Kris kross music it's timeless in my opinion. Just something about the 90s, their vibe, their fashion which makes it still relevant. Thanks J.D, and Kris kross. RIP Chris Kelly.
These two were only 17 or 18 years old here. They were already legends and they seem more adult than just about all rappers and hip hop artist today. 2020
So, Kriss Kross was brilliant? According to what standards, being better than mumble rappers? Man, people's expectations are at all time lows. This engineered commercial ass industry rap group didn't even write their own shit. They were found and Jamaine took interest in them because they were seen in a mall wearing their cloth backwards. Gtfoh. Nothing brilliant about them or their ripped off sounds.
This song is pure nostalgia. It reminds me of 9th grade ‘95-96, riding around w/ my friends on the weekends. Everybody had a system & you always had it bumping!
Life was so simple in the 90s. The fashion, food, films, television shows, etc. The music especially made you “FEEL SOMETHING” and this song resonates til this very day! WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE. The Jump album was the first CD I ever had in my life and my big brother purchased it for me. TIMELESS MUSIC FROM A TIMELESS ERA! #RIPChrisKelly
I was so in love with them as a kid lol they were literally Kid N Play doubles (I was in love with them too😂)…no cussing, one light skin one dark skin, both named Chris with a dope unique sound that’s never been duplicated🖤
Young, Rich & Dangerous was their best album. I remember my dad bringing that CD back to Nigeria from the States back in 1996 and I played the hell out of it
There’s nothing like the classic 90’s feel and vibe. This song illustrates and resonates that vividly. So much better than most of the so-called hip hop music being released nowadays. Geez. 👍🏼
Funny because my dad said the 70s music was better than that rap crap from the 90s. Yet his dad told him the 50s music was better than that 70s music. It's all good based on the era you were a teen and young adult. My kids will be saying today's music is better than the music of their kids generation and so on and on......
Man I just love that kick/shaker in the beginning. I was too young, but now Im grown enough to appreciate this masterpiece. Maybe even ahead of it's time.
I don't see how talking about money and girls can really touch your soul. Very superficial, no real meaning or depth to any of the lyrics. and the sound? sounds like every other 90s rap song.
Kids today will NEVER understand the real music 🎵 🎼 🎶 I grew up on!!! I’m an 84’s baby, so 80’s 90s & early 2000s music was IT!!! 🔥 🔥 💯😜🤓❤️👏🏽🔥🎶🎼🎵 I’m here In 2023
Jermaine Dupri wrote alotta their shit tho. Respect to them cuz I rocked 'mack' in my name for years cuz I idolized them as a kid but don't forget Jermaine really had a talent for bringing these types to us.
No one was into Kriss Kross except little ass kids. Real ones were bumpin MobbDeep, Rae, The Liks, Nas, etc. No one thought these kids had lyrics. Jermaine was writing their sht. Stop with the revisionist history.
I was JUST talking about this yesterday.. People were doing that at school for like a week, but you gotta pull your pant all the way down to your knees to stand up and piss lmao..
R I P Chris... These boys were way ahead of their time, these young boys today can't even touch them. Shame this track is not played more. Who's still pumpin this classic? 2022 STAY SAFE PEOPLE 😀 😀 😀 😀
Not ahead actually, baggg shit was in in the 90’s . Shoot my shirts were 2-3Xl and pants in the size 40’s (like all my homies) and I only weighed 130lb ! I was a graffiti writer back then
Yes I actually love to see guys wearing this type of style now. I hate that skinny tight sagging look with tight shirts, why get dressed if it's getting that small tight and uncomfortable 🤷🤦
They were always respected within the hip-hop world, & they had numerous hits that crossed over to the pop charts. All 3 of their albums went Gold or Platinum. Jermine Dupri put them on almost immediately & made them the youngest duo ever to gain success, & MJ really gave them an early boost by having them on his Dangerous European Tour. In subsequent years, they've been referenced & or given props by Eminem, Dr. Dre, 2Pac, Method Man & many more within the rap community, & they influenced any & all the other little kid rappers that came after them. They always got the credit they should, but like 97% of the musicians & artists out here, they eventually just fell off.
I remember when this came out people said they wasn't feeling it . I think alot of us took artists like this and their music contributions for granted .
Man i been saying hip hop messed up and wrote these guys off as "kid rappers". Crazy, cuz this shit was just as jammin as any other G-funk joints out at that time. They just caught a bad one like most kid stars do when trying to grow and appeal to an older audience.
@Eugene Dawson Prodigy wasn't from Queens Bridge but that's what he repped. I've neither read nor seen anything about them being from anyplace else other than Atlanta. What I said still stands.
Chris was mad serious about his rhyme! I never saw how serious he really was about it. And Chris Smith was always cool with a dope rhyme himself. They gave rap all they had bro, and they was out there big even before Jay Z!!
I'm the same age as Kris Kross, these dudes had hits when we were 12. They're story doesn't get mentioned enough in hip hop.Ppl don't respect them, because of how they're viewed but they had a good 4 year run where they were killing shit.
@@kasino7132 I did!! I even played jump at my talent show with a few buddies and we all had jerseys and jeans backwards and all that!! those were the days!!!
This was track 3 and the 1st single from Kris Kross' 3rd album "Young, Rich, & Dangerous" and was the 8th song I learned by these 2 super cool dudes. This is a real 1996 party song right here.
