A patient, Muhammad Khalid Barki, age 75, from Lahore, had been facing a lot of issues due to Knee Pain for the last few years. After visiting many hospitals and Doctors, he came to Dr. Abaid-ur-Rehman, an Interventional Pain Physician at Hameed Latif Hospital. After careful examination, Dr. Abaid advised the patient, an advanced treatment called "Intraarticular hyluran plus injection".
Hyaluronic acid injections are used to treat knee pain caused by osteoarthritis (OA) in patients who have already been treated with pain relievers (e.g., acetaminophen) and other treatments that did not work well.
Hyaluronic acid is similar to a substance that occurs naturally in the joints. It works by acting like a lubricant and shock absorber in the joints and helping the joints work properly.
