A couple of notes - Mind Meld used to be better, back when "leave the field" effects could activate in the Extra Deck, since it would trigger any Krawler, Link or Main Deck. Also, Deus X-Krawler is in fact a FLIP monster, despite not having a FLIP effect, the justification being because its negation is contingent on being flipped face-up, it just doesn't activate. As such, the synergy with Tarotrei is alive and well.
Honest question. Are you saying this as a Uk/JP player? Your Mind Meld statement sounds like horse shit to me, since it never worked that way... For me.
@@matthewdodd1262 it worked that way before the april 2020 rules revision. People thought that only applied to the OCG but it apparently applied to the TCG as well, it just wasn't communicated very well and there needed to be confirmation way after the fact
Worm Bait should have been mentioned as tech. It creates 2 Earth Insect Tokens that can go straight into the 2 lesser Link-Krawlers...and you don't run Lvl 3 or 4 monsters in Krawlers normally so there is no downside
For mind meld, it was orignially used to bounce your own krawler so it leaves the field by an opponent card effect. The problem is that, now if a monster is bounce in the extra deck, it cannot activate it's effect, so it doesn't work anymore with the link krawler's effect :(
I really think this archetype should have had one more blanket effect on each of the level 2s, where if they would leave the field by card effect while face-down, they can flip up instead. Give good protection, discourage face-down removal, ensure their flip effects actually go off, and give us the same PTSD that we have when attacking into a face-down S/T.
The amount of funny combos you can enable with Girsu, the Orcust Mekk-Knight and now Soma makes Krawler so much better now that it's hard to compare them with their original state, even despite the unfavorable rule change regarding extra deck monsters that leave the field. My favorite tech for the deck has been the TCG exclusive Sol and Luna, which can be a disruption while modifying the positions of our Krawlers.
I love Krawlers. Built the Solo Mode deck they give you in MD that features Tindangles and Subterrors. Absolutely love it. Oddly enough I think I've won more games off of Tindangle Acute Cerberus than anything else. Can't wait for Soma to come to MD though. That card is just way too good
Quick note : Lib does not require a World Legacy monster in grave to summon, she just requires a World Legacy CARD. There's actually a 1-card combo the deck has with Girsu, the Orcust Mekk-Knight. Summon Girsu, sending World Legacy Mind Meld, giving yourself and your opponent a token. Link off the token and Girsu into Lib. Banish Mind Meld to set Deus X Krawler to Lib's arrow, then use Lib's effect to set World Legacy Pawns from deck. For 1-card, you have Deus X ready to rock.
I run Gizmek Kaku in my krawler deck specifically due to Deus's effect. Nice free summon since there's a good chance you'll already have an x-krawler in your extra zone.
I love using Crusadia Krawler, its pretty beefy plus it can still activate its search if it was destroyed by a duster as long at it was summoned into a linked zone
(0:00) First thing that comes to mind, Paleozoic on account of the level 2 mon's. (3:09) Building on that, we start with a Krawler that (flip effect) can destroy one of your own set Paleo's to have it ready in the grave. (3:41) Setting Paleo's too slow for ya? Send 'em straight from the deck to the GY, no questions asked. If you're otherwise playing with a fusion spell that lets you use materials in the GY, this sets up that as well. (4:45) That's an archetypal pun. I do agree though, by the time the opponent catches up with our other support cards we'll have already _RANvier_ them over. (5:15) THAT is an effect for either Scrap archetype synergy or (with some weird setup) blowing Geartown of the Ancient Gears. (12:45) It's all fun and games 'til Toon World grow 8 legs and two links. (random) Y'know... if you're really itchin' to kick Jade Insect Whistle in the pants for some very weird reason, you could add a copy or two of Krawler Spine in your deck. You DO get to pick which insect mon' you dredge up, so you can surprise your opponent with a free pop. (19:06) AND WOULDN'T YA KNOW, A TRAP MONSTER! (21:26) Strange place to find Labyrinth Wall support but aight. This notably lets you bring up Labyrinth Wall, Guardian of the Labyrinth, Wall Shadow (-IF it has been properly summoned previously), Labyrinth Heavy Tank and Shadow Ghoul of the Labyrynth. Btw, gotta respect Labyrinth Heavy Tank for respecting the old school rules- it's a level 7 that can be normal summoned without a tribute. For those wondering why the heck you'd run Magical Labyrinth (the EQUIP spell required to "totally not ritual summon" Wall Shadow), it's because Wall Shadow also happens to be level 7, and Labyrinth Wall is a (level 5, sadly) normal monster that resultingly benefits from Gemini, normal, & tenyi support that would give you an extra normal summon that turn. Get your two normal summons or otherwise get Labyrinth Wall to the field, equip Magical Labyrinth, special summon Wall Shadow via Magical Labyrinth, normal summon Labyrinth Heavy Tank (which can be Uka'd, btw. 2,400/2,400). Now you're prepped for a rank 7, and for those counting that's 3 summons w/o Uka and 4 summons with. Note that Labyrinth Heavy Tank cannot attack the turn it is NORMAL summoned, so if you need it for more than a shield you'll either be going for the thunder/wind/water devils via its other effect or you'll need to s. summon it... or just wait. Also, World Legacy "World Crown", can be Transmodified into Labyrinth Heavy Tank as needed, being a level 6 and both of them being Dark attribute machines.
@@r3zaful Unless there is/are only a face-up (Lvl-2) Krawler on the field, the effect is more obstructive than the bounce of a single monster on the field...or you dumped it directly with something in your GY and use its secondary effect.
I honestly think that if World Legacy Pawns was a SOPT on each effect instead, Krawlers would be so much better...also and if they didnt nerf how Mind Meld interacted with them
I can't tell if these monsters are pure bugs or machines either way there awesome By the way Noble what's your opinion on Flip effects themselves and what card (old to new) you like and why
Mind meld works just fine. It is a huge bluff card and helps you swarm when you have a slow start while changing whatever effect your opponent was attempting to do. It’s best to not have more than one generic Krawler out on the field. Set it first turn or defend the Krawler to use the effect to swarm and get more field presence. It works like a charm if you know when to use it/bluff.
I personally also run the Trap card junk sleep to add additional ways to flip my monsters up and down as well as some generic insect support like worm food to generate link material and parasite paranoid as additional control and if I'm feeling daring as a way to summon evolve insect Queen for LOLs
Hell yeah creepy Krawler time let learn about the nervous system they are named after but I tried hard to include these in a insect cancer deck cause I need a decent insect engine
Still wondering how you've done Infinitracks, Trains, Machina, AND Heroes... but yah haven't done Ancient Gears yet. Pls... my copium tanks are running low.
Now, this is broken, I'll admit. BUT...If they had a continuous card that let them be placed face up in the S/T zone, with the once per turn effect of 'if a monster you control is flipped face-up; you can activate the effect of one krawler monster in your S/T zone as if it were flip summoned.' they'd be much more viable. Your opponent has to get rid of them, and since their effects say 'Face-up card' not 'Face-up monster', their swarm effects will activate if removed.
My favorite thing about Deus Ex is that his negate effect cannot be responded to with another monster effect because by that point he's already successfully been flipped face up
I tried using some krawler cards in a beetrooper deck but that turned out to be more of an engine of about 10 cards that uses soma as an extender and can sometimes summon Deus x krawler but that is far from the whole krawler deck strategy in itself
@@Jrpg_guy thank you for that massive information, I don't bother reading cards only when they appear on board. Hopefully understand, or be the typical Yu-Gi-Oh player on Master Duel if glows CLICK
