Just a quick thank you Adam. Your you tube reviews inspired my interest in armour collecting. I recently have taken delivery of 1/16 Trumpeter JagdTiger and King Tiger kits. Not built yet, waiting for more practice with painting using the 1/35 kits. Watching you tube a lot these days. Again, thank you. Al.
You don’t need them for the Jadgtiger, but for the KT, you definitely need the AFV Club 1/16 hull ammo correction set. The kit rackets would put the putter row of ammo into the turret hole, meaning you can’t set the turret down if you do.
Good video and review. And job well done re-editing it with the updates. I was watching yesterday and got just past the turret potion of the instructions. Came back later to finish it and it was gone! And I for one appreciate the amount of research you put into this stuff... its very helpful.
You should start to do some videos on how you go about painting / weathering your Tiger Kits . I enjoy your reviews , but a few builds would be great and break up the reviews . Thanx
That was a good thorough review Adam. Well done. One of these days I'm just going to buy a run of the mill Tamiya Tiger, paint it OD Green, put some fuel drums from a T-62 on the back and use some stickers from a British Spitfire. Then I'll enter it in a show just to watch the Tiger fans go insane with anger. lol
Just a note: The whit 217 for Otto Carius is in the kit, but the front elephant symbol is missing. If you have the Tamiya's Early Tiger kit, which I do, the symbol is in that kit, which I'm planning on making Otto Carius's Dark Yellow Tiger. Just be noted though, that Tiger somewhere down the line, acquired the smooth faced initial/early matlet. I found out too late since I already attached the mid-production mantlet. As for zimmerit, plenty 3rd parties now make zimmerit stickers, which I got a set from Amazon for like $6! Save you a lot of headaches, especially if you can't make them on your own.
I choose the earlier turret with its added detail, I could care less what is correct all I know is what appeals to me. I also used the hl210 instead of the hl 230 because I had the actual coolant and and fan drives shafts, it is a 50bhp difference and the the 210 used a aluminum engine block versus cast iron of the 230, so weight difference overcomes output ratio
Adam you was talking about the s hook on the deck never say never. when you are in war you tend to place your tool where it More convenient for your crew when I was in the army I was a gunner in a M1 Abrams when we got to Iraq and Afghanistan the 1st thing we did was custom our tank to our needs we removed and added stuff to the tank I mean we customized our tank to our crew needs .I have talk to tanker from all over the world it the same thing. sometimes. In war You do a lot of scavenging and customizing that's your home . Hell I had a 8 by 10 picture of Rommel in my tank. But awesome video thanks for your hard work with the videos they are very helpful Even for the older guys.
Well made video Adam. Could you please check to see if the spacing of the guide teeth on the sprue is double the spacing of the tracks when made. If they are that may ease the assembly of the tacks by holding multiple teeth in place for gluing then getting another sprue of teeth and fill in the rest. I had an A10 British Cruiser with tiny links in alternate types. They were the same spacing on the sprue so allowed 6 or more to be done at once. This may be the same with Ryefield’s.
It's amazing how people think the new Tunisia tiger's turret is completely new tooling S sprue when it's exactly from this 217 kit whare they changed it from 2 half's to just 2 inside half's and slide turret! Interesting all the same yours done in both grey and the horrid sandy colours that runs of pigments into your glue it melts so bad! Always advised a separate bottle of glue doing rfm kits! It only stopped really on the interior sherman kit that plastic was nice to work with!
I'm still out here, got lots I'm working on. But have become involved in a few panzer restorations so the research for those has taken up some of my little free time. But I appreciate the kind words, and I will certainly make more videos.

Hi Adam, I love your channel and your no nonsense approach. I have been umming and rring over a tiger and which one to go for also which company, in your opinion which is the best tiger model out there ? And please don’t worry about me coming back and saying ooh this was wrong are that !! I just want a really good detailed model ( don’t mind full interior ) which is a great example of to me one of the prettiest tanks ever made. I know, I’m mad but that’s me. So which one.... and Adam... again please keep doing what you do, like I said just love your channel, interesting, fun, historical, everything really. If you want exterior only I'd go Dragon. Depending on the era of Tiger the kit numbers vary. 6700 is good for a mid, 6730 is good for an early and 6383 is good for a late. I do however replace the tracks on all of these. If you want exterior Rye Field is the way to go. I say go Dragon, either the 6730 or 6820. Very new toolings and very accurate as they work with my friend David Byrden on accuracy.

Having watched your channel now for some time I’d guessed you preferred Dragon but didn’t like there tracks ( no hollow horns ) friulmodel tracks seem to be very popular at the moment but quite a few new companies coming through now too. Thanks for the review Adam once again...has anyone done a detailed build of this model painted and weathered...I can't find any evidence on youtube...before I commit....only one I can find is at SCALE MODELS AND FIGURINES... I am not here to comment on that build. not to take away from a fellow modeler but I am looking to find a build from a Tiger Natic of this model!...Anyone......
Some of the interior color call outs look kinda weird to me. The Sturm Tiger from RFM shows the floor as light blue, never seen that in an interior photo. Am I missing something? I always thought the transmissions were green but they're shown as black in RFM and Tacom models? Just curious......Paul
Hi. On page with engine you explained differences between The model which you present and the Early model as well . I would like let you know what is that two cylinders on present and three on early model engine HL 230/210 that parts is a air filters mate.
Regarding the Zimm is it not included in the kit? I assume not since it wasn't shown. And if not I'm assuming it's time to break out the Milliput or some other Zimm method? :(

Adam Mann always watching your reviews, they’re the best. Small remark, 217 in whitewash actually has the late tracks. You can clearly see it if you zoom the well known picture. The summer version of 217, when Carius took it over, yes, it has the early “flat” tracks. By D.Byrden, the tracks replacement for old type accrued approximately in May ‘44

I think they're both fantastic kits assuming they have the original metal parts. The Panther is a little better since the Magic Tracks go together a bit easier.
Adam Mann Indeed. Shame that Dragon now resorts to this kind of trickery. I got their 3535 M1 Abrams kit last month, and guess what? No magic tracks and metal barrel for me!
I started this kit just the other night. Step one is the gun barrel...flash everywhere, warped and the main part of the assembly had a huge mold divot in it running half the length of the part, so much so it will take a large amount of filler and sanding...So far, not impressed.

I know you have lots of experience with buying models on eBay so I thought I would ask you before I post on armorama. Do you know of model purchases going badly on eBay? How easy is it to get refunded? The seller profile says returns are accepted. Thank you.
I have never returned anything to ebay, but I imagine it's pretty smooth as it's such a large platform. I really liked the Mini-Art T44 though, so those may be good kits.
I'm not worried about the actual kit. I also built the T44 and I agree with you that it was great. What I mean is that maybe the seller is not doing something reputable. It was only $18 for each kit and free shipping. Those kits are usually around $50. So it makes me think that there could be something wrong.
