I feel a Mack Spinning Coaster with multiple launches and inversions for the Vortex plot of land is the best fit for Kings Island in 2025, and ultimately the right addition from Cedar Fair.

Going from Cedar Point as my home park to Kings Island as my home park. I agree what they are missing is a large launch coaster.

A coster like copperhead strike or maverick w a few more inversions would be a perfect fit at kings island in my opinion. Hopefully no dive or wing coasters

I would love to see either a Vekoma multi launch, or a tilt coaster in Vortex's plot of land!

Excellent video Brandon, thumbs up! 😃👍👍 Now, if I were to choose the next MAJOR roller coaster that Kings Island would open next, here's some of my choices: - Mack Rides Spinning Coaster - B&M Surf Coaster (similar to Pipeline at SeaWorld Orlando; paying homage to King Cobra) - Vekoma Multi-Launch Coaster - Gerstlauer Infinity Coaster

A Mack extreme spinner seems a better fit than Vekoma. Gets launches, inversions, and spinning. It’s also something unique, with only one other in the US, and that is 9+ hours away. Vortex’s land is also perfect for incorporating a station drop like Time traveler.

I still think a B&M surf named King Cobra is the most likely option for the Vortex plot. It checks all the boxes. -launched -inversion centric -plays off the nostalgia Pretty much anything but a cookie cutter Dive and we are all pumped 🔥

There are rumors that Canada's Wonderland is getting a B&M Wing Launch coaster in 2025, Kings Island may have their new one in 2026. Whatever gets built, I'm sure it will be epic.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

I would love to see another wooden roller coaster with a modern rmc

Im a huge KI fan and that is an awesome breakdown. Paying homage to history is a big thing to theme park fans. KI has done it before with the Beast and renaming Top Gun to the Bat. I'm hoping one day they find a forward and reverse loop ride to properly remember the Screamin Deamon, besides Invertigo. Also, do you have an Haunt predictions?

It would be neat to have a coaster go where the SOB station is and going pass Timberwolf and The Bat up to the front of the park, showcasing the new coaster there, Invertigo is up there by the entrance and another coaster going outside the park interacting a little with people walking into the park would be nice! Do it KI!

Kings Island needs a Ground up RMC and an inversion coaster to replace vortex. One of these coasters needs to be a record setting ride.

Call it Multi-Vortex, and have it themed to tornados!

If I had to rank what could be coming to the Vortex plot of land from most likely to least likely: *B&M:* Considering Kings Island and Cedar Fair's relationship with B&M, this is a very possible option for the park to replace Vortex. Personally I don't like this option because I feel Kings Island's B&M collection is good enough as-is and I just feel another B&M would be a bit redundant, though I know that might not stop Kings Island with going with them anyways. A Dive or a Wing might not be as likely considering Cedar Point has both of those, but it's still possible they might go with one anyways because they appeal highly to the gp. If Kings Island were to get a B&M model that Cedar Point doesn't have, it would either have to be a Flyer (unlikely since Cedar Fair has never installed a B&M Flyer in the 20 years it's been on the market) or a Surf coaster. Again, I'd like to stress that I don't personally want another B&M at Kings Island, but I do believe it would be the safest pick the park could go with. *Vekoma Multi Launch or Tilt:* Similar to Cedar Point's Wild Mouse and TT2, if Kings Island is satisfied with Vekoma and Snoopy's Soap Box Racers, they may contract Vekoma to build their next major coaster. A modern Multi Launch would fit well, but I also like the idea of a Tilt coaster being added as well. A Tilt coaster would be something more marketable and would be different enough from a B&M Dive like Valravn to justify its placement in the same state. It also helps that Vekoma coasters usually cost less than B&Ms and Mack Multi Launch coasters. The minor negative I see is that Cedar Fair just recently started working with new-gen Vekoma and may just contract them for family coasters. Though with Zamperla working on TT2, this may not end up being the case. *Mack Rides Multi Launch:* Likely if Kings Island wants another modern launch coaster and would be a safe addition considering it worked well for Carowinds. An Extreme Spinner is also probable if Kings Island wanted something more unique and marketable. The negative I see with Mack is that their coasters are known to be expensive. With Kings Island being a major Cedar Fair park that has previously spent $30 million on Orion, I do think they could have the budget for a Mack. With their last major coaster being $30 million and the amusement industry still recovering from the pandemic, I do think Kings Island may want to save a bit on their next major investment. I still think this might come to Kings Island at some point, but I don't know if it would be our next coaster. *Gerstlauer Infinity:* May be possible if Kings Island wants something with a beyond-vertical drop and be affordable, but I just don't see it. I've heard that Knott's has had issues with Hangtime ever since they put it in and I speculate that the reason they went with Gerstlauer to begin with was mainly due to the space they had to work with. If Knott's had more space to work with for Hangtime, I do believe it would've been a B&M Dive instead of a Gerstlauer Infinity. Kings Island doesn't have much of an issue regarding space, so I don't think they would need to resort to that. I feel that if Kings Island were to get a coaster that holds you over the drop, It would likely be either a B&M Dive or a Vekoma Tilt and if they wanted a launch coaster, it would probably be a Mack/Vekoma multi-launch or a B&M Surf. *Intamin or RMC:* Don't think it's likely either of these would come to Kings Island. Not only has Cedar Fair had bad experiences with both of these manufacturers, but Cedar Point is in the same state and that park already has Steel Vengeance, Maverick and Millennium Force in its lineup.

