Sushi I agree with ya 100%. I tore the meniscus in my left knee at 25, and my Achilles tendon at 32, both while playing basketball. When you’re an athlete though, and you’re passionate about your sport, it’s amazing what your body can do. Kobe is a top 5 baller in my book, but him dunking at that age isn’t that big of a deal. Cool, but if I could do it at 5’10’ up until age 38, he damn sure could 🤓

Kobe was a bench player the first couple years and his 3rd season was shortened to 50 games by the strike. Fun fact: Kobe only played 5055 minutes in his first 3 NBA seasons. That's only 1948 more minutes than MJ played at North Carolina in 3 seasons. So we're talking a difference that equates to 54 starts (at 36 minutes average). Kobe had 54 more games worth of wear and tear than MJ at the same age. So it's not like Kobe had all this extra wear and tear later on.

He went to play 8 straight games without taking any minutes off. I remember when a reporter asked kobe in Jan 2013, "Will the Lakers make the playoffs?" at the time the record was 18-26. kobe replied with "of course" the man carried the team until his body gave out.

Age 34 Kobe was the most fun Kobe to watch. He willed us that year. Everything was going wrong, but he got us above .500. Unfortunate his achilles tore after that, but it was symbolic in a way of just how hard he worked that season.

34 is not old at all, a man reaches his absolute physical prime at 37 years old, so all this shit with people saying you are old when you are over 30, you are either stupid, or 14 yrs old, the only reason guys decline so hard past 32 is either because of injuries or they stop pushing themselves the way the used too, they have achieved their dreams, so they are no longer driven
