KITCHEN RENOVATION AND NEW FLOORS - Quartz Countertops - SPC Vinyl Waterproof Flooring Upgrade 

Thanks for the amazing comment! We took our time to find the counter tops we loved along with making sure we upgraded with the soft hinges and doors that are easy to maintain and clean. Similar idea with the back splash of the counter being continuation of the quartz countertop stone. Easy to keep clean etc. So keeping the original structure of the cabinet was useful in many ways. First of all we didn't have to rip out the cabinets and dispose of them so that saved some time. They cabinet people just came and measured the doors and drawers and prepared new ones. They came one day and removed all the old doors and sliders for the drawers and installed new doors that already had soft close hinges and they put soft close sliders and just changed the front of the drawers and it was done with minimal disruption to the home. Our goal was to do our renovations with the least impact on our place because we're already living here. It is hard to do full gut reno when you're already living in the house. It did save some money also because the cost was for removal and installation of new doors instead of the entire cabinets and under counter spaces. Countertop price was what it would be as it was all replaced but again, they removed our old counter top and just installed a new stone one in its place and we got a fancy new back splash at the same time. It was more efficient then re-tiling the back splash. We just put the new one over the old one. Much quicker. Counter replacements took about 4.5 hours and it was done! They also disconnected and removed old sink and faucet and installed under mount sink during that time. I also love the vein design and that they align! Being able to put new floors over the old one was a life saver. Being 8mm thick was perfect, that is about 1/4" thick so it doesn't add too much thickness to the original floor and with the underpadding etc. it is designed to just go on top and work great. To remove the original floor would have been a disaster for us because it would have created much more dust, mess, cost and having to relocate all of our furniture. With this floor the kitchen was done in 2 hours and the living room in about 4 hours. So basically one day turnaround with minimal invasive feeling and by end of day we have a brand new looking condo floor! It is better than hardwood too because it is waterproof and unlike hardwood this never has to be refinished again. It will look like this for years. We also can't wait to start cooking in here for our videos in the near future! Much love to you both as always! :)

Hi Kranti! We did for sure take our time choosing each and every material and the details that would suit our situation the best. I love our new countertop and I am very happy that we made our backsplash a quartz stone backsplash as well. It is so easy to keep clean and it looks so pretty too! The floors are excellent and also feel good on your feet when you walk on it. The grooves make it feel like a natural wood floor. Each day I walk on these floors and I am happy! I like how you notice Chef Pops arrangements and cooking tools lol! When we make our videos we usually clear that area to display our ingredients and do our prep work etc! I am looking forward to doing that again in this remodeled kitchen! Stay tuned, Cooking With Pops shall eventually return! :)

Hola Hola! I am happy to hear you like all the details of what we did in the kitchen! It is much brighter and it is a very modern looking kitchen. The new sink and faucet is very nice to use and the stainless steel accessories bring uniformity to the entire kitchen space! The new floors are excellent quality and all the materials are easy to keep clean all around. We used to have fluorescent light fixture and changed it to the 4 track light as well which looks much better and pretty! New is a fresh feeling and inspiring as well! The kitchen is much brighter now and as you say with the white and brighter look it does bring the space up and makes it feel more grand! The funny thing is that our quartz countertop does look like marble because of the design but a quartz countertop is much easier to maintain as it is not porous so we get a double bonus there! When you mention it as a marble top I am not surprised as it looks just like it would be that and it is a unique style and design that I have not seen in another kitchen yet. We took our time to find the right stone for us! That oven will be put to good use by Chef Pops. Now that all these renovations are done we will be bring back Cooking With Pops shortly. Thanks Gabby, yes, this kitchen looks much brighter and alive! We had a fluorescent light in there before which provided a lot of light but with the new 4 track light system I think it might actually give more light with the 4 100W equivalent 5000K brightness bulbs! So more light, white colour paint, glossy white doors and light colour countertop, it really makes the room feel grand! Much Love! :)

Lots of questions to answer! Let's do this! New sink and faucet yes, Moen brand faucet and undermount sink which was installed by the countertop guy. Plumbing installed separately by a licensed plumber! :) The black counter is made of Quartz stone, actually both counters are. The fridge we've had it for a while now. But it did replace a fridge that died a while back and that is why it is already a stainless steel finish and did not match our original stove and hood fan. And also part of the reason why we upgraded our stove and hood so the kitchen becomes more uniform in that sense! Lol, that is a plug that goes over the original plug, you don't really see it when dad has all his gadgets plugged in like the toaster, blenders, mixer, can opener etc. It is functionally good but I am sure there is more modern and cool looking ones on the market these days. But my dad is old school, until it breaks down and dies he will not change it. It has also rubbed off on me too. Fun fact, I still own the first car I got back in 2005! Lol! Thanks, I tried my best to overlay the pictures in a manner that complimented what I was explaining and talking about! Lol, what kind of "sound effect" can you have for a soft close door? :D I think the sound effect of silence is an option! Tell your friend you know someone else on team Facto! It's a really cool light fixture! I live in a condo so the air from the hood fan is hooked up to an already existing duct that directs the air out the side of the building, basically in our balcony area and then it blends into the outside air! Pops uses that warm zone too, and sometimes Pops uses the oven as a warm zone as well. I really do enjoy the design of this modern stove! You installed flooring on set, you're a true tradesmen! Can't wait to hear that story! Lol, this is the original flooring of our condo building, the old school parquet flooring. The reason I like the new flooring as well is because it is not flat or smooth, it has grooves in it so it still feels like I'm walking on that original parquet flooring. Feels good on the feet! Thanks, dad was really happy with the house upgrades and that makes me happy too. Keeping a positive attitude is key and family truly is everything! 100% Glad you enjoyed the details of the new flooring! Yes sir, now we're ready to go with Chef Pops once more!
