I think this is a great idea. Konami is re-printing an extremely expensive set that supports more casual investors and also time wizard formats. They continue with other sets from the same error.
Why would it support time wizard formats? There are plenty of reprints that cost a few cents. I understand that its cool to pull the high rarity cards like Honest or Judgment dragon. However, Im really worried about the ultimate rares in here and ghost honest like ruxin already said
I’m actually extremely happy they’re re-printing an old set like this. Unfortunately, I got out of the game around the time of the lost millennium and came back in in 2019. So this gives me a great opportunity to reopen old stuff and get those cool old rarities without having to pay a crazy premium!
This is great news! I'll be picking up a booster box for sure. I hope some day they do like a "super" Legendary Collection and they finally reprint Labyrinth of Nightmare, Legacy of Darkness, and Magician's Force!

It's only the collectors and the investors who care about the secondary prices staying high. As a player, I like my decks being affordable, thank you very much. Some of you forget that these are trading card GAMES, and Konami's customers are the PLAYERS, not collectors.

@@wolfgangfegelein2450 I am player as well as collectior, even if i only play goat format, but reprinting old sets just because of few cards is pointless, and because of few cards whole sets will get worthless, i don't care much about prices but i don't want my cards to cost 0.3 or 0.5$.
OG unlims are still gonna be prettier and outshine new print secrets and shit, so even then someones new secret isint as special as my og secret. So whats really higher rarity
From a collectors perspective Yugioh is BRUTAL... so many reprints that cards get slammed into the $00.15 territory... and yeah sure this particular printing doesn't even seem really like a huge deal for pushing prices down BUUUUT you'd rather have this than MTG where the community it happy to get reprints of hardly playable cards from 20 years ago because they cost $50+ and now they only cost $40. Yugioh reprint everything into the ground strategy is SO good for consumers who want to play or casually collect for nostalgia. If you're looking to collect for investments stick to Magic and particularly the reserve list (I suspect one day they'll change their mind about that though)
You are right! In my opinion so many so called "collectors" absolutely destroyed the market with exagerated prices for collectors who collect for nostalgia reasons.
I wouldnt mix up 'collecting' with 'investing' Im a collector, i like to have the cards i like. I dont care about if it will be worth more in the future. Of my collection is worthless 10 years down the line, i dont care, because im not planning to sell it. If you are an investor who wants things to be worth money. Get 1st ed not unlimited
I hope not, old style ultis are much better than the newer ones. The hole card in the middle is stamped, not just the background. But it will most likely be in the newer style imo.
And this time, they should also upgrade the text on all cards. Not just reprint the cards with exactly the same text they had since the last time they were printed. Like, the effect on Bubonic Vermin in pharaonic servant (reprint) says to special summon another copy of itself in facedown defense, and then it says “ *then shuffle your Deck.* ”. It shouldn’t be hard at all to modernize the text. Some of the cards weren’t worded very clearly for you to know exactly how they were supposed to work.
I think they've identified that people like the particular high-rarities from LODT, and that LODT, PTDN and TDGS are historically some of the most popular sets but also the most scarce.
I know you weren't playing at the time but dont forget that STON and CRMS got reprinted in 2013/14 for the samurai special edition so there has been ones here and there over time

I’ll take a Blinged Out Judgement Dragon for Collection Purposes!!!! Light of Destruction needs a reprint because at the time Upper Deck messed up Light of Destruction!
Being able to rock some of the older rarity of lightsworns without having to hopefully pay a lot for them would be nice. Having a full common lightsworn deck for Edison is fun, but maybe having some of the higher rarity versions are always welcome and being able to use my actual LOD Lylas is a bonus too.
But by that logic we here in Europe never got sets like Dark Crisis, Legacy of Darkness, Magicians Force or Pharaonic Guardian either. Does that mean that we could get those too? I wouldn‘t be mad 😅
@@FloundBlacky It is possible you lived by a shop willing to import them. At that time period Europe wasn't consistently printing english cards. This had to do with issues in the beginning with getting product out in Europe. They would print worldwide english editions to catchup in Europe but at some point stopped doing that and just sent product overseas. It wasn't until the set starstrike blast cards were consistently printed in English in Europe.
Hm I dont know what to think. Havent played in months too. Maybe Im on the verge of quitting for good. Hopefully, lol. I feel like ygo is dying down in general, which is natural. They have printed most cards imaginable and gameplay is really suffering regularly. After 25 years its normal that you cant be original while printing 500 new cards a year while keeping the gameplay intact. Idk what to think of the whole 25th thing too. Imo they killed the contemporary coölectors market/ made it way too complicated and overcrowded. ( Degrading so many rarities as they did in rarity collection). Kinda sad..maybe ygo really hasnt many more years in it..
Konami should consider reprinting the first Kaiba and Yugi starter deck. Sure, they are useless but it's good for this current generation to experience what it is like to have the first YuGiOh starter decks.
1 reprint stuff like this is awesome 2 reprinting the original sets don’t sell well anymore do to them reprint them over and over 3 lodt is one of the best set for players and fans alike 4 sealed boxes of this set is crazy crazy high. 5 you are 100% not the guy to talk to investments about for singles lol
No worries my guy. No one understands why they keep reprinting cards and cheapening the older ones. Apparently they are just running out of creativity and not letting people wait patiently for them to come out with a better product between their releases.
I think that the 25th anniversary OG sets did so well maybe they're trying to gauge interest and success with printing some of these older sets to see where the limit lies in the desire for older sets reprints
This is a Crazy thought but, NO JOKE most Arcana Force Cards are only available in LODT and midterm destruction was the only reprint set for these cards plus we getting a Lightsworn deck so rarity chase I guess.

