Actually, this one sounds even better than the recording - the tempo is sped up in the live performance, which, besides sounding awesome, displays amazing musicianship
When James J.T. Taylor and Michael Ray performed that acrobatic stunt on the video for this song, it looked like an optical illusion. Now I can see that it was really done and perfectly executed as well and was Curtis Williams awesome on those keyboards or what? Never knew Ronald Bell played keyboards as well. Great stuff. God Bless Kool & the Gang.
Kool and the gang are a band that no one dislikes. It's impossible not to like them; whoever says they do is lying. Great stuff, JT is a great R&B vocalist...
This is GREAT!!! Has it all great sound, great song, great lead voice by JT and exciting LIVE entertainment. No B.S. no pyrotechnics, No 20 dancers or costume changes. This is what live shows used 2 be bout! Old skool= Best Skool!
That time Kool and the Gang brought a 10-piece band to West Germany and burned the studio to the ground. Not many dancers in the audience though. So glad this was recorded in high-quality, thank you to whoever made this gig happen.
Man, this is FUNKY!! And some really amazing synthesizer soloing on the Moog! :D These guys truly kicked ass. This is what's missing from current day bands: groove.
this is real funk . Blessed were the days when music was made under passion and not under pressure , urged by a hungry money making demand of a fallen musical market wich produces momentary artists
love the way the musicians and the singer don't care a shit if they're sweating or tired but still dancing with all the energy of the world, dame we need that this days
Love this song, love this band. As someone who has sung live with a band this cracks me up - live performances are always sooo fast!! Hahaha... I still love this though. 😊
SO STRANGE the way everyone in the crowd is basically just standing there? It's as if they're all wondering if it's all right to dance..Shit people! It's a song CALLING YOU to the dance floor! GET UP AND BOOGIE! I'D BE RAGING!
+chubby 00 OMG - what a stupid statement! What does it mean "you think"? It means you guess, nothing else. I'm a German and I saw Barry White 3 times, Diana Ross 2 times, Stevie Wonder, Kool & the Gang and Earth, Wind & Fire in Munich (Bavaria, Southern Germany). Every time, thousands of fans sang their songs and celebrated them with huge respect and admiration. Stop acting like a brainless racist.
Singers, dancers, musicians.........live...........now that's talent. I miss those days when you were truly entertained. Nothing today compares with ol' school.
This group is the very best. Every single thing they do is awesone. Harmony, dancing, musicians, SINGING. The best group ever the whole group is sooo talented. And JT .he us my heart throbe. What a voice. The very best. The deserve an academy award. !!!. Bravo . 😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤
The best live funk ever, but the public in show can't be funky so white 😉. And keytar minimoog solo amazing is like analogic blaster shooting rhythm and blues with power. thx
Cudo's to one of the baddest group of funk masters to grace us their presence and musical harmony and play instruments in the key of " get yo ass up off the floor, dance come on " I've had the wonderful privilege of gowing up to the music they created for us that ever graced the vinyl wheels from Summer Madness & Funky stuff to Joanna & celebration - J.T. Taylor & Co. created a collection of classic examples of the funkiest dance grooves for us to enjoy for ever. Thanks for keeping funk alive people . ✌😎
oh yeah! after seeing one of the sickest live performances ever i am just DYING to see a dude play an acoustic cover! no bass, synth, or drums? PERFECT
Me.. Being 18 years old now, REALLY wish I could go back in time, to this kind of music's era, when I go to town.. I would ssoooo much rather get my groove on to this.. Than the popular music today like Ke$ha. 5/5 for some legendary music
J.T. and his voice!..and look how live the gang was!..J.T. seems like he was with the gang from the beginning. so relaxed with it all!..he could not be a background singer he started it to be then Ronald heard that voice! an said!.OUCH!.
You said it right, this is what music is all about, these days it seems that BS sells, it can only mean one thing you are what you buy,,,,,nothing can beat the old school jams period
Folks! This is another song by Cool & The Gang, This is when James " J.T " Taylor was with the group, before he went to solo.Get Down On It!!! Infact, this group has treated us with great music back in the days. Get down, but take it easy { Suave }
Yes Joe I agree. This is possibly the best thing I have ever seen in my life. Kool and the gang must be the greatest unit of men to ever grace this planet. I'm always down on it.
