I love my Kobalt Pole Saw - 80-volt - 5-ah battery - 10" Bar - 6 ft / 8ft foot Pole Saw. No cable. Using an Oregon Bar and Chain. I have been using it for more than 3 years now. It works great on my southeast Louisiana farm clearing property that a hurricane went through and trashed all the trees in the woods of our 20-acre farm. I carry it all over our woods and the battery lasts a long time. Today I'll be cutting a 6-inch limb off of a tree out front. I am also using (2) Kobalt 80 volt 18" Bar Chainsaw and using the 5 AH Batteries. Cuts huge logs great. The first one wound up in a puddle and stopped working but after a couple of weeks and it had dried out, it started working again. For oil I like to use Ryoby Bar and chain oil.

I got one and had a lot of trimming to do I made the mistake of saying to myself that I will take a break when the battery dies. I worked for several hours I was totally impressed!!

I love how people do unboxing’s and get one glance at the product and say “it looks pretty good” or “the quality looks good”, I mean duh, its brand new, shiny new of course it “looks good”, its the 1-3 year reviews that are useful.

Nice Video! I have one of these, and I love it, as I do my huge assortment of Kobalt 24v max tools. Kobalt is almost always a "straight shooter" as far as product specifications, BUT please don't "take their word for it" as far as length. The box does NOT say the saw is 14 feet long, it says you can REACH 14 ft. This pole saw is actually between 9 and 9 1/2 feet long (a long ways short of 14 ft). They are playing games when they say "reach 14 ft", and assuming when you lift it 5 feet off the ground, you can reach 14 ft. if you are pointing it straight up (good luck with that). Keep up the good work, especially the safety section of the video.

did you add the bar and chain oil? and nowhere in kobalt's instructions does it say HOW much oil/ounces you need - Cuz it doesn't come with any in the box ... :)

I used oil I already had for my gas chainsaw and just filled up the reservoir.

I was dumping out and cleaning the chain oil reservoir and a weird looking spring came out. I have no idea where it goes. Any idea what that is?

The extension pole is to long and how do i take it out

Unscrew and pull out. The pole attached to the saw end does not come off.

I read someone used a 4A and it started smoking. He thought the use time was extended and tool got over heated.

I cant figure out how to adjust the tension! I cant find the tensioning screw anywhere and can't find the manual online! Help lol

Its automatic to set the chain tension. Turn the large knob counter clockwise to loosen the turn back clockwise to lock. In other words, turn if left then turn it right and all done. Hope this helps and please subscribe if you can.

Mine keeps loosening all the time. Should have had a adjustment screw instead of the flimsy spring near the end of the bar :(

I have the 24V model and have lost the manual. Searching online and all I find is the manual for the 40V model. Other than the voltage are they the same? Searching via the model number turns up a manual for a Kobalt lawn mower.

Great... another video which doesn't show how the polesaw are assembled or disassembled. It arrives in pieces and suddenly it's magically all together for the video.

Great, another entitled brat who's too lazy to read an instruction manual, instead relying on a RU-vid video to do the heavy lifting for them. Seriously, it's one thing to go looking for a video for help, but to take the time to give the creator grief for not including the assembly instructions is just plain ridiculous.
