Talked with a Facebook contact that stated the Jiestar version was missing 3 pieces including the new 3x8 wedge piece (which is very difficult to source per him and the figures look a bit wacky. Also the name plate is a sticker and not printed like the Lepin version.

That colour difference would have driven me to distraction. Also I love that you just mix Lego and clone. I finally started mixing my own substantial loose parts recently. Very refreshing. 😁

Thank you so much for this info on the Venator knockoff. I just spent $213.89 on this model, using your special for an added discount too. $649.99 is just to much for me. Thank you Steven for your impute. I'm 61 and just starting this Lego journey. Just finished Lego Titanic. Now I just received the Mould King Monarch Star Destroyer, a family's gift for Father's Day. And now the Venator, a birthday gift in July. All beautiful sets.

I have the same model built few weeks ago and has a gap also in the middle but i check again and i notice i messed up and i was able to fixed it and there was actually no gap at all.

Have you tried acetone for cementing parts?

I have, but you have to be really careful because it really just melts ABS plastic. I tend to prefer super glue gel. Still melts the ABS together, but doesn't run.

Youre gonna do the hanger mod right? It's so worth the effort. I've got to get the printed elements.

Yes, I want to do the hanger mod and I want to either find a mod or design my own to change the stands to a 45 degree angle so this monster fits on a 12" shelf. Wicked Brick has a stand, but it's $90 and it only holds the ship one way, so the open side hanger is facing the wall.

@@SevenStarBricks yes me too. I've got mine on a 16" x corner shelf but I'd love to have a good technic stand to angle it. That hanger mid does destabilize the build a bit, but it's totally worth it.

Fantastic review! It's nice to find this style review in English so I don't have to dust off my rusty German. At this point I won't buy any substantial sets that aren't GoBrick. I've also found LesDiy is a clown show. Won't touch their nonsense.

Haha, Yes! I watch the Blue Brixx channel, but I have to subtitle it since the only German I know comes from WWII movies and video games.
