Nice. I have some old fluorescent tube lights underneath my kitchen cabinets, switched separately with a wall switch. Seems like it'd be a fairly straightforward job to modernise them to LED strips as the bulbs are becoming difficult to source.

As soon as you said you'd need to join the cables I shouted wago at my screen. They need to be a channel sponsor. Also, wish you's shared this video 3 years ago before I spent way more money on a LED strip kit from Ikea 🤦‍♂🤦‍♂

A LONG time ago I did a similar thing by attaching the LED strip without an aluminium profile. Over time the glue melted under the strip and it sagged horribly. So I always use aluminium profile now because it acts as a heat sink. Newer LED's might use less power so you might be ok. Nice job anyway, I like your vids. 👍

That transformer being soldered in at both ends is disgraceful, especially given the removable caps suggesting otherwise. I'd be very suspicious of anything from eBay where the cost of a couple of screw terminals was deemed too expensive 😮 You can buy LED drivers from anywhere these days. Your local Toolstation will probably have a selection and they're still pretty inexpensive.
