The #KipAndDave show rides again! Our engineer Aaron talks tech about the TB series tube subwoofer, then it's time for a full unboxing! #kickeraudio #livinloud #tubesubwoofer TB Info: ow.ly/xEkV30jpKUR
Just installed the 10 inch version in my boat last week powered by the sub channel on a Kicker KXMA800.5 (400 w RMS @ 2 ohms) and it sounds awesome. Mounted it vertically under the end section of one of the couches on my Bennington pontoon. It sounds really tight and musical at low and mid volumes and then just pounds and kicks when cranked up on rap or electronica/dance tunes. Really couldn't be more pleased and didn't have to cut a 10 inch whole in my boat!
Really like what Kicker is doing this year. The Key will be in at least one of my daily's. Note, add Bluetooth to the Key ;). The TB's look great. Will check out the 8" when they hit the stores. Thanks for the vid. Thanks to Aaron too! I was trying to find more information and this about covered it!
Some talk stupid... but thank you all for working with Wal-Mart! Running two comp c 10s and one 12inch Round Solo-Baric classic (not from Walmart of course) all running parallel and I'm easily crushing most systems I've heard. On 700w amp.
In the market, will be mounting horizontal, but hanging from roof. My question is in a free air environment like a SXS, how much more sound/bass will you get from the 10 vs 8? The 8 is smaller and requires less power which is more efficient with my charging system.
Bass needs something to bounce off of. If the subs are hanging are hanging from the roof, they will only create a limited amount of bass unless they aim straight down. Hoppe does this with the audioshade.
Im familiar with Hoppe…. But there roof system is a cool $5,000 smackaroos…. Im just a poor fireman with a cash budget of a Grand. I have a gold cart with your kicker cvx 12 on the back bumpin to the outside world and its probably the loudest golf cart in the state of Ga…. But of course it cannot possible compete with being in a vehicle. But, i am tryin to create as much bass in an open air environment that i can, on a budget. So thats the reason i was asking about the realistic difference bewteen the 8” and 10” bass tube. It would be hanging from room horizontal between riders with sub about 8 inches from back oh heads. So to your reply, would you suggest one of your down firing subs from roof over the bass tube?
Check this out: facebook.com/groups/kickerclub/posts/5427741180571028/ This is a good example of a far less expensive solution that will give you some bass. It's a full system, but you'll get the idea.
What is the point of the passive and radiator sub. Whats what. Is one a sub and other just a filter. Is 1 sub designed for low lows and the other sub for hier lows?
Jeremiah hodge the radiator lets a sub play deeper and louder in a smaller enclosure. It’s what lets the box be so small yet sound like a much bigger box.
can you buy the bass radiator for this or the qmb8 for a custom installation. i had bought the qmb8 for a install in my focus rs and wanted to also mount some under the seat of my raptor, but they are to big.
The rms is 600 watts for those two subs. We recommend being within 20% of that number. The closest thing we have to that is the CXA800.1. www.kicker.com/CXA8001-800-Watt-Mono-Class-D-Subwoofer-Amp
Would my Kicker Mono 750 push two 10inch enclosures? I'm trying to free up some space in the back of my jeep, and still want a hard hitting sub sound like the box I have. I'm in a JKU so I know I may already be base heavy with 2 10's. Thanks, Justin P. See you guys @ Kicker Stampede
Can you tell me the manufacturer and model of the subs and the model number of the amp? I can do some math with that info and make sure you've got the right gear.
It might but a better fit would be kicker L7s with a single cab box bc on 1k watts they sound insanely good and fot behind your passenger seat and you can mount the amp on the wall of the inside behind the seat and get a mechman 250 alternator and 4 guage wire and got u a small good sounding system especially the 12s and 10s
kicker has an anechoic chamber? it seems kind of pointless for a car audio company to have one of those. if you guys made audiophile speakers then l could understand but you really don't need that for car audio since in car audio you get tons of road noise and you're sitting out of the car's ideal listening position.
This performs much of the same functions as an anechoic chamber (without costing the MEGA $$$$ it takes to build one). We go to this length because we want to eliminate as much of the room as possible acoustically while evaluating speaker sound quality. Yes, we are not the most expensive company out there, but we care very VERY much about the sound quality of our gear, from the most to the least expensive driver we make. It's true that we could very easily just buy some pre-made speaker, box it up and ship it out with nothing more "Kicker-ish" about it than the logo. But we don't. We engineer it here in the US, we QC it here, we test it here. Hopefully - that gives you a glimpse into how much we care about delivering good sound!
oh l wasn't talking about being an expensive company, as far as car audio kicker along with rockford fosgate are my favorite. you guys are a top player in the car audio industry. it's great that you guys have one, l am just saying that l was surprised that you did have one because it's not needed in the car audio world. l know you guys care about sound, l think in sound demos your speakers sound best. it's just that any speaker will under preform once you put it in a car. l know it sounds like l am bashing or trying to be a dick, but l am not trying to be. lol
It’s all horizontal mounting??... maybe vertical mounting is just too difficult to say for them. Horizontal is all, vertical can’t be vertical anymore, think a protest is in the works
You guys should start competing with sundown, fi, and competition car audio companies. Start offering better quality products, for affordable prices and you will see massive growth in the market especially amongst audio enthusiasts , probably less amongst the budget crowd. Doesnt mean you have to phase out the cvr and cvx
rob shekelberg have you seen The Cube? It'll do high 160s. JY ran it non stop and people had to tap out. All on stock Kicker gear run into RMS, not peak. The point is that with good tuning, solid construction and proper power management our gear does just fine despite being made to be extremely musical and efficient. Now, that said, we're not saying that something isn't necessarily coming down the pipe. We sponsored all the major SPL finals last year. We helped make The Cube and we came to Slamology for the very first time. Why did we do all that after being out of it for a decade? I'd ask that you read between the lines.
kinda bullshit.. first it's not exactly the same 10 comp r that u buy off the shelf. it has soldered contacts not spring loaded .2nd upper frame where grill is its molded on the speaker and made for the grill.. its different than just the sub bought off the shelf.. and that 10 is junk.. mine burnt frozen in less than an hour.. when I took it apart I saw that it's not the same sub
