Kopi Concepts Deva Single Dose Coffee Grinder | Review 

So as someone who's owned one of these grinders for over a year now, and used it every day, there are a few points I might usefully add. First, there are way more than three units in existence - I think there's been a slight mixup here in that I suspect the unit being reviewed was the third to be produced (given that Sara is one of the three people running the company), but they've been busy fulfilling all the crowdfunded orders since. Second, I can only agree with the sentiment regarding the design, build and usability - it's a joy to use and those 64mm flat burrs produce outstanding coffee that's noticeably better than I got from my previous grinder (a Baratza Vario). For some, the fact that it runs off a (common and easy to replace) battery will be irrelevant, but it's been one of the biggest pluses for me. The brushless DC motor means that the battery lasts months between charges and, with a relatively small kitchen space, I can tuck it out of the way when it's not being used, and bring it out when I need it, and not having to deal with cables is fabulous. As for retention, while pulsing the motor is a good tip, I use a Giottos Rocket air blower instead, down the throat of the grinder as it's finishing its run, and with that retention is effectively zero. I've had mixed experiences with Kickstarter projects, but this has been something of a gold standard, as much in terms of the communication from those behind the product as from the device itself.

A show of the workflow, how you clean the burrs, how you can swap them, how is the alignment out of the box? Sounded more like a review of the looks and that's about it.

I love my Eureka grinder, quality and very simple to use, I mostly use it for single dosing, and I always get a great coffee

Had my eye on this since the Kickstarter. There is absolutely no way there are only 3 units in existence though! There was one on the "auction site" in March. He was a Kickstarter backer and received the unit in May 2022.

I hope you get a chance to review the Zerno Z1 at some point. I have one on order for August.

The main reason for it being battery operated was to provide constant dc power from from batteries. The idea is that ac power has to many fluctuations.

Don't understand why such a nice designed machine doesn't have a design (mini) hoper, removeable or not.

I feel like a full size electric grinder being portable, is it's weakest "feature". 99.9% of people will never move there grinder.

So sad that the brand didn't send their device to more reputable RU-vidrs. Strange strategy.