Hopefully Kongs cards or tier zero sell some max rarity lightsworn cores for a decent price. This set was made for me and it releases on my birthday :)
I don’t think these reprints will have the old school feel or look to them especially because of the copyright text on the bottom right hand of the card below the text box
This gets me excited about other future reprints. I loved the older sets and wish I was able to go through them as a kid, but nowadays their prices mean they're only good for sitting sealed on a shelf. Getting to experience them now would be amazing, I just hope they do end up bringing it over outside of europe
I don´t get it, either. And I can´t see a certain reason for releasing that specifically here in Europe. Not Neccessary at all, if you ask me. Maybe it´s cool for some people to have more cards in the new card format, but thats it. As I always mention in those situations: if they want to make huuuuge money in Europe, they just need to do reprints for LOD, PGD and MFC because we never got releases of these sets here, yet. For me as a German language collector, that would be awesome.
Yeah, ideally I would say either replace at least one main and one side set per year with a reprint each to slow the power creep or at least aside a week in July like last year where they just reprint 4 to 6 at a time. Or even better, just start printing boxes that are 5+ years old and put them up on their own site. Retailers won't care about product that old except the ones who price gouge for the investor numpties. Let people swing by and grab them whenever they want with a bit of a markup since they wouldn't be mass produced. This would also give them a more direct idea of exactly what sets people want when they do collections moving forward. Collections that could be modified versions of the original sets with different rarities like they should have done last year since they were changing the print anyway. Imagine if they were, say, LOBA-EN### where all of the rares were bumped up to the next level to mimick a modern pack and then everything ultra rare and above in the original set was also a quarter century secret of which you were guaranteed one per box (since there were six sets with 10 ultras and two secrets, that would mean there would be 72 total so at least one per box is warranted in such a system). I bet more people would have cared.
Good way to push out investors and collectors. Myself as a collector/investor in Yugioh, the reason we buy and collect the set/cards is because of its value over time, and now Konami wants to reprint valuable sets?? Good luck to all Yugioh collectors/investors. I'll be moving to other TCG.

No he wont be. He has 1st editions. Reprinting unlimited cards doesnt affect the price of 1st editions. I know I have 1st ed LOB and prices didnt changes when the new LOB boxes came out. The cards look different anyway.
I love that Konami is reprinting old sets! GX is my favorite era and the only affordable way to open these sets now is korean packs… The nostalgia for me is the best feeling! I will for sure open a few boxes of this set!

Wow, really? This is quite strange. I mean they didn't reprint PTDN, nor other older sets... I honestly don't understand the reason for that. I mean, why not making an updated new version like they did with Phantom Nightmare? Also, are the cards going to be the newer version like the 25th anniversary packs, or are they going to be old school style? I hope the ghost and ultis look great though... let's wait and see!
This is quite the surprise, great for getting those hard to get cards whose prices have gotten really high! Will be interesting to see how things go, but always nice to see old school getting reprints :)
I think they're avoiding the NA market specifically so that they don't step on collector's toes with reprinting these old cards. This is their way of not pissing off collectors while still getting to double-dip on the booster.
LoL. I just sold 6 sealed 1st ED LODT booster boxes last month that I have had since release .... $$$ . sold a preview weekend case of First Ed TDGS ... hopefully some ends up opened on youtube!!
I’m not seeing anything about this only being released for the EU. Konami has yet to say anything official. We just may end up getting an official US release.
Imagine they would reprint 5 OG displays again in addition to the 25th like Magicians Force, Dark Crisis, Labyrinth of Nightmare, Legacy of Darkness, Pharaonic Guardian or Ancient Sanctuary maaaan that would be soo cool
