They should have gotten rid of the level cap you hit way before the game ends. It makes combat unrewarding for the last third of the game.

Sounds like they spent more time on coming up with the new title, than actually remastering the game.

They made a lot of changes. They're just more under the hood and quality of life changes as opposed to big overhauls. Like they changed how areas level with you to make it more dynamic. They added a new difficulty, and a lot of smaller changes and details that add up to something better than the original.

The did upgrade a lot of behind the scenes stuff like how loot is generated and how levels of mobs in areas are calculated.

I honestly hope that this time with the new spotlight, the game gets a chance to shine. It’s initial release was such a tragic story, it has so much potential

I put 300+ hours into KoA the first time. I bought 2 DCs. I upgraded from a 28" CRT to a 48" HD flatscreen and was stunned by how great it looked.

I wonder if this is as close as we are going to get to backwards compatibility. Was a surprisingly fantastic game, with a DEEEEEEEEP crafting system. If they keep lowering prices on rereleases compared to regular games, I’m not sure if this is an ok path forward. It just might be, but I really can’t predict it at all. Fingers crossed I guess. And a hearty recommendation to those who haven’t played the older game to try it out. Easily worth that price, but I’m also a bit prejudiced by nostalgia goggles I’m sure.

To me it looks like the remaster got pretty decent graphics update. I've just seen the comparison vs the original on PC Games's youtube channel and the remaster's graphics are much clearer and detailed and the re-shade looks great. Other than that the game has been rebalnced so that's worth mentoning considering the orignal was very easy even on hard difficulty. For owners of the original game you currently get 50% off the price so i think it's a pretty good deal for what the game is and it is over 70 hours long with a massive , beautiful and interesting world to explore.
