GREAT VIDEO. I too had some steering issues with my new Kraton and new S9120BL servo. At first I thought it was my servo itself, and it still may be but I also noticed that arrma stripped out the passenger side, front, upper knuckle/hub nut that was allowing the ball joint to move freely. Thanks ARRMA, lol. Then I noticed my servo saver was waaaaaay to loose. It was a perfect scenario for a perfect disaster on a perfectly new Kraton 8s BLX exb. lol. Thanks for the informative video, it was very helpful.
Wish I had a K8S so I could join in on all the mods and fun. I'll just have to keep enjoying it through the eyes of the "BAM". Great advice for the Arrma world as always Ed.👍💪👊
Damn man picked up a used KRATON 8s for a killer deal no problems what’s so ever other then I notice I head like No travel left turn and behold I look at that guide and noticed it was way for the left gonna adjust this thanks for the video
Great information. Don't get me wrong I like the 8s alot. But Arma didn't install my servo saver correctly. Its literally 180°off. Meaning the turnbuckle is attached to the bottom. Glad I caught it before I started running it. Thanks to your video I checked the orientation of my saver.
Thanks for the insight, the trick with the nub is very useful, I'm having loads of trouble getting my servo to sit top dead center when it's in the neutral position, the spline is limited due to the way the servo saver works, and if go one way it's too far to the right the other too far to the left. I have ordered a new servo tray and most likely order a new servo soon, hopefully I don't have the same issue. I've had to bind the receiver to my other radio to use the sub trim just to get the steering to work remotely good enough.
sorry to be so off topic but does any of you know of a tool to log back into an Instagram account?? I stupidly lost my password. I would appreciate any tricks you can give me!
@Nasir Kyng thanks for your reply. I got to the site through google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff atm. I see it takes a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
Thanks for taking your time and making these videos. It’s much appreciated and lots of good info 👌🏻👌🏻bonus question. What size are those carbon pipe in mm you have put on your K8?
Been watching your channel for sometime I'm very much a newbie and I have to say you are very informational and very easy to understand with your with your detail explanations and down to earth reviews! Do you recommend a receiver that I can use multiple rc's
@@bicketybamRC Thanks I guess I'm somewhat like you I'm in my late 50's I just like the hobby I enjoy it very much between the cars and my drones it's hard to pick what I want to play with 😆 still a kid a heart??? Also I want to say Your very down to earth! I like that! Stay young in your mind and heart even if our bodies may not reflect it 🤣
That's great to know Ed 🤗. My bigger tray and Hobbystar special just arrived 👀. Forgot to check waterproof status and turns out it's not 😱🤣🤣. Hey I wanted to ask if you had to change the servo saver screw for a shorter one 🤔. Not sure yours is any taller than stock, but if so you might have issues tightening your saver without going too deep into the servo itself. 🍻😎💪👊👊
My k8s turns fine to the left, but when I turn it to the right it seems to steer straight ahead instead of actually turning wheels to the right like it should. What's that?
I read on the forum that you added a spektrum S9020 ultra height torque servo but you needed a smaller screw for the servo saver. Do you have a part number for the screw guy used? And there were not other modifications for this servo?
I simply cut down the screw a little bit. If you remove the stock screw and measure it (or look up the dimensions in the parts diagram), just get one about 2mm shorter and you will be fine. As far as other modifications, you need the Arrma 1/5 scale servo tray to fit this servo.
A Spektrum S9020 until it stripped out. I'm now using a Savox which is nowhere near as good. I'm going to replace the gears in the Spektrum and go back to that.
I've tried 3 different servos. First was the incredibly expensive 1/5 scale Spektrum. It stripped gears so I went with the 1/5 scale Savox. That one was way too weak. I finally got the Primal RC servo that they use in the Raminator. It's been rock solid so far and much better than stock. And it's relatively cheap.
hey man! interesting you are talking about the exact same piece I am having an issue with. Please look at the below image i am going to post. How in the heck does the circled screw screw into the hole? that little screw doesn't get tight at all, just spins...isn't something stripped or am I missing a nut or clip or something that hold that screw in place? thanks for your assistance! @@thorsrc4170 if you installed a larger servo than stock, like the S9020, then the position of the servo arm gets changed. That's a fact. And then you need to somehow compensate for that. It's not like I started this hobby yesterday. I had the same issue when installing the S9020 in my Super Rock Rey.
bicketybam you can compensate buy turning servo saver on servo spine . Yours is upright. Mine is a little to the left like on stock servo. And i did not adjust anything and its spot on . Just saying 😊
@@thorsrc4170 that's one way to compensate. The other is to adjust the arm like I did. In my opinion the servo saver (or horn) should be centered. Otherwise travel will be unequal left and right. But you do whatever works for you 😎
