I love all of the socks you have been making! And especially your progression from not finishing a pair to being totally stoked on them ☺️ it’s awesome!

LisaR: You never know , you may be surprised. Sometimes the sweaters done in pieces end up fitting so much better with less surprises at the end ..When you do the seams , block everything to get seams flat - I usually do that by drying it with right sides down ( steam at edges for easier seaming) usually use a backstitch with a tapestry needle, not pulling too hard or too loose . Great to leave a triple length of yarn at end of each piece to use for seaming ( avoids adding addtl yarn) . By the end of this one maybe purling will be noticeably faster :) Your baby knits are soo cute & cozy socks!

I am so excited for you! The more I watch podcasts about baby knits - the more I wished I knew how to knit when my kids were little. However, I am making up for it now.

My due date is around Christmas so i feel you on the "OMG i only have a few weeks left" feelings. The one thing i for sure want to knit for baby is a Bonnet, maybe another little sweater.

Haha. Just watched this episode this morning and listened to your story about the September Woods pattern. Also, I just wanted to mention... I wouldn't stress too much over knitting something for your son to wear home from the hospital. I honestly can't even remember what either of my kids wore home and they grow out of newborn size SOOO fast! Maybe just knit a newborn hat if you really want something handmade for him to wear home. Just my two cents! Lol

I still love the idea of the 1 year sized sweater with your baby's name on it and taking a picture every month! but also the baby bear suit is absolutely adorable too! hard to choose, but which ever you do, it will be great! also the colors of the Hawkins socks are so pretty!

Always love seeing a new video by you! Because of you I just picked up loom knitting ( it seemed alot less intimidating then needle knitting for now lol) Just cast on my first hat in a lovely brown shade. :)

I love all the knits for your baby. They’re so cute! Everyone who says knitting for boys is no fun need to check yours out! I can’t wait for the sock pattern to come out from Denim and Rain. You should knit some for your little one. How cute would that be!

I definitely think you should do one of the coming home outfits. It will be so special to you! And probably easier to size something like that rather than a onesie or sweater. I mean, I haven't had any babies so what do I know lol

I'm just gunna put it out there that both my kids had poo explosions so bad that the poop went up their back and into their hair. It ain't called an explosion for no reason. But definitely do a coming home onesie! I wish I had ☹️💔

@@carsleehandmade Just maybe not Knitting for Olive yarn and something more... washable 😂
@KnitMyWayHome
@KnitMyWayHome Год назад
Yes! Washable. 😂 Or, stick with dark colours. I knit my daughter the most beautiful little pale green baby sweater and I was very picky about my yarn choice… I ended up having to overdye it because no matter what I did, I couldn’t get the stain totally out. 🙈 My children wore tonnes of hand wash only clothes. I made a lot of what they wore and it was no big deal - lanolin is a wonderful substance - but it’s definitely worth it to knit their clothes. They still prefer handknits and they are teenagers. Your little fella is going to be warm & cosy & so lucky in all his clothes! ❤

What type of needles do you use for your socks? I’ve been doing magic loop (for the one pair I’ve ever knit lol) but was wondering what you do!

I’ve been using chiagoo’s shorties set and will neverrrrrr go back. I love a good 9 inch circular for socks - although it took me awhile to get used to it
