Mabuhay! 안녕하세요! Ako si Jinyong!
Do you guys like Pancit canton? If so, which flavor do you like the most? Koreans are actually big fans of eating instant noodles! Thus it’s not a surprise to see Koreans who love noodles more than rice. Filipinos love instant noodles as much as Koreans do right?! so today in the video, I’ll introduce one of the most popular Filipino instant noodles: Pancit Canton! I brought 3 of my favorite flavors of Pancit canton: Chili-mansi,Sweet and spicy, and Extra Hot Chili. Will my friends like Pancit canton? Which flavor will my friends like the most among those 3 flavors?! Let’s find out together!
Oh! Please don’t forget to follow my Facebook and Instagram!

I’m a Korean who really loves the Philippines 🙂
And that’s the reason why I started to learn TAGALOG!
Though I’m really not good at speaking Tagalog now, I would like to speak really fluently like a native speaker someday!
I made this channel to introduce Filipino culture to all the foreigners including my Korean friends. (and Korean culture to Filipino as well!)
I really hope people know Philippines more and more by watching my videos!

Is Extra hot chili flavor spicy for Filipinos?! or is it only my friends who don't think it's not that spicy 🤣🤣 it's bit spicy for me though!

maybe because koreans have more tolerance for spicy food than filipinos that's why they say it's not spicy at all. and 축하해 for this wonderful video.

Here's my little theory: Comparing the Filipino spiciness to korean spiciness is hilarious. Imagine eating it in a cold weather it must be nothing. But eating it in Philippines having a hot or humid surroundings makes it even more intense; humid surrounding causes a person to sweat plus eating spicy food make it even more harder to swallow. Thats why Philippine noodles doesn't appear to be that much spicy to other people living outside a humid country.
@HullsColby
@HullsColby 4 года назад
Then how would you explain american spicy to korean spicy? Just curious.
@HarveySarmiento1111
@HarveySarmiento1111 3 года назад
@@HullsColby well based on what I have searched, America has an average temperature of 11.49 degrees Celsius excluding Hawaii and Alaska, meanwhile In the Philippines the average temperature is 28 degrees Celsius which is a whole different story. I dont know but I myself feel the cold when the temperature drops 23 degrees Celsius and thats a great time eating spicy food. Going back to your question, ermm I don't really know but i were to say something, eating spicy food in a 11 degrees Celsius temp. would be a perfect time. 😅
@HullsColby
@HullsColby 3 года назад
@@HarveySarmiento1111 Wow, thanks for answering. Most Americans say that American spicy is like baby spicy, I was really curious on what you'd say because I sometimes hear complains about the weak spiciness on American fast-food places whether they order a spicy version or just a spicy dish. This is a good response, thank you.

Well, it's understandable that most of your friends who tried Pancit Canton didn't find it spicy at all considering that most Korean instant noodles are even more spicier. If I'm correct, the reason for that extra spiciness is for the cold winter condition outside but as a Filipino who tasted one of them, I couldn't understand why because when I tried one for lunch in a normal warm day, it burned my tongue, destroyed my taste buds, and made me tear up 😂😛 Maybe if I tried that in a cold situation, it would probably taste different but honestly, it's always hot in here on the Philippines so there's not that many chances for that unless a typhoon slams into my area, then we're talking because those days are what you will consider as 'cold'.

Hi Jinyong,Filipino palate is much more inclined to sweet to mild spicy,hence The Lucky Me Pancit Canton Extra Hot turns to be a not so spicy one for your friends because the Korean Version of Spicy noodles is somehow strong,and much more the after taste,but over all its good to hear they had somehow likened the famed Pancit Canton in the Philippines,and as what others had suggested why nit had them tried Lucky Me Bulalo and La Paz Batchoy inquire in some Filipino stores in your area since its winter in Korea its a perfect compliment to a hot bread and coffee....more power and see you in your next post!

I suggest you to mix calamansi and sweet&spicy flavor and it's so yummy. btw you better sprinkle it a little sugar and squeeze a half calamansi on it you can also add some cheese too(sliced cheese into a small square) pair it with bread or rice (or both) if you think it is too salty

Maybe because Koreans are much more accustomed with spicy foods than filipino's that's why the spiciness level is different from both countries, in Philippines the extra hot chili is enough to make someone go red, hope I helped 😹😹😹

The best way to cook that extra hot chili is you boil the water, add the noodles, then when you drain it, don't drain all the water, leave a little bit, say 2-3 tbsp.. then mix the seasonings, then let sit for about a minute.. that is enough time for the noodles to absorb that remaining liquid..

I think you have to mix well the ingredients so there's no sticky powder spice will be caught on the noodles. That's why they said it is a bit salty. Maybe put a little boiled water to the mixture of powder seasoning, soy sauce and oil to mix it very well to the noodles evenly.
