I bought this exact Kitchen Aid Refrigerator at Home Depot 4 years ago. I absolutely love it !! No problems at all ! I feel sorry for all who have a bad experience. It doesn't make sense that so many had a bad rap. Maybe I was just lucky :)
You've been extremely lucky.... Give it time. Lights go out all the time on ours. It eats lights and they are hard to come by as COVID has delayed production and orders take months before they get fulfilled. Hope your luck holds out.

I have the same unit and loved it. We purchased extended warranty for cheap and we did use it. Currently we have ice maker issues but the unit itself is excellent.
The lights in our refrigerator have gone out time after time. Both in the main fridge chamber as well as the freezer down below. Lights will flicker and then quit working altogether. It is usually one light that has burned out, but it then takes the whole chain out. Lights are in short supply because of COVID-related issues and you may have to wait weeks before a parts company can fulfill your order. They are at least easy to replace. You just have to figure out which one is burned out to get them all working again. Lights run about $26.00 each.
I bought a new Kitchenaid 5 Doors refrigerator just like the one you described above four months ago. The ice maker did not function. Until yersterday they finally changed a defective valve and hopefully the problem will be solved. My wife and I are concerned that it was a new product and that it should not have had such a defect. We asked them to give us another exactly the same new fridge, but they argued that they didn't hace it and wanted to charge us $1,000 extra for another that was the same. This was in JETSTEREO store in Tegucigalpa, Honduras.
I have gone through the same issue...I'm on my 2nd one they made me give them almost $2000 for the 2nd 1... I probably put $4000 into the 1st one and it just kept breaking..... And the watching videos once again because the 2nd one I bought is broke again..... I've had to replace my food probably 10 times from this shitty kitchenaid...... I warn everyone do not buy this fridge
We have owned this fridge for 2-3 years now and have a lot of trouble with it. It will randomly stop cooling fridge and freezer and the lights won’t turn on at all when you open the doors. It’s still under warranty and have sent it back to the store twice and it’s still doing the same thing. Very frustrating.
I've had this fridge since 2017 and I've had nothing but problems. I'm glad there are so many repair videos for this model. I've gotten pretty good at tearing it down and replacing the parts. I also have to clean out the drain once a year.
I bought a house that came with the same fridge and it is only 2 years old.. I have the exact same issues that you just mentioned.. Did you find any fix for those problems (cooling/freezing issues specifically)?
Hi Rookie, we just installed ours last night. But did you have a slow leak at your water dispenser? We do and can’t figure out why it drips onto the area where your cup would go, and it’s making us have to put a dishcloth folded up in that area so the water does not eventually drip down the front of the stainless and pool on our hardwood floor. Any guidance would be appreciated! Thanks for your video!
No, we have never had any problems with it since we bought it, It might be the lever where you push for the water might be stuck, so take the icemaker apart and see if maybe something is loose sometimes things go loose in the shipping.
This is absolutely the worst fridge I'm on my 2nd one.... I probably have 7 to $8000 into this fridge and it's broke again..... I warn you do not buy this fridge
Still like like it? Because mine sucks! Remember if something goes wrong. before you call anyone. Unplug it for about five minutes then plug it back in. This Refreshes or reboots the computer

I think there are some really good four door refrigerators like the Samsung bespoke that might have a larger capacity, so I’m shifting to open my options Before spending $4000…
@@oceanmoonbelle I am here on youtube working through a few different problems with ours. Water under the drawers, lights not working. So far we've taken off and cleaned the drain line but still getting water. Doing a complete defrost now and looking at solving the light/door sensor issue.
@@therookiefisherman5234 That's good to know. There have been so many complaints and horror stories about this product. I was all set to pull the trigger on this. So sad that the durability is not consistent...
You'd be better served by buying a Coleman Cooler and keeping your food in it.... Kitchen Aid quality has gone bye-bye as it has been sold out to other management.
You think with as many of the same common problems people are reporting with this refrigerator, there would be a recall or at least a class action suit. But nothing. Makes me wonder if a lot (not all) but a lot of these bad reviews are from people who've been paid by the competition to bash this brand/model. Yes, that's actually a thing.
It is a very nice looking fridge but probably the biggest piece of junk I've ever bought in my life and I have bought 2 of the same exact one's nothing but a money pit and problems for both........
I bought two of the 506 models and the lights went out and couldn't be fixed. Whirlpool replaced with this refrigerator and had it ONE week and the lights went out!!! There is also an error code above ICE/water control that is not listed anywhere I can find. Looks like an open book and it it beeping. I have no idea what is wrong with this BRAND new frog.
These are junk after 2 years our needed a $1200 repair that took 35days to get the parts . Cut your loss and take this to the dump before it drains your ban account
