In this first tutorial for KISSlicer 1.6 I show you how easy it is to get started by using the new Wizard feature to create profiles for your printer, materials, styles and supports - all within a few minutes! I then slice one of my 3D printed fly fishing reel parts and print it with the generated profiles to show you how great the defaults are.
NOTE: I am still learning how to record video, audio and screen captures and editing them into quality videos. Each one is getting better so please bear with me!

Thank you for posting this tutorial! I'm very new to 3D printing, so this was very helpful and easy to understand

Thanks. I still love KISSlicer and the company is still working on enhancements. But new printers with integrated slicer software like the Bambu printers are really taking the lead. I was an early Bambu customer and their slicer - based on PrusaSlicer which is based on the original Slic3r - is very good, especially when combined with all of the sensor technology (lidar, etc) in the printer! What 3D printer and firmware are you using?

@@AHackOfAllTrades That's pretty neat stuff! I'm using a Kingroon KP3S hotbot. It's very small and compact but precise. I'm not sure what the firmware type is, I still don't know much about this type of thing. I'm having fun figuring everything out though

Stupid Q here, can I assume you might be going through the tuning wizards as well? I'm so glad these videos are popping up. Thank you so much.

Not a stupid question, a good question! Yes, I am planning on going through all of the new wizards. I'm new to video creation but it is getting easier (and better) with each new video so I hope to make rapid progress. If you have specific wizards you'd like me to cover first let me know.

would be nice if the individual paths were a little better shaded. Very hard to make out individual paths when they're all the same colour.

Great video. But whats the default speed? As i normally print at 60/80mm/s
@AHackOfAllTrades
@AHackOfAllTrades 6 лет назад
Derek, the wizards take a conservative approach to "speed" with a max of 60mm/s for infill. But this is something that you would normally modify/tweak when you are ready to slice a model.

No matter the mouse button used, all i can do is move the veiw of the window. Cant rotate or move the part on the bed. Any ideas?

You move the model on the bed using the Profile Settings window. In the right side is a big button that says Center. On either side of it are sliders to move. You rotate a model on the model Thumbnail on the right side of the window. There is a box with up/down arrows labeled ° (for degree rotation).

I just made a blog post with a description of EVERY field and how to set it on my blog: www.sublimelayers.com/2017/10/kisslicer-2-minutes-and-45-seconds-from.html You should be able to create a set of profiles from scratch in less than 3 minutes for any reasonable (RepRap) 3D printer using this guide.
