In many instances I have to pry things open and the only thing I have on me at the time that fits or will work is my knife. Lol. Different walks of life I guess.
On the contrary, it does cross my mind. Not because I actively want to pry something open or like doing it on a regular basis, but I'm someone who likes to think that possibilities does exists. I like to be prepared in case I do need to pry at some point (being locked out for instance). Stop being judgemental.
I have the real Bugout and they're flimsy there too. I even break the scales in a RU-vid vid as well. I think the steel on these isn't going to be the same as a real one but for what 99% of knife people use, this would be more than adequate and beyond spectacular for the price paid. These clones are very good. And often the reasons they are able to make them this exact is that they have the actual schematics. Where they had to cut corners was the heat treat and the actual steel used.
Anyone that prys things apart with any folder probably shouldnt have knives. Maybe "loosening" something, but prying, no. And the real bugout wouldnt stand up to that kind of abuse either.
Well I can understand that point of thinking to a certain degree and would agree with it to an extent. Taking care of your tools and not abusing them is always a smart practice. But in these cases I’m trying to abuse them more than I would normally.
Yeah it’s been a legit knife. I haven’t had time to do a follow up video yet I’m trying to get to it this week. One down side I found with it though. Not sure if it’s a big deal but I’ll address it in the video.
I have a s90v clone bugout CF. I had the blade professionally tested and it was in fact real s90v. the Smith did mention slight hardness variations in the test along the blade (1-3%). he concluded that it is a lower quality s90v but still sharp as hell and holds an edge just fine. he said for 50$ it's a steal of a deal considering the real bugout goes for 400$+ at cabellas
@@michaelxcx i got the same deal with mine, holds an edge works great i used it in the backwoods in northern Ontario for 2 weeks and held an edge perfectly, i wouldn't go nuts on the handle though but blade is decent. also wouldnt compare it to the originals as i own many and the quality is better . but for 30CAD, its worth it to me,
@@michaelxcx You cannot tell what steel you have by hardness alone. S90V can go anywhere from 59 to 62 RC, almost all knife steel overlap each others. There is no $50 S90V knife either. The bugout in the video is 100% guaranteed not to be S30V, just look at the reflection and its obviously not powdered steel. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KE263rDurvk.html look at the reflections and you can never unsee it.
I agree with BeginnersLuck. But also have to agree with you. Also, why give us the little microfiber bag? Unless you bought the knife to collect it, wth is the bag for?
@@denniscotey8182 I use the bag in my daypack, I think its to keep the knife clean in your pack. But totally unnecessary. Yeah, its an excellent counterfeit. But in my opinion it doesn't need to be identical to be a great knife. Its also so close its scary, you cant tell if its real or not. I would happily buy them in bulk without the box but its much harder to do then you would think.
@@superdrizzle7342 absolutely agree with everything you said. Stopped at my local surplus store yesterday to look at a real Bugout. $144 + tax. The mini was $120. Anyway the guy behind the counter was pretty cool when I told him I was just looking. I showed him my clone and he was shocked at the similarities. He had never seen a clone. He called another guy over and he asked me if I bought my knife from Benchmade's web site or from a store. He was blown away when I revealed to him that it was not a real bugout. Indeed they are a great little knife. I just ordered another from Wish last night.
I don't have the so called real one because I refuse to be ripped off by benchmade ! Most all production knives are made by Chinese cnc machines, even the so called real American made ( load the blank unload the part assemble mail )! So they are all clones but wish doesn't rip you off and liehype steel ( I priced the steel and even with no volume buy duscount it would only raise the price $20.00 not $ 200.00 ) with the geedy butterfly price ! Just ordered the 533 carbon fiber handle $300.00 greedy butterfly price ! $30.00 from wish ! I use knives , I wouldn't want to use a $300.00 knife ! I only collect clones of stupid high for no real reason but greed knives , but I use them too !!
I can echo that same resentment. The bugout official is a smooth cut still but that 200 dollar price tag is something I am still struggling with. Especially when I can buy a clone with comparable specs for 20 bux and be happy with it.
I'm binge watching the clone videos. I'm seeing hundreds of comments that say the Benchmade is an overpriced POS. As are most MeriKKKun made knives. Like Medfords. Who puts child rape on T-shirts.
the original is also crap, all benchmade is complete trash. I'd feel embarrassed carrying a clone not because it's a clone but because it says benchmade on it
What brand name knife are you the most invested in? After seeing your opinion of benchmade I am curious what other brands you support? I’d be interested in checking them out too.
@@ThePhillibusterMedia I don't really carry folders, just the small morakniv classic in a pocket or under the sweater I have an old discontinued kershaw (made in usa) called the knockout I still use
