@@zacharytomes5202 Someone should edit all of Ace's lines and build a new movie around them. They couldn't seem any more out of place than they do here in the actual movie.
Ace's character was originally written as mute because the writers of the movie followed Ace around for a couple of weeks to get an idea of his character and he wouldn't say anything to them, so kind of out of spite, they wrote him as mute, only saying "ACK". Ace was furious when he found out, but who can blame them?
despite of all the stories of him and peter being big mouths behind Gene and Paul's back. I always those peter was more of a quiet one. I guess they hung with him where was not chatting it up with pete.
Hanna Barbera were blind to realize KISS is about rock and roll, not about making children drink their vitamins and sing their prayers. I think HB were more coked out of their mind than Peter Criss.
According to the band, they were never given scripts since it was a TV movie. They would shout out “Line!” & then someone behind the cameras would feed the actors their lines. If they spoke the dialogue decent enough (regardless of KISS’ lack of acting skills) without any flukes, or was a take & they moved on. Talk about half adding.
Brion James is the cop with the stache and long hair. Would go on to play villains throughout the 80s , most notably Blade Runner, 48 Hrs, and The Horror Show.
As "off-the-wall" or "silly" as some people may find this film (to me, it's a RARITY!), as a fan of the ORIGINAL, NOT TODAY'S, but the ORIGINAL KISS, I'll ALWAYS love THIS film (UNLESS, UNLESS I become "born again!")!
People dont' realize there was no cable no MTV just rock magazines and some rock shows on weekend so this was a BIG event back then for kids teenagers. It was exciting. things today in rock and TV just are NOT!
In the early 80's this got replayed on TV a lot and I thought it was awesome (as a 5 year old). I don't know why KISS is so ashamed of it and against it getting the DVD treatment. It's a product of it's time.
It's not his voice in the film because he never showed up to do looping (which is when during the original shoot an actor's voice isn't 100% audible; and the actor goes back to the studio to re record their dialogue over the footage). Therefore they had to get a sound-alike to record over Peter.
Intelligible I said I thought about a bunch of them streamers I said turning the other possible RU-vid mate then tell me about everything you said that text to him where do they buy German military Mahnomen gout I talking about Walmart I said I said bye do it right for this I said why How to do that 1 minute I said by me I know we get it instead of Bugs Bunny Ted why me Dana is my name You and me let's say I said yeah what will you do this to me we believe it Note Everything understand I said sad I going to say again understand I said with me everything you know it
why can't someone post the whole movie????? C'MON MAN.......I wish they would make another one even if it would be as cheesy as this was. Those were great times, smuggling extra people in the trunk and on the floor of the car under a blanket with a case of beer, a bucket of chicken and a bag of weed at the drive in. best of times! The band won't even talk about it because they said the studio was so incompetent with the project that it was the final straw that broke up the band. They were total super heroes.
"Why can't someone post the whole movie?" Why can't people understand what "copyright infringement" is? Go ahead and try to post the whole movie yourself. But why are people so squeaky cheap that they want free shit on RU-vid?
@@phil734 I know right. He's literally watching this clip on a smartphone or computer but can't afford to pay $20 or less for it on DVD or stream it for free using a movie APK.
Thirty six years ago today, May 19 1978, they filmed this ,"hokey", NBC Saturday night movie special at Magic Mountain theme park just North of L.A. in a parking lot right behind the roller coaster, Colossus. Won my tickets on then the, "Mighty Met", 94.7 KMET D.J. Jack Snyder, "Jackson B. Snyderfish". Seems just like yesterday.....
It seems a bit strange to me how Kiss still hangout by the pool in their off-time, together, still wearing their make-up from last night's gig and for some odd reason, identical, full-length silver robes...well worn gentlemen... clearly the set designer was robbed of his/her Oscar.
I watched this on NBC when it first came out in 1978, I recorded it on my tape deck and listened to it over and over. Now, I’m 57, I’ve seen it more times than I can remember and my God, the acting IS that bad 🤣 but I’ll always be a KISS fan
thats not even peter criss' voice. for those of you who dont know, gene said in an interview that his new york accent was so thick, they have to dub it over with somebody elses.
dude, the quality on the audio and video is great. all the other clips I find are the usual VHS quality, which I dont mind but its nice to be able to see whats going on in detail lol.
I have a bad feeling if David Lee Roth's "Crazy from the Heat" movie had happened, it would've turned out a lot like this. Maybe Eddie and Alex were right.
KISS could have a good movie, not having the band acting but having good actors portraying the starchild, demon, catman and spaceman! A awesome storyline and bingo! Epic movie :)
After their "Love Gun" album release in 1977, it was ALL DOWNHILL from there. They went from being a "rock band" to some stereotypical Hanna-Barbera Saturday morning kid's cartoon parody version of themselves. Pow, flash, wizz, bang, superhero powers, action figure toys, school notebooks, lunchboxes, bubblegum cards, posters, halloween costumes, NBC Movie Of The Week, transistor radios, hell.....write'em into an episode of Scooby-Doo or SuperFriends, it'll be a SMASH. 😂😂
The actors in this film should've been a tell all from the beginning. Who was the casting director on this? TV Commercial actors all came calling for a part on this movie. This movie could've been really great. Hollyweird strikes again! Great job and who in the hell changed Peter's voice? Shameful!
Brion James @ 0:55 Seconds ( Guard...pointing to Gene and saying 'It was Him!") Recognize him?...been in a million 'character actor' roles...big films. Lol!.....Who knew...he was in this! Must have been one of his first...
When they first showed this, I recorded the soundtrack by propping a tape recorder up against the TV speaker. I listened to that stupid tape probably fifty times. No VCRs back in those days (well, I guess some people had 'em, but they were crazy expensive), so we had to improvise. Even as a kid and the world's biggest KISS fan, though, I knew this movie was pretty bad. Paul's acting is painful, mostly because you can really see him trying.
Great 70's tv movie of week. every kid in school was watching this and talking about it next day. of course us KISS fans got flake from Zep fans but we didn't care at least KISS had a movie! Anthony Zerbe was fantastic as the bad guy.
