Saw this and Around the World on this particular JH episode here in the states when this came out in 2016…same episode had Jack White doing 2 blazing acoustic numbers, Sting, and a couple other acts. I’m a hard rock/metal drummer and have never been into bands like KOL but these 2 tunes have stayed with me…all from this episode of JH. Still listen to these 2 songs on my Apple Music regularly at the gym. Brilliant song writing and musicianship playing off of each other. Love the Jamaican flavor with Around…and the haunting message behind Waste. Mmmmm!
Wish they would make the record sound more like this than smoothing everything out like they've done on the last couple of albums. Caleb's live voice is how KOL should sound like all the time unlike the studio version which makes him sound like he's had to do elocution lessons.
***** the rawness is what they should sound like. When you get someone that has produced Coldplay it was inevitable they were going to sound similar to the last two albums.
I completely agree with you. This is the reason why I hoard KOL live show videos lol. Nevertheless, it's been amazing, "growing up together" with them. We change, so do they. For us who's been supporting them since the start, and not leave when they change, it feels like their journey is our journey too. It's good that they're experimenting. They are figuring themselves out, just like we're figuring out ours. Really can't wait for KOL7! And who knows, maybe future album will be so different and raw just like what we've been wishing for :)
+Aldebaran Hadiwisastro Great comment man! Very true, if you click back to Trani live they are skinny as feck, flat out on coke and kids really! Like a fine wine they mature, sure we yearn for the hazy day's again but we,ve been there, let's go to different places, all the places!! KoL Forever.
Tbh I saw them live in 2013 and thought they were really boring. They sounded great but there was no crowd interaction, I gt the impression they didn't want to be there.
nuggz503 amen. So good live and this is coming from a 16 year old when I first saw them I was 10. But no I didn't discover them by use somebody I discovered them with songs like taper jean and black thumbnail. They are amazing live. I can tell you honestly that the only thing they don't do is talk to the crowd a whole lot. Calebs way of showing emotion is how they play not how they interact with the crowd
All the way from Waco to WeHo With a rabbit on her chain Drove a little slick car to tend bar With the static on her brain She's a little burner, burner, gonna throw you to the flame Little ticking time bomb, time bomb, gonna blow us all away Oh, take the time to waste a moment Oh, never ask to be forgiven Tex, he was her boyfriend, with no kin Always running from the law Every other weekend, the week ends With his back in her claw He's a livewire, wired shooting sparks in the night He’s a gun for a hire, hired with a bead in his sights Oh, take the time to waste a moment Oh, facing where the lines are broken Oh, name your price to all this living Oh, never ask to be forgiven Oh, take the time to waste a moment Oh, facing where the lines are broken Oh, name your price to all this living Oh, never ask to be forgiven

Hannes Valur looks like you are right ! thanks buddy ! yeap, it's ... expansive as hell. I was like "wtf" xD I was asking this because I'm looking for a new amp. There is a lot of choice, so ... I'm looking everywhere. :) But this one is too much expansive for me haha , thanks again :)
Hannes Valur Yeah the VOX are legendary. Really clean tone for sure :) I'm thinking about the Fender Supersonic Twin (The upgrade version of the Supersonic) because it's a dream. It's like the Twin Reverb with a Drive Channel, FX Loop, vintage/modern sound, 25 or 100 Watt, in fact : everything that I love , haha. But yeah, I feel you. Matchless made a lot of great amps too ! :)
@@loganguyer658 He used them Ampegs on tours around the Only By The Night period. The last few years I've seen him use Vox and Matchles aswell but this looks like something boutique or custombuilt.
Deny it all you want but its plain as day. He just can't get it to do what it did. A voice that was once the best instrument in the band is now just ticking over like an old car destined for the scrap yard.
Ignore the deluded fans, I am an avid follower of this band and Its clear his voice has nowhere near as much power anymore, because the way he sings is destructive to his vocal cords, not to mention he is older. If any dipshits need further evidence, compare his singing from the first verse of black thumbnail at Rock Werchter in 2008 to 2011.
