@LynxStarAuto
@LynxStarAuto 6 месяцев назад
@@TheStylishChefCheeseI do see it that way. I also listen to both Shaq & Kobe on Phil's approaches. Both have spoken highly about him with good reason. Kobe once shared in an interview about what a great mind Phil was. Shaq went down with an injury, and Phil asked Kobe to pick up the slack. So Kobe did. When Shaq healed up and returned, Kobe was still going full on, and it was disrupting team chemistry. Phil asked Kobe to dial it back. Kobe said why? Phil replied because if you keep going like you're going, I'm going to lose Shaq. He's going to lose interest and focus, and we are going to need him for the playoffs. Dial it back now, so we have the big fella clicking on all cylinders come playoff time. Kobe was like 🤯 holy shit, you're right. So he dialed it back, and big fella smoothly transitioned back into the lineup. He mentioned how Phil had a vision and mind for the little things, and how smart he was. I also don't know if I could agree that Phil used Kobe as a scapegoat. Those couple of years after Shaq left, Kobe was just a bad teammate and player to be around in general. He pushed everyone away (acknowledged by himself), and the lakers were pretty bad. It took Phil coming back, and Kobe dialing it back again, for him to win 2 more.

@@LynxStarAuto it took the lakers to get any kind of servicable player to put next to Kobe for them to get it together. Phil never did anything without the 2 best shooting guards in the history of the game. Did he save the day when they were falling apart to detroit? Nah, cause hes not on the court. Zen master tho, oooh... the triangle has never done anything, anywhere without Kobe or MJ. Doc Rivers won a chip. If that doesnt tell you how little it takes from a coach, I dunno what will. The funny thing is, so many folks back then were hating on Kobe, blaming him for the breakup and saying he was selfish etc. No. Kobe was the one busting his but every single year, adding moves to his game, working out with other players in the league to learn their moves (Dirk, Dream etc.) so….. just like anyone else in any workplace, if you are out working your coworkers and they are getting preferential treatment and their lack of effort or readiness directly affects your success……. Here's a theory: Phil was notorious for playing mind games. Maybe he told Shaq this to test Kobe's leadership qualities. Considering he didn't intervene by telling Kobe to chill, Phil may have wanted to see if Kobe or anyone else would step up to demand accountability from Shaq.

Michael Jordan and LeBron James were born to play basketball. It’s crazy but everyone in MJ’s family is like under 6 feet (including all his brothers and his father) and of course we know the physical specimen LeBron has always been. MJ was the same. Why I respect Kobe so much though is because he was never blessed with top tier athletic gifts. Don’t get me wrong. He was more physically gifted than 99% of the population. But the NBA is the top 99.9999999% in the world. Kobe put himself as one of the top 10 to ever play the game because he BELIEVED he belonged there. He wasn’t even as gifted as McGrady or Vince Carter. But he willed himself to where he got and, very much like Steph, became legendary without the physical gifts of his peers. This is also what makes a guy like Luka so special.

SHAQ Still DOMINATED, The brother was a DAMN ATHLETIC GIANT AMONGEST BOYS, Everyone is different people, So When you guys sit up here and glorify Kobe, YOU NEED TO PULL UP THE TAPES ON BIG FELLOW & MAYBE THEN IT WILL MAKE YOU LOOK AT THIS FROM A DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE!!! ✌🏿

Watched them both, Whole careers. Shaq was in shape when he played for LSU, Let's not forget about Chris Jackson and Stanley Roberts. As a superstar athlete, when a team is paying you 180 million over six years you should be in shape. Kobe did what a professional does, work hard and perfect his game. That's what a elite professional athlete is supposed to do, not sit around and eat without a care. Sounds like you're trying to shame Kobe for working hard. It's the NBA, not the court in the hood.

7”1 320lbs is a lot more difficult to move around than a skinny Kobe.. What they had was perfect. As long as he was ready when it counted I had no problem with it. Kobe should’ve neither. Shaq would use the season to get in shape, while he was getting in shape Kobe was lighting it up. If Shaq came into training camp as in shape as his rookie season Kobe would’ve had a lot less shots which might’ve been an issue, Shaq would’ve won additional mvp’s which might’ve been an issue.. They won back to back to back so it was obviously working.. 😡😡🤬🤬🤬🔥🤬🔥🤬🤬!!!!!!!!!!! What could’ve been? A MINIMUM of 2 more rings.. After that, if we got ring chasing HOF’s or All Stars like Making & Payton (SOB! Was I excited over that😡🤬) & they started healthy or reserved for the playoffs, who knows 🤷‍♂️??

Kobe doesn't care if you're not good, if you have 💯 dedication for your craft and you work on it and you've gone beyond your limit, then you'd have his respect. Shaq was good, but he was lazy, Kobe knew what he would become if he put on the work, but he did not. That's why Kobe claimed that he would've easily gotten 12 championships and Shaq would be the GOAT. But Shaq did not bother to reach his full potential and that's what disappointed Kobe...

Kobe and Jordan is like you gonna have to earn my respect to get this ball thats not being selfish thats being smart so therefore you won't have a J.R. Smith moment again lol why would Jordan and Kobe keep passing the ball to their team mates when its time to close a game you putting too much pressure on them Lebron does that a lot to protect his stats and to say you see it was my team mate that fuc... up not me and that my friend is being selfish just in reverse Shaq won 1 without Kobe with no fmvp Kobe won 2 without Shaq and 2 mvps look like Shaq was giving them finals mvp because he was the veteran with the better look but Kobe game was better than Shaq Kobe can shoot threes, free throws, and was a better closer than Shaq and more focus Shaq can thank Kobe for them MVPs. Shaq of course win them mvps in that easy a.. finals game but who balled out everytime on the road to the finals yeah Kobe even when there toughest competition was on the West so them mvps don't really count Shaq couldn't do nothing to Duncan while Kobe was cooking Duncan ok so when the finals came Kobe sit back a little after he poured his heart out on the court in them tough a..
