Mabuhay! 안녕하세요! Ako si Jinyong!
Merry Christmas!! It’s Christmas already!! It's definitely the biggest holiday in the Philippines right? Christmas in Korea is not as big as Christmas in the Philippines, so I’ve been thinking how I can let my friends experience Filipino Christmas even in Korea. Instead of going to the Philippines altogether, I brought some Filipino Christmas foods for my friends to try! What’s your favorite Christmas dish? Lechon? Filipino-style spaghetti? Of course there are many choices, this time I brought two of Filipino Christmas delicacies: Bibingka and Puto Bumbong!
Let’s find out how Christmas in Korea is different from that in the Philippines and how my Korean friends react to Bibingka and Puto Bumbong! Tara!
Oh! Please don’t forget to follow my Facebook and Instagram!

I’m a Korean who really loves the Philippines 🙂
And that’s the reason why I started to learn TAGALOG!
Though I’m really not good at speaking Tagalog now, I would like to speak really fluently like a native speaker someday!
I made this channel to introduce Filipino culture to all the foreigners including my Korean friends. (and Korean culture to Filipino as well!)
I really hope people know Philippines more and more by watching my videos!

Merry Christmas to you all!! I really wish you all Merry Christmas! Thank you always for watching and for your support! I and my friends wanna say that we're really encouraged and motivated every time we see heart-warming comments from all of you! I myself also didn't expect to get so much support like this when I just started my RU-vid channel around 2 months ago! I'm really grateful that I can feel the love from you all! And to talk about Puto Bumbong in the video, I think it seems to be Suman not Puto Bumbong...sorry my bad! As you can see in the video, I know Puto Bumbong usually in purple because of "pirurutong" but since I'm in Korea I thought that is a variety of Puto Bumbong which is white(green). But after I see many people saying it looks more like Suman, I started to notice that it is😭😭I'm really sorry for errors I made in the video. After I start to introduce Filipino food/culture to my friends, I've been always trying my best to study about the food and the culture in advance because I really want my friends know about the Philippines correctly! But I'm really sad that I still make some mistakes in the video! I promise that I'll always try my best not to make any errors again. Sorry one more time for people who feel bad after watching this video! I'll find another day to bring proper "Puto Bumbong" to my friends and let them try! Thank you one more for your support though I'm the guy who makes a lot of mistakes😭😭 but thank you so much for your support always!! Merry Christmas guys!! Maligayang pasko sa inyong lahat!! Love you all!!

Simbang Gabi is also called Misa de Gallo (Rooster's Mass) which I think is more accurate because "Simbang Gabi" were and still are originally held before sunrise or during the roosters woke you up with their noise. This is to accomodate farmers at that time who wake up too early for work if I am not mistaken. In Pampanga, particularly in Angeles City, Bibingka and Puto Bumbong is served with Chocoláte Batirol, a local chocolate with peanuts.

5:00 is that really *puto bumbong?* Coz it looks like *Suman* *Puto Bumbong* is purple and partnered with coconut. And I don’t like it. If that’s *suman* then I’ll love it. And also I love *Bibingka* I wonder how these foods arrived to Korea 🇰🇷 because they are easily get spoiled specially if they will get moist, it make your stomach ramble inside. Hahaha.. I can’t explain myself in English. Hahaha

Base on his previous videos. He buys filipino foods at the little filipino market located near a catholic church. 😄 -I was about to say "Filipino Catholic Church" but that would be a lot of "Filipino" in one sentence. Haha

Ekim Games ah okay. That make sense. But I guess the *puto bumbong* is not really the *puto bumbong* coz as viewer only, it looks like *suman* to me.

There is about 30% of South Korea practicing a form of Christian faith which is small but, I was surprised that none of the people appearing here knew what the day and celebration is for, even if they're not Christians. It isn't a secret what it represents. I do enjoy watching people from different cultures trying out foods from other places. It is entertaining to watch their reactions. I haven't found a Filipino dessert that I don't like!

Bibingka is made of rice, it was soak in the water overnight then grind until it reach the consistency needed for bibingka. Add the coconut milk and sugar to taste but it will be more flavorful add a pinch of salt to balance the taste. It is better cooked in the charcoal on top and under heat to cook it evenly. While cooking you can add salted egg on top and serve while it's hot, you can also put butter on top of it.

FYI, puto bumbong is made from purple colored rice from a rice variety called "pirurutong" steamed in a small bamboo tube. topped with margarine/butter, grated coconut and sugar/panutsa(raw sugar in coconut shell) wrapped in banana leaf.
