In this tutorial, I show you how to improve your prints using new features and old standbys in KISSlicer 1.6.
I decided to do this video in one cut start to finish to get some practice and to save editing time as there is a lot of information to get through. Let me know what you think in the comments below.
There is a loop feature called Fractional Number of Loops in KISSlicer 1.6 that I don't discuss in this video because I've already blogged about it. I HIGHLY recommend learning about (and using) Fractional Number of Loops: www.sublimelayers.com/2017/09/...
The single layer test part is actually 75mm diameter, not 50mm as I say in the video. You can download it here: forum.seemecnc.com/download/fi...

Fantastic video here, it's what made me decide to give kisslicer a try. And boy definitely was not a mistake I was kicking around the idea of getting simplify3d until I stumbled across this slicer and I'm so happy that I did I've done a few prints over the weekend and they've turned out absolutely fantastic better than any other slicer that I've used to date. And I am seriously considering getting the pro version just to help support the makes of kisslicer. Yeah it's really that good. I've always had a problem printing petg, the nozzle always being covered with some of the material I assume from oozing. Even changing retraction settings and temperature I still had an issues but with this slicer I had almost none on the nozzle tip the wiping feature that it does is amazing. Not to mention the fractional layers and how it ties in the inner walls with the perimeter just really cool stuff My only complaint would be the user interfaces what you would say outdated looking, some of the features and settings are definitely different than anything I've used and it's been a really challenged understand it but thanks to your video is help shed some light on that I definitely hope you continue making your video so I can better understand some of the settings. I've Googled trying to find some answers but with this new version that they've come out with there's not a whole lot of information on it Looking forward to your future videos and thanks again for taking the time to make them Oh and anyone reading this thinking about trying This slicer .. DO IT!!!!

great tutorials! I use kisslicer 1.5 and it is my first choice in slicing but I have 2 main problems: I use loop last as I need correct geometry measure... the external geometry is correct but the internal (for example holes) it isn't; is there any setting in kisslicer to solve this problem? the second is that in small circle the extrusion in loops is poor (it seems under extrusion) and I don't know why this happens...

Giuseppe Schiuma firstly, upgrade to 1.6! As for your question, often the issue is with the STL file itself. Curves are represented by short straight line segments. So depending on the way the model was sliced, small circular/curved details can be too small in the print. Of this is your design, tesselate with a very high polygon count. Search my blog for “STL” to r ad a detailed post I made on exactly this.

Hi, congrats for your videos, they are very well done, you explained things very simply. If I can suggest you something, that would be nice if you could show some prints or some pictures to show for example the end result of the seam (compared to the ones in kisslicer) when you change the depth, gap, joinloop... and all those parameters (I know, it's a lot of work to include pictures, but it's so more explicit, I've also got a youtube channel for my prusa i3 MK2) Go on with your nice videos, I can't wait the next ones Thank you, and subscribed !!

Thanks Woody3dP - that's an excellent idea. I actually did do that in the first tutorial on Getting Started to show how good the results from the Wizards really are. I am working on a video now on infill and I'll include printed parts in that.

Hey Michael, your videos are on point , but example prints would be great to show the dependencies between settings and result. I'm struggling right now with the depth/gab settings and I don't see differences during changing values.

Thanks, I am going to work on adding more photos. One thing you can do is watch the effect on screen in the path view. Also, test the extremes of the setting to make it more obvious to see. It is VERY difficult to see and photo the subtle difference between some of these settings.

Yes of course.

Hi Michael, why do you use 3,5 numbers of loops? Shouldn't be always integer digit?

KISSlicer 1.6 has a new feature - fractional loops. You can read all about it and understand why it is SO cool here: www.sublimelayers.com/2017/09/kisslicer-16-fractional-loops-lunacy-or.html
