, I'll expand bit further and I'll attack then. I have a question, I'm currently in 2nd island rn but the season changed and is now autumn.. do I wait till winter passes or go back to island 1 and get the griffin? Sorry for my grammar, English is not my main language.
@@KiethXy griffin is one of the best things you can buy and about seasons it doesn't really matter I think I survived winter pretty good on island 5 from start
sooooo I killed the cliffside portal 13 times on the second island expecting it to die, Then I look it up, Oh yeah I need to launch a bomb, so I make A forge and pump out around 40 fire bombs, BUT OH WAIT THEY ARENT WORKING, BECAUSE I NEVER WENT TO 3RD ISLAND So I look up a youtube and see this, And I hear I need iron, so I go to 3rd island, but oh wait I forgot to ring the bell, but I did refill my puch (My coffer had about 70 pouches full.) So Im on the new island, Tier 2 walls and no towers, during winter with no pikemen, expecting to try to rush to get off, BAM crapton of minions and now I lost. F That was my best save.
@@possplays To bad I already failed at that one to, This time it was my brothers fault because he INSISTED on going to the 4th island litearally the day before winter, then He did it while I was going to the rest room, Havnt died yet but I expect to soon.
just did it, so if you destroy the cave all the portals left on that island are dormant. they’re still there but they don’t spawn anything. the sky might turn red if you destroy a dormant one, but don’t worry it will go away in a minute or two.
Exactly, but it's worth bearing in mind that any portal you destroy makes future retaliation waves from destroying portals harder, so it's sometimes best to leave dormant portals standing.
You could try quitting and reloading, that should put you back at the start of the last day you played, either that or you'll probably have to get hit by greed until you lose your crown and get reset
I'm not sure if I escaped or not, but I'm assuming I didn't because it said I secured the Kingdom but I wasn't there and it shortly after said "No crown, No king" and I respawned on the first island.

If it's definitely the island that you lost the gems on, the only thing I can think is if you lost the gems when your crown was stolen, then you may have been unlucky and the gems were still on the floor when you got reset (rather than in a greedlings hands) and in that case I don't think you can get them back. If you didn't lose the gems when losing your crown/getting reset, then I don't know why you didn't get them back
A bit disappointing. I flew through the game. And then to enter the caves and have only regular Greed attacking. Why not some of the bigger types of monsters. Its the nest after all. Or even a unique enemy on the last cave. That would have been nice. Like the Greed king or something. But no. Its just a rinse and repeat game.
does the game get harder when you destroy portals, or only for cliff portals? Not sure if Im supposed to build up each island, and then go back and start attacking
the regular night attacks slowly get harder the more days you play, the retaliation blood moons (from destroying any portals) get harder quite quickly. So you don't have to build up every island before destroying portals, and I've got a video on some of the tactics for speedrunning the campaign which will give a better idea of what you have to do

The archers were vagrant because they stayed behind with the Knight to protect the bomb, the three villagers that walk out of the portal was already running out before that, Foolish Archers refusing to abandon their superiors, one could only assume what responsibilities the Knight took in order to ensure the safety of their men. haha lol this just came over my head
I don't have a guide for this at the moment. A couple of easy ways to gets coins are to get a lot of archers so they can go hunting outside your walls during the day to get coins, and try to build at least one farm as this gets a lot of coins too.
i tried the new lost islands challenge and i got shogun THE BAKER THE ARCHERS STATUE THE DOG and the bear which led to me dying cause of how low stamina it has in the cave even after resting can u leave the cave whit any mount ? cause i dont think the bear is possible "the cave only had 2spawners and hes fat ass still died"
