WOW... Born in "65" and those vintage pix took me back. (Ahh the 70's... as I grow older it saddens me) What an UNbelievable time KISS must of had, all the fame/attention yet anonymity thanx to the make-up. Back when albums were mailed to your house for a penny (TIME LIFE) my neighbor gave me KISS ALIVE II... I was 11 and I was hooked. Take me back
I'm 49 and I heard Destroyer in 1976 and I was hooked. You're totally right about there fame and anonymity. No one that wasn't born then can understand it. How they could walk the streets without being recognized. Wouldn't work today with all mobile phones with camera.
Johnny Perez What's up all you Kiss folks out there! I am 50 & I too went nuts when Ace, Gene, Peter & Paul got hold of me! First album I ever got was Alive 2 & I literally wore it out! I remember one time I showed my Grandmother the back of the album cover she looked at it and said " Ugh they are beasts " Ya know what? She was right!!! Keep on rockin folks!
I have NEVER heard this !! It’s an awesome tune. The vintage KISS photos were amazing. It looked like they were having so much fun at that time. On top of the world. IMO, the early KISS will always be the BEST ! Thanks for the memories you guys !
I like this song -- good chord changes and catchy vocal melodies. The band could've really worked up this tune for an official album release if they wanted to, and I'll bet the fans would totally dig it.
Is this an early version of Mr. Speed? Maybe. Very similar indeed. Funny I thought I knew everything Kiss.... Go figure, there is always something to learn. Really great pics/video thanks for posting, a nice treat!
The Smoke is great! With or without their warpaint, and bombs, and pyro, KISS music rocks! Detroit Rock City, Strutter, Black Diamond, Love Gun, God of Thunder, Rock And Roll All Night, Shout It Out Loud, Beth, Deuce, etc., have stood the test of time and always will! KISS ROCKS!
Cold Gin is great. So is Nothin' To Lose, 100,000 Years, She, Magic Touch, Strange Ways, Shock Me, etc. Yes, Lindsey, KISS music is great and classic hard rock! Personally, my favorite KISS classic is Detroit Rock City.
Jeff Railey you forgot their best songs..... i was made for loving you.... shandi.... she's so european...... ok ok you can stop laughing now, yes i'm joking!!!!
Ace reminds me a lot of a neighbor of ours back in Belle Harbor. His name was Billy Corning. They're both native New Yorkers. They're around the same age. They're both part American Indian. They enjoy a similar sense of humor. Best of all, though, they both abide by the same hang-loose, rock-and-roll attitude! Long live them both!
I hear a few things in here. At the start I hear Mr Speed at lower register and later around the 30 secs Shout it out Loud. I say Mr Speed because as a drummer it is one of my favourite riffs off all time and this use to annoy many guitarists who could play Jimi Hendrix etc and it may be simple but it for me it is the perfect riff.
Took a while, but I finally got some answers about this. My source is working on a book covering 1973-1983, and he got his information right from their old tour manager, JR Smalling. This was recorded at Magna Graphic Studios in August 1975. It's Paul, Gene, and Ace playing on this, with JR on drums.
kissed61 "Don'cha Hesitate" is from the same period, around the time "Alive!" came out, and it's not much different from this. Remember, "Destroyer" sounds different because of Ezrin. This song and "Don'cha Hesitate" were demoed before he had any influence over the material they were presenting to him.
Yerblues 87, this is absolutely amazing! I am 43 yrs old and a huge Kiss fan. this is sooo great. I am very disappointed in myself. I have never heard this song. I have every album and have been into Kiss since I was about 10. again, great great great job here!
As our heroes, and all of us get older, let's remember those great times, the passion and loyalty for our favorite band, the R and R, and the sheer fun of it all. This is a very cool slide show, bringing back SO many memories. Thank you YERBLUES87 !
Awsome Awsome Awsome This song is Great...Clip is Amazing...Always great to see some KISS footage that I've not seen before...just shows the Absolute Power these guys had back in the day...Imagine it...AWSOME...Ohh to be there...You are a Legend for uploadind this...THANX
Oh my god I love this song. Why did this song not make any of the albums? Or for that matter, at least the box set that already had a bunch of unreleased songs on it. Please KISS put this on an album.
You're right, Alexandernero666! I was turning the tune around in my head a bit ago, and I thought the same thing-you posted exactly what I was gonna! Heh heh heh! Good lookin' out. Maybe structurally similar to "Love 'Em and Leave "Em", especially with the phaser on the same setting. Whaddya think, might EVH have cribbed that idea from Ace? Just speculation on that last bit, but I wanna get a second opinion either way. Again, good call!
These photo's are f%&king amazing. I thought I'd seen just about everything, where did you get these? Love Gene at 2:10 ,very expressive. The guys in front of the record shop at 2:47 awesome shot(summer 76?) & best of all,Guitars backstage at 1:30 .......that is one Very,VERY cool photo. Thank you so much YERBLUES, absolutely incredible, very well done.
This does sound like something that might have been recorded for Dressed To Kill or maybe Destroyer... I was thinking Mr Speed as well...which was demoed during the Dressed sessions originally. Anyway...it is a great tune....and the video u made is top notch!!!!!
Very interesting. Huge old Kiss fan and I had never seen most of the photos. Some would have made great posters. I have never heard that song either and again, I thought i knew them all.
