I just purchased one from Lowe’s…. Bought the Battery Twin Pack and got the Polisher (Tool) for Free. Great buy and I highly recommend it!!! I have a New ‘24 Toyota 4Runner TRD OFF-ROAD PREMIUM in the Underground Color and when a Hail Storm came through and dinged my ride I had to have a dent repair shop do the necessary repairs but in the process they left Buffer Marks and Holograms on certain areas of my New Paint. I decided that I would get a Polisher and fix the situation myself so ordered this Polisher. First time I have ever used a Polisher so I tested to see how it would do with just the Blue Pad and some Chemical Guys Polisher and it has already removed the Holograms and most of the Buffer Marks. Thank The LORD!!! Now that I know how this Polisher Tool works and now familiar with the Polishing Process I’m confident that when I decide to ever use the more aggressive pads and a Compound I could do a 2 Step Process and Correct even more when needed. Go buy one…..you won’t be disappointed 💪🏼

Thanks, Tim! Maybe I'll get this as a more convenient alternative to my Chicago Electric corded. If you want to demonstrate pad stalling, you can always put a piece of tape or a sharpie mark on the top edge of the backing pad/plate and it will be easier to spot on video.
@jdisdetermined
@jdisdetermined 3 года назад
Does it take standard 5/16"-24 thread backing plates? I'm a 5" pad guy all the way, even use 5" plates on my 21mm polishers. Thanks for the video! Love seeing more and more cordless DAs coming to market. They will only get better and better from here.

interesting that you guys didn’t show operation with the d ring handle or the side handle. whenever i polish, i use those for better control and stability and to make sure i don’t push down on the surface with the polisher. the only time you put slightly a bit more pressure would be for paint correction with the right pad and compound. probably the only times i don’t use the handle would be certain moments of applying product after you blot the area with the pad.

@SescoDviejoC
@SescoDviejoC 3 года назад
What's the throw on this polisher? Months ago i was looking at this tool when ryobi was introducing their polisher. I'm not on kobalt platform so did not purchase and got ryobi. It was an alright tool but not for the price tag of $199 for just the tool. I went with SPTA polisher instead for the same price but with 2 batteries and can use makita batteries with that polisher.
@Shoptoolreviews
@Shoptoolreviews 3 года назад
They don't list the throw (orbit) anywhere on the site or on the box. From my measurement, I would guess 7-8mm. Thanks for watching. Are you happy with the SPTA?
@SescoDviejoC
@SescoDviejoC 3 года назад
@@Shoptoolreviews for the price and what is included with the tool yes. In my opinion the tool is a bit loud but nothing some ear buds can't block. From reviews I've seen the throw is around 12mm. Main thing I dislike is the speed change. Polisher starts at high speed and in order to change the speed one has to press and hold the trigger and then press the speed button. Would of been better if it was starting at low speed. For DIY it's a great tool.

in my opinion this isn't something that most non tool owners go out and buy. Brand loyalty is major with most tool owners. They aren't targeting professional detailers, more likely weekend warriors who already have a 24v kobalt tool. I bought their impact gun at 169 on sale last year with 2 batteries and a charger. Also bought their work light, and now this. it did a great job removing oxidation from bottom of jet ski. great for tight areas.

Rubber feet aren’t really a big deal. The fact that it’s cordless is great. I would def test on a black paint or dark color with a good light to compare. Tim, get a test panel from the junk yard and go for it man. You don’t gotta be a pro to use these things.

@@Shoptoolreviews yeah some people have been doing things there way for so long that it’s hard for them to change their ways to what’s right. We’re owners of a detail shop called touch and glow auto located in puyallup wa. It’s a must to season up the pad before buffing/polishing.... look at the bottom of his pad, there’s only 3 dots of product on the pad. That will cause scratches especially on black paint is where it’s really noticeable. Just letting people know that your pad should be all the way seasoned before buffing. He has been doing it wrong since he was 10 years old, so I’m sure it would be hard to change his ways now. But hey god bless and hopefully he will understand that there’s is a better way.
