That is one of the sweetest looking small knives I’ve ever seen! Kizer continues to impress! Loving they’re using more 154cm! Thanks for sharing Wayne!
Dirk designed one of my all time favorites I call it the broken broadsword aka Artisan Proponent with Brass scales. Great name for this one, need to pick one up. I appreciate you not cutting paper to be honest. Always get the shivers if I'm wearing headphones haha.
I don't care about paper cut tests. I've gotten knives where the reviewer cut paper and it looked great, but when I bought the knife the one I got didn't cut that well. Too many variations from knife to knife (and human to human).
I don’t like Bowies, but on this little knife it’s so cool. I can tell your age by the TV remark. I do it all the time. I don’t know you get live on this here TV WSW!
I cant wait to grab one of these. I’m sucker for a clip point. Have you tried the Kizer Flip Shank? It’s like a titanium frame lock/ thumb stud version of that knife.
Interesting-looking knife. The Dirk Pinkerton designed knives I have seen are generally tactical, aggressive knives. Not a bad thing for a 5th pocket knife in case one needs to cut more than paper. Will have to go see what the Micarta scales look like.
Agree with everything beside the paper cutting paragraph. It's true that cutting paper is not explanatory of a knife ability to cut. It is also true that many, many thing compound together to make a blade better at cutting (geometry, thickness, angle of the edge and so much more). But cutting paper is not to show how sharp the knife is but it's a benchmark test that you can easily repeat with the same factors every time. Same user, same paper, same type of cutting. And in regards to not being able to tell how much pull the blade had when cutting paper, or how much rising does the cut show and such, well...we kind of trust you to tell us how it feels and how work, from your point of view. I believe the paper cutting test is more of a comparison test between knives rather than a show of how good a specific knife's edge is at cutting it. Love the vids btw, thanks for the content
Im with you on the super shiny clips. I think it looks cheap, with the exception of being paired with a mirror finished blade and hardware. I usually stone wash or acid etch my clips that have that blinding chrome look. Have you tried doing that? Anyone who wants their clips stone/acid washed for free, let me know, I have plenty of acid on hand, and I think it really elevates the knife.
I need to spend the time to figure out a way to dye or change the color/finish of satin pocket clips. Feels like I'm missing out on so many knives because of such a stupid nitpick.
Mine comes with a black pocket clip thankfully. I assume it's probably just some cheap coating not some DLC type coating though I'd be happy if I were wrong 🤷😅
I ordered the configuration with the Ebony scales and hopefully it gets to me sooner than later. I really love the design the blade shape is very nice and the Ebony scales are gorgeous and complement it well. I'm with the person that wants an XL version that has a 3.5" blade that would be a perfect size for it. But I do like it regardless it's obviously not going to be a 4 finger gripper but oh well it's probably not going to be much of an EDC either probably a collector and around the house kinda knife. $60 isn't bad because t knowing kizer I probably could've waited a year or two and got it for $40 but I'd rather not wait lol. Mine comes with a black pocket clip by the way lol it's low down that they give you satin for the BLACK g10 version..... 🤷🤦
@@WaynesSharpWorld yeah it would be for sure. Idk what made them go below 3" with this knife. I still dig it though so I shouldn't complain it's not that serious lol. Kizer will probably sell a knife that is nearly Identical except for the fact that it'll be a larger. Then they'll go and name it something completely different instead of "SoandSo XL" 😅 they've done it before ffs 😵
I’d argue that a lot of people that are satisfied with a “cut test” consisting of paper cutting only, don’t use their knives much. Having said that, if you ever came up with a series where you put knives through some sort of a standardized gauntlet, I’d watch every single one of these, as I appreciate your take on knives 😃
