For more information about the Roosevelt court during WWII I recommend "The Court at War" by Cliff Sloan. They had a great ruling West Virginia Board of Education v. Barnette making the flag salute optional in schools.

If you look at the 2016 election, Trump wasn’t the conservative candidate, he was the candidate of disaffected voters-many of whom had been democrats.

@@ropeburnsrussell Exactly these conservatives. Decades of "might is right" politics and veneration of extreme wealth - it was only a matter of time before someone like Trump stepped into the suit tailor made for him by conservatives.

@@ropeburnsrussellLess than 1% of people who identified themselves as “consistently conservative” voted for Hillary Clinton in 2016. Trump got 98% of that group. I am going to guess these people would describe themselves as consistently conservative. So yes, these conservatives brought us Donald Trump.
