UPDATE: Kiwico has switched things up and now the Panda Crate spans 0 to 36 months, with an additional "plus" option where you can add on some longer lasting items

This is an informative and essential review!! So many parents have Kiwi instead of Lovevery and they rave about Kiwi, or they have both Lovevery and Kiwi kits. I really couldn't stomach buying two subscription boxes for a baby! I also can't see online what comes in the Kiwi kits. Even though the lower price is appealing, I would much prefer a few high quality toys that hold my kids attention then many low quality toys. I love how Lovevery shows you what you are getting and has designed each box for a specific age range. I really like how you introduced Lovevery toys early to your child so she got the most play value out of the toys. My fear is having my child be bored with lack of interestig toys, and the Lovevery toys seem very engaging. I get the feeling that the Lovevery offers toys that are such high quality in comparison to any toy I've seen for babies or toddlers on Amazon. Aside from Magnatiles and Schleich animals and gross motor toys like the Pikler and Balance Board, Lovevery in controlled quantites is what works for me. I plan to side step the high cost by only buying a few boxes for each year rather then every single box. Thank you for your honest review!

First wow! New father and just started watching your video about this. I appreciate your straight up response at the beginning of this video on which one is best and which one is budget.

Haha I'm so happy you appreciated it!! I didnt mean for the video to get so long, but I'd been asked so many questions and had a lot of thoughts; didnt want to force busy parents to sit through them all if they weren't interested in the nuance haha

We have done both since our baby was born... he is now a year old. I 100% agree that Lovevery is hands down the better product. But KiwiCo has some hidden gems. Our 3rd box Sense With Me - every product was amazing and we still use the bath book! Since then each box had a hidden gem: the hide and seek barn, the pull back car, and recently the coin box. I will also say that the coin box we received in this box is much easier and I think a first step to getting ready for the Lovevery coin box. I also purchased the full two year subscription during their Memorial Day sale last year at 40% off so we paid about $300 for everything, I think each box was about $24. I did the sale for Lovevery... but they didn’t have the 24+ at the time... I am debating holding out until he is 24 months to get them and see if they update anything. I am currently looking into MontiKids have you ever looked into their boxes?

I totally agree that KiwiCo has some hidden gems and definitely surprised me at times! And I can't remember if I ended up editing this out because the video is long, but my feeling was that KiwiCo is like starter toys - just like you explained with the coin box! It feels like a starting point to see what engages the child. Which is definitely NOT a bad thing at all! Especially with most of the items coming in at $5 when you get it on sale! I'm sharing my toy rotation video next week, and you'll see we don't have a ton of storage space and have VERY limited toys so I think that's why it's more of a "skip" for me. But, to your point, I've never met someone who had BOTH from birth and wasn't happy about it! I have looked into MontiKids! I touched on it a little in the blog post version of this video - I REALLY like their stuff but felt like Lovevery was the better bang for your buck overall and they had quite a bit of overlap. I may get their level 2 box though for the baby since most of the items in that are timeless/build with existing stuff we have. My daughter is at the Level 7 and Level 8 range now... which we already have stuff that is very similar or that I can DIY (like the mystery bags) so

Thanks for the review. I’ve been looking at Lovevery and montikids as they seem to be the most a like. Have you heard of the other one. We might still go with the lovevery but I have yet to see anyone do a montikids vs lovevery

Yes! I went into this a little more in the blog post a bit but Lovevery was just a better bang for the buck overall IMO especially since so many items overlapped. There's a big difference between $480 a year and $1188 a year and I didn't find any of the items in Montikids (especially in the first 3 levels) unique enough to justify the price tag. For instance the Level 2 Box is $300, and I'd equate that to getting a year 1 play kit ($80), the block set ($90), and the meal place mat/utensils from lovevery ($35), and you're still coming in less. I do really like there level 5 and 6 and may get those for the baby on the way though! There's absolutely nothing wrong with Montikids and it's definitely more montessori aligned than Lovevery. I didn't care about having "the most montessori materials" though

So I’ve been a kiwi co for a while because it cheaper but after doing the math it ain’t that bad lovevery every three months you get a kit ..kiwi co every month the difference of $45 and some of the stuff I get from kiwi I can’t even let my kid play with because I know he is going to rip and destroy .. like he has with space search and doctor kit :/ and with kiwi they send you just one task and I saw lovevery sends you multiples .. idk I think I might switch over

This!! I find that our runway with Lovevery items is just soooo much longer. Even the Koala Crate (for 2-4 year olds) which comes with a few activities, once we are done with them we are done. She never goes back to them. The Lovevery items keep getting use.

I'm not an ambassador, but I do use affiliate links for KiwiCo, Monti Kids, and Lovevery. None of them have ever paid me for content creation though!

The lovevery kits look nice, but I would not be able to convince my husband to get them due to their price tag. However if you try and look for those pieces used people are selling them for almost as much as the box. You can almost make money just buying the box and selling all the pieces separately.

Yes!! That's why I touched on resell at the end! I saw the weigh scales from the Enthusiast listed on mercari for $78 last week!! Especially with them swapping items out, it's got the limited edition/exclusive pricing on top of the quality pricing.

That's what I am doing. We started our lovevery subscription at 9 months for our daughter and Kiwi Co Panda Crate at 1 year. I am currently pregnant and was thinking if we should get any of the younger kits for the baby - so this video was great timing. Although I as a parent love how lovevery looks and feels, our daughter is just not that into most pieces. Usually it is one or two items per box she truly likes plus the book and the rest just takes up space in the tiny closet where I keep the toys to rotate. So I sold what she is not playing with and nearly got each box price back (always at least 2/3rd of the original price). I already got a couple of the younger age toys second hand that I was sure our daughter would like and so I don't think we'll subscribe for any box for the baby. I actually was more leaning towards the Kiwi Co for the baby than the lovevery since the toys are usually less bulky and our daughter always interacts much longer and deeper with Kiwi Co items than most Lovevery toys (even the lovevery toys she likes, she usually interacts less than 10 minutes with whereas some KiwiCo toys she can play with for 20 minutes or longer, which for her is amazing). But I agree that sometimes the age range is completely off in Kiwi Co (I'm glad that I can use those items for the baby). We also had them deliver the lovevery boxes early and I'm so glad - their age recommendations are sometimes way off as well in my opinion. Some items are too challenging even months later, others are great to introduce half a year before intended or even earlier. I wish they would offer other options than subscription, not everyone has the space to store all those bulky toys and wait if the child will eventually like something. Having them send me the boxes early really allowed me to "follow the child" 😉

I think the best value is buying 1-2 Lovevery boxes for each year and selling the toys you don't like or you child doesn't play with. I would prioritize offering Lovevery toys over toys from the Amazon, the quality is so much better. The Lovevery books are unbeatable. Lovevery offers a 10% discount if you buy 3 or more boxes that ship immediately. I definitely don't think you need 6 boxes the first year or the 8 toddler boxes the 2nd and 3rd year. To me it seems lile too many toys and there are some missing items like a tunnel, a balance board, shape sorter, scarves and a balance bike for age 2- all must haves in my opinion. My favorite boxes for the first year are the 7-8 and 9-10, and possibly the 5-6 if you want the spinning drum and 11-12 if you want the doll and mini animal book. My favorite boxes for 1-2 years is the Babbler and the Realist, you can introduce many of the items at 12-14 months. I also really like the Companion for the animals at 10 months and the Button Board/puzzle for 21 months. I'm sure you'll assemble a wonderful play kit for your child!
