Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe Nintendo Switch Review - Is It Worth It? 

After Forgotten Land, now this, I think we need to give these guys the Mario Sports games

This magolor guy is really nice, he's probably going to help make the final boss easier.

This game looks incredible! I love the 3d Kirb , but fast side scrolling 2-d with minigames is awesome.

After playing through the demo, I definitely will buy a physical copy

Didn't watch the video yet and the answer is: YES. Yes it is worth it. The game was amazing then and the new aesthetic and added features for this one are likely only going to make it much better.

I lost my original Wii copy of the game along with the console itself over a decade ago after moving so much. This game was a *HUGE* part of my high school. I remember watching the E3 trailer of the game everyday with some of my friends. I had a blast playing it when I first got it, and even moreso when I replayed it with my friends. Though Air Ride was technically my first Kirby game, and Squeak Squad along with Super Star Ultra were the first two mainline titles I played, Return to Dream Land was my first true experience with a Kirby game. I'm excited to relive that experience again with a gorgeous artstyle, and interesting new modes.

I never played the original Return to Dream Land either. Didn't even know Kirby got a Wii game until many years later so I'm really excited to play this for the first time!

To me this game should be a 10/10 game, not only because it was my first ever Kirby game, but because this game is so GOOD! And the amount of content this game had on the wii and all of the new content the Deluxe brings sounds delightful! And to be honest waiting two more days for the game to release is AGONIZING! I really want to play it man.

Already pre ordered this game. I haven't played this in such a long time & now that i have a switch, i can happily play my childhood game all over again in a new way

Finally! A review of this game from a reviewer who knows their Kirby. I'm not a die-hard Kirby fan but it's really weird seeing so many reviews stating "it's not very challenging" as a negative for a Kirby game, kinda like giving Elden Ring a 7/10 cuz "it's too challenging".

I can definly see why some people are exidet for this,the new content this remastered introduce look's very cool

I would love to see Triple Deluxe and Planet Robobot remastered to look like this at some point. Not sure since this seems like it could be the last kirby game on the switch. I expect there to be a new 3D game on whatever the next Nintendo console is

This game was my favourite as a kid. I’m happy that they added multiple Kirby’s in multiplayer. Always had to take turns with my friends lol

I remember getting this game for my 8th birthday. Despite not being one of my first video games, it holds a lot of nostalgia for me as this was my first home console game in the series as well as my first co-op game I loved to play with friends. This remaster seems to do the original game justice, and I am excited to play it all over again! (Once I finally beat Forgotten Land that is... It's been a busy college year lol)

I loved how they gave the Magolor his own gameplay story.

Loving this game all over again. Hoping we get more minigames in the future. I would love 100 Yard Dash.

How is no one talking about the price point? I simply don't see paying 60€ for a remaster (+added content) of a 12 year old game, when I recently payed 50€ for forgotten lands, which was a complete new concept which was breaking new grounds for kirby as a whole.

I look forward to amiibo support for Return to Dreamland Deluxe.

The extras have really sold it to me, am happy to double dip in this one. Maybe they'll do Wario The Shake Dimension too, that game has me hooked until 100% completion.

I’m playing this game now for the first time and it absolutely shocked me how good it is. I’ve been looking for a game that’s been pulling me back to play more and more. This game was it for me. Gets me interested in the other Kirby games as I only played forgotten land and the nes game.

There’s also “true arena” that includes the EX bosses and the magolor bosses too

I never had a Wii so didn't play the original. This looks like classic Kirby I love :D Hoping for a sale, but doubt that will happen anytime soon. I love remakes that just refine and make an old game even better.

Interesting how IGN/Gamespot gave this a *7/10,* whereas Nintendo Life, unsurprisingly, gave it a *9/10* (I thought it was going to be a 10/10 based on all that praise. lol). For me, I've *never* been a "Kirby fan" and it never was a franchise that I would "go out and buy to play", however, my little brother is a Kirby fan and has played a bunch of them, so what I would do is, whenever he has finished playing any Kirby game meanwhile I'm extremely bored and have nothing else to play in the meantime, I WOULD sometimes borrow those games and play them till the end of the story campaign. Most of them are "all right", but again, I don't see myself going to buy them myself (so if my brother doesn't buy them, I'm not likely to play them at all).

