www.autobytel.com KLD Energy recently invited journalists out to Santa Monica, CA to show off their One Drive system. Traditionally, when an OEM wants to make an Electric Vehicle they often have to source a battery from one part of the globe and are then tasked with figuring out how to make it work with a motor that came from a completely different supplier. What makes KLD unique is that their One Drive system is a three part package consisting of a versatile battery, custom made power controller with built in baseline programming maps and the piece de resistance, Ray Caamano's next generation electric motor that have all been designed to work together; right out of the box.

brilliant with the modules and large diameter to get more torque from less energy, with the whole back-plate as heat sink, wow. I imagine it could be machined to be air vented for more cooling as an option. the motor system looks ideal for electric conversions.

I want one on my 2013 Impala...retrofit RWD for neighborhood stop and go driving? The V6 does OK on the highway (32 mpg). In town less than 15 mpg. Be glad to test it out for you.

Make a retrofit hub (or inboard rear drive) motor kit for my Impala for + or - ~ $3,000 inclusive of Zinc/ Air (or Li) batteries and necessary computer reprogramming for most efficient use for stop and go local traffic.

They (the customers or suppliers) would be in much luck by selling in China. The market for "low-speed", small or some would say stereotypical electric vehicles are an incredible hit over there. Far exceeding the full-sized electric car demand over there! And we all know what happens when something becomes popular in China!

This company no longer exist. I believe they sold the rights to this motor technology to Aroimotor out of Oregon. Aroimotor builds one of the best EV cars on the market. www.aroimoto.com.

"A gear box makes it inefficient..." Both Formula-E and Tesla run 10:1 gear reduction. This guy basically strapped 2 Cromotors together. I wouldn't trust this quack "engineer". No wonder their company went bankrupt...