This could finally be KIs stand-out coaster! I was really hopeful Orion was going to be KIs stand out coaster much like Fury is for Carowinds, or Leviathan for Canada's Wonderland, or I305 for Kings Dominion but Orion just really doesn't do much at all in KIs line up.

It’s one of three things I’d really want to go in the Vortex plot of land: A Mack extreme spinner, an RMC of some sort, or a new gen Vekoma. I want some kind of crazy out of control roller coaster with inversions, I’m leaning towards the spinner but that one would be the most expensive option, the new gen Vekoma is looking the most likely of the three I really do not want another B&M at this park anytime soon, that’s pretty much all they’ve been getting for the past 15 years and I’m tired of B&M as a whole, they’re freaking everywhere, it’s rare for a park in America to not have one, Ohio alone has 7! As for the Son of Beast station I really like that idea of it fitting in the area you highlighted going towards the front of the park, cuz I think one day that space behind Banshee will be a whole new themed area

spent the last week at KI thinking about this . I really think it makes more sense for a coaster by the son of beast plot. The reason is all the best coasters are near rivertown /coney and that area is always packed. The park needs something to upgrade Action Zone. That area for the most part is dead.

As our home park, I think you nailed it, and I said about what you said to my son last week... It'll be Vekoma. It'll be a launch, and it'll be where the vortex was. Although the RMC is absolutely perfect and Mack rides has a hit with copperhead strike, they'll have a deal with Vekoma as you stated. 👍

It all depends on what Cedar Fair does in 2025. Knotts, Carowinds, and Wonderland are on the clock, (considering they only received one slide between them for 2024). Then there is Kings Dominion which is long over due for major coaster. I really feel those orders will be filled before Kings Island or Cedar Point receives another coaster. I don't see another coaster coming to the Ohio parks until 2027 at the earliest.

i feel like the vortex area could have a new area with two roller coasters and maybe some flat rides. the two roller coasters: a ground up RMC hybrid named Son of Beast. a BNM surf coaster named King Cobra. taking these into consideration, the area could be themed to nostalgia, as well as the flat rides

I predict an rmc conversion of the big pumpkin coaster and addition of 3 new bench and trash can sets

I genuinely hope it’s a new Vekoma thrill coaster. Maybe a wildcat model or a space warp. I just desperately want one of those new thrilling Vekoma coasters to come to the states.

So I think a Vekoma multilaunch would make sense too - given that we’ve witnessed the Wild Mouse/Dragster packaging lol. I wish it was a Mach extreme spinner, but I don’t think Cedar Fair has opened a Mach since Copperhead?

