I find I’ve shelved the Force & gone back to using Gadget again. I might have to combine after watching your video. 👍🏻👍🏻

You’re 'hack' is most useful. I'm longing for different scale modes on different tracks as well as microtuning. Meanwhile, as a new enForcer, I'm trying to shift the balance between watching your excellent videos and actually making tunes ! Hands off the saddle time...

Great video thanks. I followed the instructions and it connected fine. I used a Roland um-one - a bit cheaper than the iRig so another option for anyone reading. I'm hoping I can somehow save these as templates so I dont have to go thru the setup every time.

great video and very clear explanation. you are 100% correct, best $20 I spent on an app. everything sounds brilliant. I have an older 6th gen ipad, and ran 15+ tracks on gadget w/o any issues. I also have some of the heavier korg soft synths like monopoly, odyssey etc which cost $15 when all korg's app's are on sale. I never used gadget with my force as think working with gadget's sequencer on the 10+ inch ipad screen is easier for me (I think the sequencer in gadget is less powerful but more hands on) and I also have a korg nanokey studio as a controller for it. but for someone who has a force, owns an decent ipad and want to add another capable synth to use via external midi this is a no brainer.
@MaxipokMusic
@MaxipokMusic 2 года назад
Thank you! Yes I think that’s the same older iPad I had, and Gadget worked perfectly on it. I missed the opportunity to get those other Korg synths when they were cheap, but I’ll definitely grab them next time. Thanks for watching 🙂

you can record the performance in gadget , then export it as a ableton project , then if you have the ssh hack , transfer the resultant live project back into the force .

I have it running on the 2017 iPad Pro with the headphone socket. 25 tracks running & ifx on half of those with no issues. You also get it on ur iPhone for free if u have both the iPhone & iPad. I’ve had it since Gadget 1 first came out & I love doodling on it. I’ve often thought would my APC40mk2 pair well with it. This video has me wanting to dig it out lol. Great video.I would assume saving the project involve saving on both Gadget and Force and duplicating naming on both to recall later if Audio is not imported from Gadget.
@MaxipokMusic
@MaxipokMusic 2 года назад
Thanks! Yep, absolutely. I just give both the same name so I don’t get confused. Gadget remembers all the midi settings so you don’t have to re-configure the project when it loads, which is nice.

Could you explain how to connect the midi irig that the force doesn't see for me?
@MaxipokMusic
@MaxipokMusic Год назад
If you have the iRig connected to Force with a midi cable it won’t show up, it’s just the ‘Force’ output in the midi port section. That’s the Force’s 5 pin output, as long as sync / track is enabled there it should work.

Your video made me have to try out the gadget! Loving it so far, I really like all the synths. I noticed you used the usb midi adapter, did you try to get the midi over USB working from the force? I'm trying to get that to work now and can't see why it wouldn't work since they both accept midi over USB. I assume it doesn't work or else you would have just used a USB cable instead of the midi adapter
@MaxipokMusic
@MaxipokMusic 2 года назад
Excellent, I’m glad you are enjoying it! Nope, I couldn’t get the iPad to work plugged directly into the Force. Tried a few different cables, and the Force just says ‘unsupported device’. No idea why, but I get the feeling it’s an iOS issue, not Akai (no proof of that though). Definitely annoying!

On the Mpc and I’m assuming same goes for the force you can go into program edit whilst on a midi track and configure and name the controls accordingly for that gadget you can then name and save the midi track for later or duplicate use.

Hi, thanks for this video. Did you try if .als file exported from Gadget works on Force? Anyway, I was also little bit disappointed that Force is not supporting audio over USB or - at least - standard usb MIDI with ipad (Roland UM-ONE mk2 solved this for me). Cheers.
@MaxipokMusic
@MaxipokMusic 2 года назад
I haven’t tried that yet, but if they are fully Ableton-compatible als files it should work. Yeah no audio over usb is such a drag, in this day and age every device should be able to do that 😐

@progwaver
@progwaver 2 года назад
@@MaxipokMusic hehe, dont worry no problem, I checked the Korg site yesterday as well, its not exactly named but its also not say that its not work... From the power the new Air should be powerful enough, on the picture from the gadget software the ipad pro and also the much smaller 10" one are seen, so I think should be the Air..

Doesn’t the force have USB Audio and USB Midi? Wouldn’t it work to connect the iPad USB to USB on the Force and have everything cross that one cable? Also, What’s your opinion on using a Roland-555 in the same configuration (USB audio from the Force into the 555)? Seems like it’d be a great combo for live work.
@MaxipokMusic
@MaxipokMusic 2 года назад
The Force can accept a usb audio interface with up to 32 inputs, but it doesn’t have audio over usb, so you can’t just plug the iPad in unfortunately - it’s a shame as that would be amazing, a really nice clean setup. I’m sorry I don’t know the Roland 555, so can’t comment on that. I have used the Roland MC101 with MPC, and that worked brilliantly well.

@MaxipokMusic

I’m pretty sure the midi function for the Force and MPCs is the same, you’d just be creating midi programs rather than midi tracks. I had the MPC Live mk1 a few years ago and I did a similar thing using the Roland MC101 as a module and it worked perfectly. The only thing that stops me saying it’ll definitely work is I haven’t used an MPC in a few years and I don’t know what’s happened with firmware updates etc! 🙂
