As a korean adopted to Norway, who has never been to Korea after adoption, I love to see all your episodes, and learn about Korea. Hope to one day see Korea, and eat all the good foods you have.
Thankfully I've been to Korea a few times in my life, it's an incredibly beautiful country and even the crowded cities are awesome to visit or live in I'd imagine. The food though, is on another level. The only other countries that rival the street foot scene, and the normal food in Korea - is Japan, Thailand and a few other countries like Vietnam etc. Of course, the food here in the US is amazing (other than the garbage fast food naturally) and I'm sure many countries have amazing food. But the Asian countries are on another level if you ask me food wise.
I'm eating taco bell as i watch this and am regretting my life choices just a little bit. Also, where did you get that tiger shirt that you wore in the ad bc it's amazing. Oh, and you're right -- it's probably cherry jam, Black Forest Cake is traditionally made with cherries.
Haha their black forest was very very good. And I like the tiger shirt, too! In real life, it looks very low quality kind of like a cosplay costume from wish
Easily one of the best value restaurants I think Jimmy has shown us, even at $130 PP. Unlimited Moet? A bottle of that usually retails for $60 by itself and then to get all that quality KOREAN food is just cherry on top. Definitely going to try this place out.
I was curious what it retailed for here in Europe, they go for 28.95 Euro or about 32 usd or about 42.850 south Korean won. Bulk wholesale it is probably cheaper.
My mom grew up poor in Grenada, she ate fish egg all the time. When she went to America, she didn’t understand why a lot of the food here were for the rich when she ate them for free in her country lol
Probably availability and scarcity. I grew up in a family that has a habit of growing a lot of our own food for generations, as well as fishing and diving. We were strictly blue collar, but anybody in my country has always been able to go diving or fishing in the sea for crab, lobster, shellfish, fish like kingfish, etc. You just have to stay within the legal size and catch limits and no entering prohibited areas (largely breeding grounds/sanctuaries).
My god, everything looked absolutely gorgeous. Also, Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte literally means Black Forest Cherry cake. Awesome to see another trip vid; thanks, Jimmy!
14:00 Since it's called black forest, it's probably their version of a Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte (Black forest cherry pie). Thought it looked like an apple at first, but now that i wrote this comment i just realised that it's supposed to look like a cherry lol
Jimmy has lost all credibility on seeing no buffet pizza options and not immediately walking out. There should also have been some sort of organized protest right outside the restaurant demanding pizza be added to the menu because it is after all, the food of the Gods.
I'm glad that you mentioned the price without the champagne and caviar, because I am not a big fan of either, since I don't drink. It seems like an incredible value for what you pay. Thank you for sharing this location. The architecture was gorgeous!!!
Hey, walked past you in Asakusa a few moments ago. Didn’t know want to bother you ‘cause you looked busy filming (turned out you were streaming so good call on my part lol) but I watched a ton of your videos in Japan leading up to my arrival so actually seeing you there was super surreal. Hope you’re having a good time
1:08 "Surprisingly, there weren't that many people" My brudda, the buffet cost $130. Of course not everyone will be able to afford it, hence why it's not full.
Traditionally, Black Forest cakes which come from Germany they're called _Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte_ are filled with cherry (from the German black forest).
Never used Mondly but I’ll check it out. I’ve always found it fascinating that most Americans don’t bother to learn another language unless it’s in their heritage- I can’t imagine going into another country and not at least having a sense of their language. I’m almost 30 & I am super sheltered- just another reminder to grow up and grow out :)
Jimmy, Sunjin is going to see this video and be super jealous. And maybe think about some sort of revenge upon you sir! :D Everything looked awesome actually, this is one of the best buffets/line ups of food I've seen in a while from Korea. Even those $100+ buffets you go to don't look quite as good as this does.
Hey Jimmy, once again a great video. The dessert "Black Forest" could allude to the German Black Forest cake. It's a cake with morello cherries and dark chocolate and cocoa. So cherry jam would ring most true
Wow, that hotel does have the nicest design! Not in an overdone flashy way, but in a tasteful classy way. Also, this buffet did look like the best so far. It seems you're becoming quite the connoisseur...I think all the different comparisons in the quality of the establishments you've visited have evolved the discernment in your taste/ palate.
Hi jimmy, I do like to watch your channel from Paris. I want to help you know that champagne needs to be drunk in a vine glass. So the perfume and fragrance will be optimum. For us french it’s very shocking to see that kind of glass used for serving champagne especially in a nice place such as this jeju place 😅. Champagne is a good vine first …then you add the sparkling process…If you could relay my message to this place, I would be very grateful. Thank you and again I like your youtube channel 😊 !
I thoroughly enjoyed your "Rice Cake Soup" age math.😅 When we were younger it was so simple and easy. Why do we complicate things as we grow up? We should stay silly and full of wonderment. Adulting is overrated. We lose the appreciation and joy for the miraculous little things life has to offer.
Caviar is overrated. It's decent enough to eat, but it's now "wow". The only reason why caviar is so highly regarded is because of the price. The same goes for truffles.
Greetings from Germany. I just wanted to say, if that Black Forest Apple dessert is made based off of our Schwarzwald (Black Forest) then it had Cherry jam, cream and chocolate. That's the usual way it is made here. Just my thoughts on that.
Wow 10 minutes in and I really feel like this place has one of the best food for a buffet! Only thing is that if I were there, I would feel so frustrated because I can't eat that much but I would want to try everything!! I wish buffet restaurants have a cheaper option for smaller eaters like me so that we can still have access to the variety!!
JW Marriott Jeju, best hotel in Korea? Better than The Shilla? The 갈비찜 looked fantastic! And you brought back sweet dreams/nightmares of my Korean experience: many seem to understand English but refuse to speak it.
My wife and I are going to Korea in 2 weeks; I wonder if you’d like to be our ultimate tour guide haha. Anyway been binge-watching your videos from 2 weeks ago. Quality channel you got here. Keep up the good work!
Expensive buffet videos are nice, but I would like to see more of "cheap/great value buffets/restaurants" or something like "4* rated restaurants with budget of 10dollars".
