Thanks for your good query sir... * chemical dosing can be done thru dosing tank and also thro cascade tank which is also cald as hot well. * Gagging of safety valve is manually blocking the safety valve from lifting at desired pressure.. This they do wen they test the second safety valve in boilers. * S sir both safety valve hv different setting * This is as a safety if one safety valve doesn't lift due to sme reason.. The next valve which the lifting pressure is higher than the first valve vl lift and release the excess pressure. Hope this reply will satisfy your query.

Easing gear has to be used atleast weekly to check its operational...

If you find the safety valve is continuously lifting during your watch.. * check for the boiler pressure. * check whether the boiler is firing in manual.. If its manual change to auto mode. * check whether the other safety valve is also leaking. * try to open steam to some bunker tanks and reduce the steam pressure. *. If the valve is lifting below the set pressure then the valve shud b overhauled. Hope this reply will satisfy your query..