The odds of any coaster going in the plot of land where the Vortex was located is slim to none according to a former employee I spoke with. He stated the reason the Vortex was removed was because it was slowly sinking into the land due to its low lying moist area. This was part of the reason Vortex was getting rough. They were going to try to repair and "shore up" the area but it was going to cost millions to do so. This is why he thinks it won't happen in that area because it will cost millions to stabilize the ground in addition to the millions to build a new roller coaster in that area.

Looking at their "bigger" coaster installments, Diamondback in 09, Banshee in 2014, and Orion in 2020, I think the next Big one comes in 2025 the earliest, and most likely 2026, and I have no idea of what they plan to build, but I do hope it is epic!!

I could see a Zamperla Lightn Coaster coming here or a Vekoma Tilt/FLY

RMC hybrid, infinity coaster with a launch, a coaster like Cooper head strike would be. Either of these I would be fine with. There’s isn’t a whole lot missing from KI and especially if you call Kentucky kingdom and Kings Island your home park, then you really do have the best of both worlds. Small park with 2 very good smaller coasters and the other with a good mix with some of the biggest coasters in the world.

I think a Vekoma launch coaster would be the perfect ride to take the remaining space for Son of Beast. If they can build something the size of Pantheon at Busch Gardens Williamsburg or even Velicoaster at Universal's Islands of Adventure, they could give Intamin a run for their money. As for the Vortex plot of land, I think the perfect replacement that nobody talks about would be a Big Dipper coaster from Mack Rides. It's basically their version of a Gerstlauer Euro Fighter or Infinity coaster, and more parks should get one of those because it looks to have potential.

From what I heard was that cedar fair love putting big attractions in the front of the park. Something like Gatekeeper and Fury 325. I like your idea of Something in the Vortex spot. But Something in the front of the park would be nice. KI needs to Redo the entrance and Something innovative there. Remove or relocate invertigo and congo falls. Actually congo falls needs to be a little bigger and a better layout. That could be moved to somewhere around the water park.

They could totally do a wing...but with a launch..say like a more aggressive thunderbird...

I’d love to see a Vekoma launch coaster, only start with a lift hill and do 5 inversions on that half including the batwing element, then into a bunny hill and turn around then launch into a top hat that goes up, over and around the batwing. Followed by 5 more inversion so KI can take the us inversion record back.

Yes that's an awesome area for a coaster, a 200+ft RMC would be best. In theory there's enough room there to make something that 1 ups SteVe or El Toro

Talking with my friends and family, we all came to the agreement that Invertigo is one of the least popular coasters at KI and its time is probably almost up there (I personally like the coaster, its fun sitting across from others and seeing the look on their faces when it is dropped from the lifts). Also the boat ride almost is never busy, and it was down all this year. Lets for giggles sake say that those two rides are eliminated, then that just opened a whole area up, and the sky flyer could even go, now you have a wide open space usable from the park entrance all the way to that old SOB station, with the exception of drop tower. And though I hate to think it but I don't know how long The Bat service life is left, and there is only a few types of inverted pod coasters left in the world. I definitely think that area will look a whole lot different 10 years from now.

I agree that a Vekoma launch is likely, but I can’t see it being too much bigger that Energylandia’s Formula

More possible new Kings Island coasters not mentioned in your video: A Mack Hyper Looper (like Flash at Lewa World) that they could simply call "King Loop" A Gerstlauer Infinity A Vekoma Tilt coaster (Kings Island, Kentucky Kingdom, and Holiday World are all candidates for this type) An S&S Axis coaster (though I'd prefer Kings Dominion to get this type) A B&M Surf coaster (the return of King Cobra) A Vekoma Super Boomerang (only if Invertigo is removed before then) A Mack Xtreme Spinner (Kings Island is the biggest park in Ohio to have no spinning roller coaster)

I originally thought it would be cool to see kings island go for the inversion record (at-least in the USA) for the vortex plot of land with some sort of Gerstlauer.. but over the last couple of years I changed my mind. I really don’t want another major B&M at Kings Island for some time just because the parks over saturated with them. I’d rather then spend the same type of money (20 million range) and build a Mack multi launch Xtreme spinner. If they build somthing even close to what the ride to happiness looks like than it could easily be that #1 undisputed best roller coaster kings island truly deserves at this point.

