I went to Armenian church, Armenian school, and last year went to my first mass in Armenia. The experience was incredible. I instantly feel at home and at peace when I hear this music.

The Armenian Church uses Classical Armenian, not Western. Both the Western and Eastern dialects are similar to Classical. Western Armenian has retained a lot of words that have been lost in the Eastern dialect during the Soviet Era. Sayat Nova was Tbilisi, he spoke and composed songs in Eastern Armenian with many Persian and Turkish loanwords.
