Vanessa Bryant delivers a speech on behalf of Kobe Bryant upon their being enshrined to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame as part of the class of 2020.
As much as it’s hard to be talking about Kobe Imagine what she’s going through with the loss of her daughter. To stay composed like this is outstanding. RIP to all 9 victims
Dude please I beg you help stop Israel from murderering Palestines especially infants getting buried alive under wreckage and mutilated from bombing spread the message and get info before judging
Now that Vanessas has been in the public more, I can definitely see how Kobe became so great. He had the right person that had his back. No doubt Vanessa is strong and great
I guess his father who played in the NBA and overseas. Had nothing to do with his career. Oh, not to mention his father currently coach in the WNBA. Kobe did come from a two parent household. But Vanessa made him into a hall of famer.
💯 and people trying to say she was with him for his money!! NOT!! She was the rock and stood by him through everything. God bless his beautiful Queen Mamba and his daughters 💙❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
This comment deserves 1,000,000 likes. I’ve watched Kobe dominate the playoffs and the regular season my whole life. 2007- . And to have him go like that. Brought I wave of shock to the whole world. I cried, and I can’t even imagine the pain her and her family went through when they found out he passed away
You can tell that this was extremely tough for Jordan. He knows how much Kobe loved him and respected him. He was looking so forward to many more challenges (as we’re we all) with Kobe after basketball. God bless Vanessa and Jordan for their love for Kobe (and the fans).
I feel sorry for her....she looks dead in the eyes but still trying to remain strong for her existing daughters. Wow.....I don't even have words. God bless this woman.
MJ already teared up even before Kobe's wife speak. Kobe's death really tore MJ's heart into pieces. Vanessa is a strong lady .. she needs to for the kids Kobe left behind to her.
She’s rich so she’s got that. Ironically if they couldn’t have afforded the heli ride Kobe would be eating dinner with his kid. Luxury living did him in
As coaches have said - it’s not how you start, it’s how you finish. Kobe finished at the top of his game, inspiring so many others. That’s hall of fame in the book of life.
Dude please I beg you help stop Israel from murderering Palestines especially infants getting buried alive under wreckage and mutilated from bombing spread the message and get info before judging
You really don't know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have. I can't stop admiring this woman's strength since her husband's painful exit. God bless Vanessa and her girls.❤❤❤
Damn man you can look at her eyes and see how the toll of Kobe and GiGi's passing impacted her. Their passing is the biggest travesty in sports history. God bless her and her family.
Yeah it would impact anyone that way ... god was behind her to give her the strength she she needed to have that speech done and brought it to the forefront .
I still tear up. Vanessa was definitely his Soul Mate. She understood and understands what the Mamba Mentality is. Natalia is filled with that strength also. How they handled this in public is a testimony to how great of a mentor he was to so many.
For someone who is usually out of the spotlight, Vanessa did an incredible job speaking to the public with various speeches while keeping her composure
Everyone who lived the 90’s especially the late 90’s knew Mj like to hang out with 3 guys, 2 he considers his little brothers, that was Derek Jeter and Kobe Bryant, he’s on video calling them both his little brothers. The other guy was a golfer named Tiger woods. That was the crew, MJ, jeter , Kobe, and tiger. Kobe didn’t go out with them as much after he got married.
Strong 90's R&B type of love...so spot on. I was looking for a way to describe their love and connection and this is exactly it. Thank you for your comment.
If he had been inducted in 2019 just like he should have then she wouldn’t have to give this speech on his behalf! This is his speech to give not hers!
Dude please I beg you help stop Israel from murderering Palestines especially infants getting buried alive under wreckage and mutilated from bombing spread the message and get info before judging
I wish Kobe had been inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2019 while he was still alive! What difference does it make whether you’re fully retired for 3 seasons in a row or 4?! Fully retired is fully retired!
@@arabianprince7508 GOVERNMENTS ARE EGOTISTICAL...THEY START WARS AND SEND ITS CITIZENS TO BE SLAUGHTERED...WHY DO THEY DO THAT? BECAUSE THEY HAVE NO CHECKS AND BALANCES FROM ITS CITIZENS.
she’s so beautiful... love that she wore purple and gold. i can’t imagine outliving the love of your life, much less your own child in addition, but she’s managed to make it through better than i could ever imagine anybody being able to.
You know you did something in your life when the man you admired introduces you. May we all achieve that level of Mamba Mentality to achieve our goals.
I'm a Celtic's fan. But as a spectator of the game, you can't help but love Kobe. He was part of a special breed. He kept the Celtics Lakers rivalry alive, and it was spectacular to watch.
Kinda undignified not showing up tbh. I mean they’re honoring him. The least he could do is show up. His daughter too, it’s like does she even support his career?
