Here's part two of my krautrock record collection:

Here's a list of the albums I show in the video. I think they are in the same order as shown. As mentioned in the video, I would love to talk about all these albums/bands, but that would take forever! Anyway, for those who are not familiar with the krautrock scene and the music, I can strongly recommend all the albums I show. That is if you are into experimental music :-)

Excellent Krautrock collection I’m super jealous of it😎. I’ve been dabbling in this genre as of late and it’s so incredible! Hey John! Thanks for watching and commenting. I agree, the krautrock era was nothing less than incredible. So many bands, so much willingness to expand barriers and experiment. It's a "genre" I'll never get tired of. Since this video I have added more albums to my krautrock collection. Thanks for watching my videos! I really appreciate it. The musicians who lead me here were Frank Zappa , Jimi Hendrix and David Bowie . My favorite krautrock is CAN and Amon duul ll . I like Brazilian Orquestra Voadora too . They are awesome .

Very nice collection. I am sure it has grown in the last 7 years. A friend here in Toronto has a small record shop and recently picked up a very rare 1972 private pressing of German psychedelic record by a group called Oratorium He played the album and everyone present was impressed with their sound. He put a price of $1200 on his copy, out of range for most, so three of us present ordered reissues from Europe that same day. Great album.

Hey Dan and thanks for watching! Yeah, my German progressive/psychedelic record collection is constantly growing. Such a vast universe of fantastic experimental music :-) Wow! Oratorium is very rare indeed, but 1200 is too much for most of us. I'd definitely go for the reissue as well. Take care!

That was a great presentation! I believe there are some Krautrock grails that you mast have as: Gift / Towmorrow / Thirsty Moon / Weed / Gomorrha / Karthago / Rufus Zuphall / Made in Germany / Sitting Bull / Lucifer's Friend / Wucan / Out Of Focus / Armaggedon / Cravinkel and more to find.

Still my collection lacks important bands and releases. It’s an ongoing quest to discover the complete German rock scene from the 70’s. Definitely a labour of love, but very costly 😊

Wow I'm jealous. You definitely have the Jazz Rock/Psych Rock half of Krautrock covered in a major way! The collection is quite light on the electronic side, but I assume that's not your preference.

That is one SEXY krautrock collection!! Funny story. One time I really needed money so I sold a good portion of my vinyl collection, years later I saw my Guru Guru self titled LP on display at the store i sold them at and was like... I want that back. So I bought it again hahhaha

Hi Steffen! Thanks for watching and commenting. German cosmic spacerock has been a long time favourite of mine, just as it is for you. So many great bands and albums from that era. I never get tired of it. Tetragon Nature is an Amber Soundroom reissue, but of high quality. The originals are so so expensive I couldn’t afford one. I’m looking for Triptykons Cluster, the preceedor to Tetragon. Excellent stuff! I will watch your latest videos this weekend. Take care my friend! Nico

Really nice collectiom which even in Germany would be hard to find. What I was missing, maybe I didn't reckon it, was in my opinion the best Jane album "Jane Live", and one of the Most popular Bands at that time "Grobschnitt", also with their live album.

wow, great showing. I agree with Richie, would have liked to hear about some of these....even if you read off of a paper....but understand the time it would take. I am just getting into this, and need some "must haves".....maybe you can do another version for that. thanks, steve

Quite an extensive collection. I would have preferred you talk about each album even if it would have taken four videos to get through. I really trust your opinion and I would have liked to hear your thoughts on each.

Even the last one, Zarathustra - i like very much. But your collection show important gaps: 2066 and then - a killer must have Also I missed the second Eloy - Inside - their best to my ears. The first one is a good, but not necessary heavy blues rock lp, but Inside is a space rock monster. Try to get the initial version with the bag opens from the inside. It sounds much better and is still rather cheap. The reissues misses the highs. You are not into Kin Ping Meh? Try the first one... There is off course a lot more, but you will find out, cause lot of it is available here at YT. Cheers Manus

After this video was shot about a year ago I have managed to track down copies of 2066 and then and Eloy Inside. My favourite Ely album is Floating. Also Kin Ping Meh's No2, Necronomicon and many others are in my collection by now. Check my updates to see how my krautrock collection developes. "Sweet Smoke" were a psychedelic jazz-rock band formed in Brooklyn, New York in 1967 and "Omega" is a Hungarian rock band formed in 1962.

The westners who like german rock call it krautrock and love the music . It is not meant to insulting to germans . It is just the word that has somehow stayed with us and has become part or the english language .

Hi Dave! Indeed, the term could be considered offending by some, but as you say, it's just a word that has stuck and has become a general term for all German experimental rock music from the late 60's to the late 70's. And oh boy, we love that music!

Pretty offensive label really, be that as it may ‘krautrock’ encompasses possibly my favourite ‘genre’ of music. Incredible mind blowing shit that isn’t easy to categorise, other than experimental or psychedelic rock and electronic

Get ‘em Alfonso! Yeah, I agree that it is anoffensive label, but then again you describe pretty well why this «genre» is still being labeled by many, including myself, as krautrock. As you say, with it’s wide variety and blending of genres which are hard to categorize by themselves, it’s easier to stick to that old term «krautrock», which we all know what means. Right on, there is so much mindblowing music which was created during a few years it’s almost surreal! I have been exploring the German music scene from that era for years now, and I’m nowhere near being done. It’s astonishing how much there is to explore😊. Thanks for watching and take care!