So excited to get this again. Day one, baby! Also, Star Allies' biggest problem was definitely the companions. Glad for classic Kirby returning. Can't wait for GBA to get some Kirby titles

this is my favorite game of all time. if youre worried at all about being able to enjoy it without friends, dont worry! it holds up just as well as any other kirby game solo- and for me, better than any other!!

This isn't the single best Kirby game but it is my favorite. The big question is if it has enough content for a 60 dollar price tag for someone who played the original to death.

Even though I consider myself a real Kirby fanboy, I actually thought I was going to skip this game, because I thought it would feel like double dipping, and because I played the vanilla version just a few weeks ago. However, after playing the demo I was like 'damn you Nintendo, how can this be so much fun' and immediately pre-ordered the friggin game. It really is that good in my opinion and well worth the 40 € I spent on the physical copy, even for fans of the original, and especially for everyone not familiar with the Wii version.

the thick black outlines really helps this game. Really mimics the beautiful look of the GBA games.

I don't know how Nintendo does it but they always put out some of the best absolutely CLEAN looking Switch games. Hal Labs continues to impress

If one just wants to play mainstory? Definitly worth. I started a savefile(Only did the mainstory as of right now, not extra mode yet) on the Wii original a short time before buying this and one just notices how barebones it feels compared to the later games. No guarding, no going into the air on a spin attack, pressing A underwater does not make swimming faster but rather causes Kirby to swim up a bit. All these early game-quirks changed to the current 2D Kirby standard in Deluxe. I can't say anything about the new postgame stuff tho because I am not that far yet and the minigames are honestly a minuspoint for me actually. The moment you introduce that many achivements, the minigames stop being about the casual experience for me personally. And the achivements are only fun for like 70% of it, the rest is pure agony(sometimes downright RNG-hell) to the point where I just cannot recommend this sidecontent. Even with my overly sensitive controller-setting on Emulator that makes aiming a pain, I'd much rather play Scope Shot again over any of the newly added minigames with how the experience has been completely tainted.(Though I get that this is really a me-thing)

I got the game voucher, which will be Kirby game and the tears of the kingdom game

Asking the deep questions, is anything worth it?

"if you're using the analog stick" See, that's the problem. Analog sticks shouldn't be used in 2D games at all. If you do, you're only hurting yourself because a Dpad is much more precise when it comes to select a specific direction like "right", of course (I understand joycons doesn't have a proper dpad but it's still better than an analog stick) . If you're using an analog stick because you're used to it, just try to use the dpad for a while and you'll see you'll perform much better.

At the ripe old(ish) age of 59 I can't wait to get my hands on my copy of this game later today, Amazon please don't let me down... I'm lucky enough to have the Xbox Series X and PS5 but it's my OG* switch that is my console of choice most of the time. *as you youngsters** might say. ** by 'youngsters' I mean anyone under the age of 40.🙂

I wish I didn’t have to hold down the Y button to remove a copy ability. Is there a way to change that in the settings?

Judging from this footage and the demo, the load times are 3 times as long as the Wii version. Seems a bit excessive and could be quite annoying after some time. Not to mention it's lacking some quality of life updates I would've liked to see, such as super abilities not pausing the game during the animation, always put a downer on multiplayer.

I honestly prefer the visuals of the original game (when running at higher resolution/framerate on something like Dolphin). I think the outlines and some of the other visual tweaks, while not "bad", do hurt more then they help.

I’m sure this version is great, and it certainly looks sharp, but I’m glad I grabbed the original on the eShop before it shuts down. Saved $40 for pretty much the same game.

I sincerely hope Kirby gets an exreme hard story mode in the future. Kirby is cool, but way way too easy.

Ive never even owned a Kirby game. I have played demos and ones on the Nintendo Switch Libraries though, but I have never owned an actual physical copy or anything. I need this game, it looks so good. I have already enjoyed the demo. I do also want Forgotten Land, and I still don't even have Star Allies yet, XD. This game is a perfect example of how a remake SHOULD be done. Not just updating graphics and what not, but adding so much more to it. Even another story.

I know it's been two months but I just can't believe that HAL managed to do a better job at remastering a Wii game than SEGA (I know the issues have been fixed but for me Colours Ultimate is a bit disappointing)