This must be incredibly difficult for Vanessa. She has always seemed like someone who isn't comfortable with being the center of attention. (Public Speaking is an introverts worst nightmare) but she does it. For her love of Kobe, his legacy, their children, and us, the fans. It's admirable. And appreciated.

lmao This woman posts every time she farts on social media. "I'm so uncomfortable being the center of attention." They'd have divorced in 2003 but for that $4 million down payment he put on her. She bribed him for even more money in 2013 to stay married. And after his tragic demise, she filled the void by suing and getting money from the blue collar workers who had to clean up the toxic dump site that resulted from her husband's stupid decision to fly to a little girl's basketball game. Anyone who's ever read about her knows that her and her mother were after money, and Kobe liked paying for hookers. She was the Queen of them all, and he had the deepest pockets. After this happened, everyone forgot the cheating, the near-divorce in 2011, the big old ring he bought her just to keep her married, and the continued cheating. This woman cared about his money. I've never seen any genuine emotion about his passing. Now her daughter? Absolutely. That one stings.
One of the most beautiful speeches I've heard, she held it together through all of that pain for everyone else, that is grace. THAT right there is a champion. Rest in peace King.
@@randomdude189 You're an embarrassment to the culture you come from and the people who raised you, I feel for you dude, for real. Your comments in this video simply highlight you as a coward with no integrity, looking at yourself in the mirror must really make you feel ashamed of who you are, let's just be realistic here, i feel for you. You're a scared human being in real life and that's why you are behind a screen making comments like this, man that's tough. Do better and get further in life you little victim. ❤
But they shouldn’t have waited this long to induct him! Thirty should have inducted him into the HOF in 2019 while he was still alive and fully retired for just over 3 years! Then she wouldn’t have had to give the speech on his behalf!
Kobe passing away is one of the saddest moments in my life. Although I didn’t get to see this man play. I knew how good he was. All I heard was KOBE when shooting. Kobe Bryant is my favorite player of all time and plan on wearing the number 8. He is in heaven looking down at his family and friends with his daughter Gigi. I can’t believe that this man passed away, but despite not being there for his speech. His wife and his idol were there to celebrate his achievement instead. His presence was there and everyone could feel it. This man is a legend and will be a person I will talk about when I have kids. R.I.P Black Mamba and the other passengers on the plane crash in Calabasas on January 26, 2020
Reading this makes you sound very young given you unfortunately didn’t get to see him play, however you are very well “spoken”. I feel sorry you didn’t get to see this legend play he was one of a kind. I was lucky enough to start watching basketball the year he won his 5th championship, I was only 9 and was still understandings the rules but I remember it like yesterday. Absolutely phenomenal.

He would be proud. For a player that was always looked at as doing it by himself, it's fitting that his best teammate give him praise on this great accomplishment. Legend.
I couldn’t even begin to imagine how hard it must have been for Vanessa to stand up there after losing Kobe and Gianna. I respect her strength & courage and send Vanessa, her girls and their family my best wishes for the future. Kobe sounds like he was an amazing dad to those beautiful girls and you can tell Vanessa adored him.
I invited my mother[in-law] and father-in-law to tonight's enshrinement to thank them one of the most amazing human beings into this world. Pam and Joe, thank you for raising Kobe to be exceptional. Thank you to all of Kobe's family. Sharia, you've gone above and beyond. I love you," Vanessa said about her sister-in-law. SPEAKER
Its May 2000 and I'm attending my first Lakers game at Staples. My dad did his best but we had nosebleed seats . That experience sticks with me because of being able to see KB and O'Neal on the court . THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES!
My first laker game was is last game in New Orleans and took my Lil bro. And surprised him and wanted him to see a G.O.A.T and my favorite player in person. We sat 11th row from the floor. Felt like a lil kid again and my lil bro was having the time of his life. Definitely worth the prices of the tickets.
I couldn’t watch this a couple weeks ago because my heart and mind are still not able to comprehend Kobe Bryant’s death. I will never forget where I was on that sad Sunday. Vanessa your strength is amazing. I still cried watching you speak so eloquently about your love , your husband. He is so proud of you and your sweet babies 💜
I still cry every time I look at his infectious smile and the legacy of his beautiful family. Vanessa personifies STRENGTH, LOVE, AND FORGIVENESS. R.I.P. KOBE, GIGI and all the other victims of that fateful crash. You are remembered all over the world. Thank God for RU-vid and all the clips we can view.
Hard to watch this without a tear dropping out of your eye. Kobe will be remembered forever as a dedicated husband, father, role model and nba great. May he rest in peace
@@jaystewart4830 it says other wise about that moment, not about his over all behavior. While your statement has truth in it, show some class and respect fam. This isn’t the time for that.