I really hope they don’t go for another B&M, at least not for the next coaster. Don’t get me wrong, B&M would be cool, but there is so many other options. The potential for a coaster out of the old SOB is definitely cool thought. That’s where a RMC could go and with the potential layout you showed, could they stretch it to a front gate coaster ? Between Mack or Vekoma, I’d prefer the Mack. However would definitely be happy either way. The multi launch would be an awesome addition and need a inversion machine. After taking out two inverting coaster (Firehawk & Vortex) they need to refill that gap. Would agree as well, that it will be 2026 will be the year. I personally think we will get a updated soak city, additional water slide or something for the water park in 2025.

Honestly, I think Ceder Piont is holding Kings Island back. KI should have an RMC already. Something to take the place of Son of Beast. While I miss Vortex, the death of SOB still stings and what did we get...Mistic Timbers?

I just want a B&M flyer to replace Firehawk. Flyers are my favorite and it’s sad that there’s not more of them. It would most definitely be something different from CP, Kentucky Kingdom, Holiday World, and Dollywood. That’s my pipe dream though.

I’m so sad that CF and Intamin aren’t working together. A multi launch Intamin where the Vortex was would be perfect. An RMC Son of Beast would be amazing as well.

A new Vekoma that's a combination of Lech Coaster and Abyssus would give it a shot to rival Maverick and make it a top Coaster at KI. I like lift hills, so a LAUNCHED 125 foot lift hill with a 90 degree drop then a 75-80 mph launch midway through course with a 175 top hat or so. And SIX inversions to complement VORTEX. That too much?

I honselty, am exspecting a vekoma launched coaster, with about 11 inverisons and a 154 ft top hat with a top speed of 78.

Hopefully the next big addition is a good ride kings island doesn’t have any stand out rides yet and I think they need one

I think Cedar fair should finally bring mack multi-launch spinning coaster to their parks and KI would be great place for it in the vortex plot! Pursuit to happiness and time traveler are both awesome coasters.

Cedar Fair is not working with Intamin, nor RMC, right now. They love high capacity, general audience favorites. I could see a multi launch spinner up next.

I definitely agree that something inversion focused would be appropriate. Vortex was an Arrow looper and replacing it with a Vekoma looper would make sense as you said. I could also see a Gerstlauer Infinity coaster working very well. And a MACK extreme spinner would be a fantastic idea. However, I think the Vekoma is more likely for a few reasons. First, the possibility of a package deal with their new coaster makes sense. But also, I think the MACK extreme spinner and Gerstlauer Infinity coaster would both be something they'd prefer to put in Cedar Point if they were ever going to do either one. And I while I do think the chain favors Cedar Point over Kings Island, I don't think they'd give KI a coaster and give the same thing to CP only 3-4 years later regardless of its size. And I think that if they are considering adding either one to Cedar Point I don't think they'll want to wait for a very long time. It kind of irks me because I think a giant Infinity coaster or extreme spinner would fit in Vortex's old plot way better than they would fit anywhere at Cedar Point, even if they removed something like Gemini. That Vortex location is just prime for either of those coasters. I'm just wishing upon a star for America to have its own version of Karnan or Ride to Happiness.

I'd love to see a new-gen Vekoma multi-launch, but we can't rule out a Zamperla lightning coaster either. Zamperla released a video for their lightning launch coaster the same day they unveiled Top Thrill 2 saying they can "custom design a ride to fit your site and budget." Maybe Cedar Fair liked the planning and price of Top Thrill 2 and decided to add a 3rd coaster to their contract for Kings Island?

Vortex is not being replaced people need to understand that people have confirmed that land is just about unusable as it's sinking kis new coaster is going in the SOB plot(land clearing)or somewhere else in action zone as it just needs it more
