It makes me angry when (mostly men) tell us that there is no way we could have known that Kohburger was a psychopath in real life. Bullshit! So many women who met him who were not even a target of his interest, sensed that he was ‘off’. Most women have a 6th sense when it comes to this and we need to learn to listen to our intuition instead of believing the BS that is so often pushed about how we couldn’t possibly intuit a man’s dangerousness.
@moneybags999
@moneybags999 Год назад
Well, to be fair, a person who is "off" may just be socially awkward. It doesn't make them a sociopath/psychopath. On the flip side, there are "normal" people who wind up being sociopaths or psychopaths because they know how to "read" people. They only way to get a true vibe for someone is to have interactions with them. They could be socially uncomfortable initially & wind up being cool once you get to know them, or they could be really terrifying or just someone you realize you don't want to get to know or be friends with.

Trusting your instincts is good... to a degree. Your intuition may be influenced by the fear of unknown or some deeply rooted cultural or racial prejudices. (Like if your instincts scream at you every time the other person is white/black /etc., then something is probably wrong with your instincts) Also there are situation, when you cannot afford to act on your instincts. If you are for example a teacher/nurse/waiter, you cannot just run away from your student/patient/customer, just because your intuition says they are creepy. Also there is a question if an originaly harmless person who for some reason triggers suspition in too many people, can't become a creep just because many people acted like they were one. But generaly yes, trusting your instincts is a good strategy. It's how our ancestors survived.

These analyzes and hunts for Kohberger quotes are starting to get ridiculous. He was certainly weird, obviously had trouble making the most ordinary human connections, but he was probably trying to be like everyone else, conforming to social norms - that's not a bad thing yet! Suddenly, all these friends, neighbors, etc. try to assure that they contacted him casually, ad hoc, they assure that they have nothing to do with him. Okay, that's understandable since he turned out to be a possible murderer, but the guy didn't function in a vacuum. If he was texting with his neighbor, he must have had the neighbor's phone number, so I guess they weren't that far apart. You don't give everyone your number, not even your neighbors. In big cities, sometimes you don't even know your neighbors at all. Making a case for the fact that Kohberger sent him thanksgiving wishes is absurd. It could mean something, or nothing at all, maybe he was just trying to be like other ordinary people in his breaks from madness. We all exchange meaningless sentences with other people, sometimes it just feels right, sometimes we want to be polite or nice, that's all. He probably tried too, no big deal. His trial will be fascinating when it finally starts, for now it's just a media search for sensational details and beating foam, nothing more.

yup. i had a friend, a guy i met through work. we hung out, i introduced him to my group of friends. he was a great guy, so much so, i took him on an alaskan trip fishing trip. but around girls, he'd literally stand and stare at them, like they were something new he had never seen before. it was very awkward. like even a group, standing talking, and we're all just a couple feet from each other, and he's standing there just staring at the girl. it was extremely awkward, and could even be called creepy. yet, there was zero creepy intent. he legit didn't realize it was awkward, or didn't realize he was staring. i'm guessing, looking back on it now, he was probably kinda awestruck by some of the girls. they were very attractive. i worked with with, and we were in a public environment, around other people. he wasn't weird in any way, even amongst females. so i think he was maybe just not used to being amongst real beauties, like friends-close. but it was definitely awkward as hell, the way he would just stare, even standing right beside them.

The reason this crime is so fascinating is bc it’s not something that happens all the time. There was no signs. Bryan was a smart, well-adjusted kid, awkward, yeah, but still pretty normal. His parents are still together, has 2 older sisters, friends, etc. This wasn’t someone with a record, creeping in the shadows- it was a phd student. The media is just ridiculous at this point. Sometimes as an adult. It's hard to make new friends new connections so it gets like this. He was craving for friends and a connection I see. But bc of his stares n acting weirdly people turned away. People do this to me also. Bc I'm high energy n put alot into my friends n people around me bc I have alot of love n care to give. N when those people u can clearly see don't want to be around you. It hurts its been happening to me for about 4 r 5 years now. At times u start to hate people. Alot of times I feel like what the heck is wrong with me for people not to like???? My high energy is all I can think. I talk alot ex. So I am kinda personalizing with him when I here these things. He's smart n no one ever wanted to chill with him. Then u start having dreams bad ones n voices telling u bad things. Ex. I'm NOT saying it's ok to give on n commit such a horrible crime.