Agreed Jay bad husband and a rat for telling on Shaq that he did the same thing. But father, athlete and provider we cannot deny. We lost a great player and did you see the woman Kobe was with in Eagle🤮 look at Vanessa 🤩
But it’s just not fair that Kobe wasn’t here to give the speech but Tim and KG were just because they live in cities where they never have to take helicopters because they can drive just about everywhere!
It feels just like yesterday that Kobe was just starting his rookie season. Time goes by so fast. Even though he played for the Lakers the team I hate the most it was a pleasure to watch him his entire career. RIP to one of the greatest ever.
What a beautiful tribute by Vanessa Bryant easily to see aside from all of his success and accomplishments on and off the court he valued and cherished his children more than anything else.
What courage and strength! My eyes were tearing up during her speech. She had so much composure for what must have been an extremely difficult moment. Extraordinary!
When she thanked Kobe’s haters who doubted him you can see a look in MJ eyes that he could identify with These players in this era would be out 2 seasons worth of games with what Kobe endured.
Man, it's so unreal to still believe Kobe is gone. Duncan was my favorite player growing up, but Kobe was a close second, it's just so hard not to appreciate not only his game but his persona. Amazing athlete, amazing person. R.I.P. Kobe, you'll never be forgotten.
I am balling my eyes out rn 💔😭😭 What a true love story ❤ my heart goes out to you, Vanessa and your precious little girls. Kobe Bryant was and will always be the all-time Greatest. RiParadise king.
Her speech made me tear up. He was a special man beyond basketball. He was an intellectual and i loved hearing him speak with passion about the subject he was talking about. Kobe was gifted with addition to having drive and motivated to completed the task.
I still don’t know how she does it. Incredibly strong and it was a beautiful speech. Even though I was born and live in Boston Kobe was always my idol. His competitiveness is unmatched and a beautiful thing to watch
i really can’t believe or accept that fact that kobe is gone . vanessa is so strong 💜 my heart aches for her and the rest of the family and friends everyday . my prayers and heart goes out them
Everytime I watch this I wind up In tears. I come back to it every now and then for motivation. Miss you Kobe. Your wife is an extremely strong woman. Respect forever to Vanessa and the Bryant family.
You can really see the anger in her eyes at the end, to go with her sorrow. More than a year has passed. She's justifiably so furious this happened to him and her daughter. She's also angry for the tragic loss she and her two daughters have suffered.
Why be furious? Chit happens to us all in life. Life is not all flowers and lollipops. It’s terrible what happened but many other people have faced much worse. She also has a lot of money to make her life easy, she’s not like some women who are left penniless when their husbands die and then have to go out and work two menial jobs to keep food on the table and a roof over her and her kids heads. Kobe would be alive today if he had just driven a car instead of helicoptering everywhere like he was Prince Charles or something. Also, why weren’t Pam and Jellybean invited on stage to say a few words about their son? The man is dead, bury the hatchet. I hope they are able to be a part of their grandchildren’s lives.
@@lisamarielund6292 No he wouldn't be alive today if he would have driven a car because it was his time. It was already written before he was born. Death comes for us all.
Kobe was a monster, a legend, and one of the kind. When Vanessa started to list Kobe playing through various injuries throughout the game, and even the season...man...that's the Mamba Mentality.
What a queen. Behind every great man is a strong woman. Beautiful speech. Kobe would have been so proud. One of the best to ever do it, KOBE BEAN BRYANT. You will be missed, always.
We are so blessed that we got a chance to witness the life of Kobe Bryant. Above mastering the game of basketball, he displayed the limitless ability to achieve by mastering the power of mind. His mindset allowed him to be the best at everything on and off the court. I didn’t know him personally but I am thankful for the way he lived and the example that he left for us to learn from 🙏❤️.
Mamba Forever. Well deserved First Ballot Unanimous. My childhood hero, hometown icon, adult role model. We still mourn him in Los Angeles. Mamba Forever.
Vanessa Bryant - You're The Iron Woman. I swear, to come back from that kind of a loss, to graciously speaking about him during his Memorial and HOF program was emotional yet beautiful. God bless you with Positivity and Strength. Bryant Family ❤️❤️🙏🙏
Growing up watching Kobe play were some of my favorite moments. I remember making my dad pay for NBA league pass just so I could always watch you play. Thank you for all of the memories and teaching me mamba mentality ❤
Kobe will continue to inspire future generations of boys and girls with his incredible determination, resolve and mentality. He changed how I play basketball and more importantly, how I think. Rest In Peace Kobe and Gianna. You will not be forgotten. Black Mamba forever 🐍
Most things in life you can get through and heal. This isn't one of them. I cannot imagine how it is for his wife and their children going to bed every night and waking up every morning without those two. I cannot imagine. It only brings tears thinking about it. What a beautiful speech though, that was hands down.
