@@camlop8635 they meshed immediately because kobe was no stranger to the European scene. Spent many years in Italy as a child. Also, Pau is very intelligent, and kobe liked that. They were on the same page right away, in terms of basketball IQ. I'm a Laker fan, so I remember Pau came in and immediately scored 30 points in his first Laker game after the mid season trade, and the lakers won easily. You could see kobe's excitement that he was finally back on a championship team
Nobody is perfect but It would be 100% wrong hating on this man. Always a class act, respecful. Very very rare nowadays….same with Dirk 👌 majority of palyers now are arrogant, cheap act. Well, people in general, with money or less….
I'm with you on that one, Kobe would totally be proud! I bet if Kobe was still here, he would be right up on that stage along with Pau to honour him into the Hall of Fame!
Pau always gives love to Kobe and as a Kobe fan, I wanna give love to Pau. This dude deserves being in the HOF and he definitely is one of the best PFs the game has ever seen
How was he so eloquent? No ums or ahhhss..it just flowed for 30 minutes non stop. I'm 40 and I would of peed in my pants and started stuttering numerous times.
@@followthewhiterabbit8561 most atletes have to speak to the public so much that eventually they get used to collecting their thoughts and letting them out smoothly. It's even more impressive for pau since this isn't his native language same for dirk and tony.
@@Rotsen-br9zq yh I agree I'm just saying it's impressive since his native language isn't english. His speech was definetly one of the best tho although I think wade took the cake this year with his.
This is the kind of person that needs to be in the spotlight and in the media more. This is the person the youth should look up to and inspire to be. This is the type of person the country better yet our world needs more of. Very very real human being 👏 ❤️
Pau was such a skilled player, it was great to see him in the post and go to work. The champ runs were memorable and the way he continues to honor Kobe & his family is admirable. Grats to him on an amazing career
Pau gasol was definitely a huge changer for the lakers and definitely kobe. Pau quite literally replaced the hole that Shaq left, but Pau was able to knock down mid range shots and get down inside the paint easily. Also the reason why Kobe has a lot of assists since he didn’t really pass the ball😂also help the lakers to win 2 chips. Well deserved pau 👏
As a French, I want to hate this guy because he was so good with the Spanish National team and defeated us so many times. But I can't. He was a real monster on the court. A fantastic player. I'm only 5 minutes in his speech, and I can't hate this guy. He made a great rivalry against France, and we always knew that when we would have to play Spain, it would be difficult mainly because of this guy. Hall of fame totally deserved for a great player and what seems to be a great man too.
Pau was a big differences when he came to the Lakers in 2008. He was that second player carrying this team along with Kobe that won back to back titles. When he talked about Kobe, I got a little emotional. Pau and Kobe were so close as teammates, friend and brothers and how he wish Kobe was there.
@@cameronvaughn8434 HAHA not true, Kobe carried Pau, Pau was carried by Kobe, Pau has had 0 success without Kobe and that proves it, Kobe had 3 rings and should have won an MVP or 2 without Pau 🤷♂️
@@d3adyoutubeaccountthose 3 straight finals in '08 '09 and '10 and the rings in the latter 2 that Kobe got would not have been won if Pau Gasol were not on that team.
Probably one of the best if not the best HOF speeches I have heard! I wasn't much of a PG fan, nor a Kobe fan, but you have to give credit where credit is due! Excellent Job!
Congrats Pau! Kobe would be proud of you cause he knew it all along that one day you'll be here. Seeing that empty seat next to Vanessa brings me tears.😢
Lakers fans all around the world are cheering. Seeing him and my main man Kobe winning the chip was the spark that made me love basketball thank you for everything Pau
Wow. I was awestruck by the man’s pace, the thoughtfulness of which he went through literally a scope of 20 years doing it so gracefully and elegantly with humility. Thank thank goodness it was Pau because I can see he’s going to carry Kobe‘s legacy in the forefront of everything that he mentions and then he does.
Wish Kobe was here to see Pau’s induction. Pau said in an interview a few days ago that he would had Kobe welcoming him to the Hall of Fame had he been alive. Rip Kobe 💛💜
RIP to Kobe Bryant. You will be messed. Pau Gasol was HIM!!! He was that due for a long long time. One of the most underrated big man that barely gets talked about
Ain't no other teammate like the great Kobe Bryant, welcome's you to the team, and talks straight 'bout Championship!!😤 I mean who does that in this era?
Still remember I was at breakfast at granby high school when I found out we got him , couldn’t wait to go home and put him on the lakers in 2K9, damn good times bruh 😢😢😢😢 RIP Kobe
As a laker fan, and more importantly, an NBA fan Pau was not only a great player, he was a great image for the league. Professional in every way. Gave his all to the game. Well deserved. Kobe is definitely smiling down
Congratulation on your induction at the Hall of Fame. Thank you for the Championships you played with our Idol and hero Kobe Bryant (RIP). Stay safe and take of yourself and Family!
Bro why they gotta mention Kobe in the title just to get more clicks…this is Pau’s moment, no offense to Kobe and his family but real fans know that Pau was gonna mention him in his speech 🙏
Damn it man this is why I love pau so damn humble , his frame tho remindes me of Phil Jackson’s. I wonder if he would coach possibly .. I think he would be a excellent coach
This comment is not to discredit Pau in any shape or form but you gotta imagine the pain he feels with not having the man who elevated his career from all star level to a first ballot hall of famer, we miss you Kobe and Gigi ❤️
I still remember back from 08-2010 every analyst calling him "the most skilled big man in the nba" and "the best passing big man in the nba" .... and in 2015 he is 2nd team all nba again in Chicago
