@@zachz699 truthfully its not the best technique for dealing with an opponent but the crowd loves it. I just use it to create distance and I can hit hard enoigg.to stun or disorent an opponent. (I'm the guy throwing the punches in the back)

Some.people use.thicking metal to make it more affordable than tempered and hardened steel. The padding is very similar in general. Thrusts are prohibited, just like the rules in some medieval tournements. Two handed pole hammers and similar are prohibited here but can be used. I dont have an issue with them, but many people are not willing to risk the additional cha.ce of injury so they are banned in general in the states with a few exception of tournaments that are not sanctioned under the various leagues. See "Knight fight ep 07" on the history Channel if you want to see what happens when I use a two handed flail on a person.

You are correct in part, also 80 lbs of armor in mud will do that. It probably looks a little odd since you have never seen an actor or a stuntman in real armor, ever.
