Mabuhay! 안녕하세요! Ako si Jinyong!
Last time, my Korean friends tried a famous Filipino breakfast food: Tocino. And I was really happy to see my friends enjoy eating Tocino!
So this time, I brought Tocino’s friend, Longganisa, to my friend! Of course I didn’t let my friends try only Longganisa sausage but with garlic fried rice(sinangag) and egg(itlog) too! One funny thing is, after filming video with my friends, I just started to wonder why there’s no garlic fried rice in Korea even though Koreans also love to eat garlic almost every time! Anyway, what do my Korean friends think about Longsilog? If you wanna know how my friends react to Longganisa, let’s go and find out together in my video!
Oh! Please don’t forget to follow my Facebook and Instagram!

I’m a Korean who really loves the Philippines 🙂
And that’s the reason why I started to learn TAGALOG!
Though I’m really not good at speaking Tagalog now, I would like to speak really fluently like a native speaker someday!
I made this channel to introduce Filipino culture to all the foreigners including my Korean friends. (and Korean culture to Filipino as well!)
I really hope people know Philippines more and more by watching my videos!

Glad that they liked it! We do eat heavy breakfast. We believe that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Plus, Filipinos love rice. We eat rice three times a day sometimes four. Lol. Your estimated price for Longsilog is true for restaurants but if you eat it in Karinderya (small eatery), the cheapest amount can amount to 25 pesos or 430 won. I laughed when they said that it doesn't look appetizing. I bet if they go to Palengke (same as Korea's traditional market), they won't even think to eat longganisa. In Palengke, they hang long pieces of longganisa. It looks like soondae but red in color. Another good video! Thumbs up! Can't wait for the next! :)

Most Filipinos eat heavy bfast as this shoots up our glucose level after hours of fasting (while sleeping). Glucose serves as the main energy source of our body. As the saying goes , “Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a beggar”. We need the most energy at the beginning of the day, and the least energy at the end.😊

red color usually in Filipinos dishes were not only color for spicy flavor but also for sweet as we have sugar crane plantation in our country, sweet, spicy and sour flavor were always in our dishes variations. Fact: Native and Authentic Longganisa consist of many spices (pepper, garlic, onion etc) and meat which packed with a Sausage Casing (also called as Pig's intestine) And as Oppa Jinyong said, there are variation of "Silog" dishes which are popular breakfast ====Dish + Si + Log==== - Si = Sinangag (Fried Rice) - Log = itlog (Egg, Fried Egg) **LongSiLog Long = Longganisa **TapSiLog Tap = Tapa **TociLog Toci = Tocino **HotSiLog Hot = Hotdog etc ^^

@Oppa Jinyong This is nice! I like how they appreciated longganisa. I suggest you let them try crispy pata, pork/chicken adobo, bulalo and sisig in your next videos. :) Filipinos generally eat heavy breakfast, usually including rice, to provide them energy to start the day. This cultural practice can be traced back to the pre-colonization and more to the colonization era in the Philippines where majority of the Filipinos are working in the rice fields. They eat heavy meals very early (at dawn most of the time) to be able to last the entire morning plowing the fields and planting rice and other crops before their wives and/or children bring them their lunch at noon.

There are two main types of longganisa. Longganisa de Recado tends to be garlicky savory while Longganisa Jamonado tends to be a sweeter version. Examples of Longganisa de Recados are varities from Lucban, Vigan, Alaminos & Tugegarao. Examples of Longganisa Jamonado are the ones from Pampangga & Bacolod. Cebu longganisa is a combination of both types. My family’s version is savory with strong garlic & oregano flavour and we simply call it chorizo instead of longganisa. Longganisa like most grilled or fried viands are mostly served with garlic fried rice with sides of sunny-side eggs & atsara (pickled green papaya, carrots & ginger) or with green mango, tomatoes & salted egg salad.

Pinoys love heavy breakfast. Longganisa dipped in vinegar is one way to go. You did good in adding garlic fried rice and egg, legit pinoy style breakfast. Try pork sisig next time or any variety of sinigang (meat or fish). Thumbs up for you oppa!

The three popular Silog here in Philippines are Longsilog (pork sausage), Tocilog (sweet marinated pork) and Tapsilog (beef). The best longanisa is garlic longnisa or comes from province of Vigan and Quezon.

Thank you for introducing Filipino food to your friends. And i wanna say thanks to them for eating our food well. We believe that the heaviest meal of the day should be breakfast to start the day with energy that's why our usual breakfast is either fried rice or pan de sal (bread). And dinner should be as light as possible since there's nothing much else to do to burn the calories. It's interesting you told them about "silog". Si - sinangag (garlic fried rice) Log - itlog (egg) We usually combine them wIth any meat or fish and kinda add the name to ___silog. Like if it's tocino+fried rice+egg, then it's TOSILOG If it's with longganisa =longsilog We also have Tapsilog where we add in Tapa, which is marinated beef, my fave breakfast.

Dudeeee I *LOVE* Longganisa. If I have some free time, I go to Jollibee in the morning to buy that. And the guy who slid down the slide while eating cracked me up. I’m glad they enjoyed this filipino dish. ❤️

We have this rule In the family when we eat. Eat like a King that is breakfast meaning eat alot. Eat like a commoner meaning eat like not heavy but not light either. Then at night eat like a slave or dont eat or eat lightly because you gonna sleep anyways. Most important meal is breakfast because you start Your day and you need energy

Best way to cook Longanisa, First put 1 1/2 cup water in medium pan, now add 1/4 cup of oil in pan with water, Put longanisa in the pan let it boil. After water is almost desolved the Oil will be the remainder, Now before water dissolves lower heat to medium and cut longanisa in half, The Oil that was left after the water the boil will be the frying material, cook longanisa both sides and make sure it's fried nicely on the outside while the inside still remains moist even when cut in half, Enjoy

This makes me want to have longganisa for breakfast later! Longsilog plus hot coffee equals bliss! Actually, it is good to eat heavy breakfast because we need energy to last us the whole day. When you eat heavy breakfast, you do not immediately get hungry, so you can just eat less lunch and little to no dinner at all.

We Filipinos really eat so much for breakfast, we also have different types of "Silog" food. But we also love to have something like soup-ish type of food when its the cold month/season time of the year example: Champorado, Sopas, Bilo-bilo and etc. ♡♡
