I found your channel a few days ago, and I have been spending every free second gorgeing myself on your videos...they are invaluable to newbies like myself!
You're welcome! Either will be great. It depends on your market and the type of people you will be working with. I prefer the #11 because I work with mostly lighter skin tones and it works well for that. I do supplement that palette with darker tones from other brands (cinema secrets, face atelier) to make sure I have a full shade range.
In my experience no, i've seen every range of skin tone and some in between warm and cool. You also have to account for lighting sometimes when you are shooting. Sometimes certain undertones of product will look better under certain lighting set ups, so have all of it in your kit!
Hi Angie, thank you for sharing such useful information! I want to ask about the Blotterazzi tool: How do you recommend we sanitize it in between clients? Can we use alcohol? Sorry if this has been answered before.
Hey Angie! I wanted to ask you if you have ever experienced flashback with RCMA powder. I want to purchase a powder to set and bake and I am worried about flashbacks.
Hi Soti! I have never experienced that with any of the powders I use in my kit. Be careful how much powder you are applying on anyone who goes on camera (i'm not sure what type of work you do) too much of any powder on the skin is not idea and will cause a white cast on the skin.
Thoughts on using safety razors instead of the disposable razors? They aren't made with multiple blades and easier to clean+disinfect and better for the environment (not constantly having to be tossed and the blades are recyclable instead)
I would absolutely not be comfortable having a client use a safety razor. When dealing with shaving the skin you are now crossing into territory where blood may be potentially drawn and i'm not willing to take the risk of passing anything blood borne. In this situation the potential to spread anything trumps the environmental concern of disposable razors (keep in mind, the razors are rarely used in my experience). There is also a learning curve with using a safety razor which could cause more problems than you are anticipating.
Angie Di Battista Definitely makes sense! Disposables it is; thank you!! The knowledge in your videos and blogs have seriously been the most useful, really appreciate what you've been providing 😍
I used to airbrush many years ago and I don't like working with it, it's also another thing for me to carry. If I was in one place for a longer amount of time (working on a tv show etc.) I may consider it but I just overall find it annoying to work with and the results to me are not worth the hassle. As far as the Graftobian foundation palette I haven't used it enough to recommend it. Lots of people love it so maybe search for some more reviews online to see if it is something you may want to consider. With anything you have to think about if it works for the jobs you do, your makeup application style, and if it is easily accessible and affordable to purchase - all of us like different products and have different ways of working.
