In depth review of the latest lights from Knog - the Plus (+) front and rear lights.
These lights are marketed as being suitable for running, riding and any activity where you can clip on a light... so that is how they have been tested.
Comparison testing has been done versus the Knog Blinder Mini Niner front light and the Knog Road R70 rear light.
Filmed in Melbourne, Australia through August and September 2018

nice coverage, nice test...the selling point on the plus is that they are small, easy to fit in pocket and even wearable...on sleeve, sock etc...if riding at night, with cars i say use both! mo light mo lights

I love these lights in the way that they're so minimalistic, quite powerful and aesthetic, but something that really bothers me is the fact that the button to operate them breaks so easily even if it's handled with care. Ah, and they cannot be repaired...

When charging these lights up you put them into a USB that is plugged into an outlet. The light will turn red. When it is charged the light will go out.

Thank you ! I think I'll go for a Blinder Mob Twinpack instead of the new Plus

Hi Juliana. Good point, can't believe I missed that! I've done a short update video, including charging.

You just plug it in like any regular pendrive. (Though a wall charger with USB socket is recommended instead of PC/laptop.)

They are awesome, I have four of them. But one does not work anymore, first it required a very hard press on the button (like, with full force), now I cannot turn it on. And the second one's button is starting to act up as well. What can I do? I bought it second hand.

Bought 2 for my son to hook on his mountain bike and/or Osprey pack. Suck. Took back twice as the first 2 wouldn't work or charge. Third time he said when he hit a bump the magnet wasn't strong enough and it just fell off and in the road. Returned to REI. This video convinced me to purchase another brand.

Thanks for sharing your experience of the light. I've used them front (fork) and back (helmet) on every ride since this review without them every falling off. I'm very much a 'wheels on the ground' cyclist though. I hope your son's new light has stood up to more punishment!

@@jwilly7032 One has to check carefully when mounting them, after that, they are "fall-off free".

Next time show specifically how to charge these things up in the USB port. It took me a little while to figure out the removal of the small clip section and then the insertion into the computer USB.

Lights are great, have used them for commuting. Esay and secure to fix to the bike or backback, quick to remove. Only one great drawback: the one/off switch is made so cheap, that they are useless and stop working after about 6 months, which sadly render the whole lights useless. (same issue in front and backlight)

on amazon review : The clip on this light is nowhere NEAR tight enough to keep the light from bouncing off. I had to stop and retrieve it twice after going over bumps. did you have the same problem ?
@jwilly7032
@jwilly7032 5 лет назад
Hi wellthi, do you mean when the light is clipped to clothing? I find it works fine on socks, as I'm showing at 4:44. The elastic of the socks keeps the light snug against your calf. I find it is too loose on the collar of a t-shirt. 4 months on from the review, I still have the rear light on my helmet (using the mount) and the front light on my Camelbak strap (using the clip).

@@jwilly7032 ahh ok my bad i thought he was taking about the magnet not being strong enough in the amazon review but it was about the clip
@gaborkiss1425

I do freeride style riding (across anything that comes my way) and never had them to fall off of the bike. They sit neatly on their own consoles.

@@gaborkiss1425 it was a quote from amazon review the magnet is not the problem the clip is not tight and secure enough when use on a shirt

These lights seem to do different things. I wish I had a manual!!! Last time I charged it it lasted a very long time. There is a red dot at the bottom of the white light. I don't know what this means and since I don't have any kind of manual I have no idea what it means. I left word for the manufacturer. I wish there was someone who can describe all the functions, all the ways the light works.
@jwilly7032

Hi, the red dot means the battery is low.

@@jwilly7032 That is needs to be charged up doesn't make any sense. I had just charged it up last week. This morning I had it on. It was sort of red with the blinking white. I had never seen this option before. I don't know if I changed the setting that I had by accident. (that is why I wish it came with a manual). Anyway, it lasted through my journey, which is usually about 20 minutes, the most half an hour. This is all I ride when I take the bike out. I don't ride everyday. There is no reason why it needs to be charged. It lasted a real long time when I first started using it. This light is new. I've had it maybe two months. I new when it needed to be charged for the first time. It stopped working.

I don‘t think the camera had fixed exposure and therefore the comparison is not fair.

Nice but your exposure is very unbalanced and it's much darker on the Knog+ field test which definitely skews things.
