‘Disorderlies’ is still one of my favorite slap-stick, no need to think, comedies EVER since the film debuted on HBO in the late 1980’s.... I passed down the luv of ‘Disorderlies’ to my children when they were young, now it is one of their favorites as well, hope keep passing....

The Fat Boys were one of the first Hip-Hop groups to have Gold and Platinum albums. They were right up there with Run-DMC, Whodini, Beastie Boys and LL Cool J to me

For my 9th b-day I got their "Fat Boys" album, and I'm Asian-American. This was a time when rap music was fledgling, esoteric and on the verge of becoming mainstream. I always thought their album cover was hilarious, how they're standing on the pizza box wearing the jail suits. Then I started liking rap music more and more, so I got UTFO's single "Roxanne, Roxanne" with "Hanging Out" on the B-side. Then I got some RUN D.M.C. tapes, that I recorded off of other people's sources; I don't know if you remember but if you had a dual tape deck in the 80's, that's what people used it for; it'd be like "downloading music illegally" by today's standards....I always thought the Fat Boys lyrics in "Stick 'Em" and "The Place to Be" were ahead of their time. Rap music was so special during the 80's; it was very magical feeling at the time. Rap/hip hop today is so commodified that I barely pay attention.

I had there tape when I was 12. Chubby Checker and the Fat boys. First time hearing beat boxing. I was astounded by how you guys did that. Just like how Public Enemy and how good they were with putting words together. You guys were tight. Beastie Boys classic rock punk rap thing going on. I'm 44 know and I will never get tired of it.😎😎😎
U know it. The Human Beatbox especially had dudes beatboxing in the corners in the restrooms in school and shit, beatbox and rap battles going on making everybody late to class lol. Good times..them Fat Boys is legends!

Not in the 80s so much.....that all started when the new blacksploitation movies that came out in the 90s. Great movies but the fallout from the younger impressionable minds that were effected was off the charts and we've never gotten back on track since. That's when neighborhoods turned into"hoods"

@@infectedmuhrom6039 Kool Herc wasn't a rapper. Kool Herc was a breakdancer who became a dj when he noticed dancers would go crazy when the breakbeat part of the song came on. So he would only play just that part of the song. Yes he's a Jamaican who lived in the Bronx but he's not a rapper
I always assumed the Bronx was the birth of Hip-hop and people from another borough came to the park jams in the Bronx to experience hip-hop live 4the 1st time or were listening to Red Alert and Mr Magic on radio to experience hip-hop that was exclusive to Bronx. I'm African so may have gotten the history wrong?

Legendary. 🔥🔥🔥 Kool Rock has an interesting stage name. In the old school era, most MC would tag either Love, Rock, Ski, or Kool at the end of their stage names. It feels his stage name was rushed or a last minute thing like how they went from being called the Disco 3 to The Fat Boys.
YESSSIR!!! The original brrrrip! Yes the youngins today are still feeling the Fat Boys. They brought the park jam vibe to the world. Flow chemistry and adlibs were unmatched. They could sound like a whole band with no equipment.
These brothas had such a profound mark on my childhood. Talent shows with my rap group and I was the human beatbox for my crew. Full circle to plays these songs for my 8 year old daughter and she can enjoy the music because there was no cursing in these great songs.
Although the industry turned them into caricatures of themselves and it worked but aside from that the Fat Boys actually had talent. Salute to the Fat Boys.

Where's the rest of interview????!!! I like how he kept it honest he only knew local Djs!!! He was only 12-13 unless you have friends that travel or have cars you only know local people. Thats where mixed tapes, records, t.v. videos, magazines come in less you have someone that travels or knows someone. We were the same age at the 1985 NYC fresh fest!!!
