Yes, this can be used on small chains. It can cut up to 3.6mm diameter and can cut some harder steels such as piano wire.

Like butter. It cuts through 5mm hardened steel if you have to in an urgent situation if you use both hands as back as possible on the grip for more leverage.Awsome tool!!!

Side cutters will normally cut chicken wire, as it is normally very thin and easy to cut 👍

If you are doing a lot of repetitive cuts, the spring version would be beneficial, otherwise these will be fine ;-) Thanks for the comment 👍

Angel LaHash Knipex make a lot of cable cutters but they are not cheap I'm afraid. Something like this might work - ebay.eu/1JLTbWA Not sure how long they would last though!

theres a proverb, - cheap is expensive.. to many times this telling is true. if you gonne use the scarcely, then i guess its fine with, a cheap one. if you gonne use it frequently and are dependent one it. for example working in the forest, and no workshop in many mile radius, and might even be so critical that you cant proceed with your work if the tool starts faulting. loosing many working hours. thats you didnt save any money there. it even cost you money. think about that building your tool set. as for me i have a blend of cheap and expensive. i like you, arent made out of money

NO, they won't cut material that large. I think about 6mm is the maximum (1/4")

side cutters wont last long vs screws, if you must use two hands they wont last long before they give up.
